  1. Quit complaining about the refs. They do the job they can. If you want better refs then TSSAA needs to pay more. Otherwise you are going to continue to have what you have because no one wants to go through what they go through for what they get paid.

I am sure that the refs made central do all the holding, jumping off sides, personal fouls. If the Central kids can't keep their composure then they need to get flagged.

You're right Wildcat, T$$AA does need to pay the refs more.............the only problem is that the home school pays the refs, not TSSAA! I wish TSSAA paid the refs. Let me see. An official gets paid $85 to work a 2 hour game. If my math is correct (I am horrible @ math BTW) that is $42.50/hour. Wow! I do not think I could work for such meager wages. I think I will stick to my current job which relates to about $5.65/hour! I recently witnessed a ball game where the back judge did not make a single call all night and the only thing he did was raise his arm 5 times to count down the play clock. He got paid $85 that night. I personally think ALL officials should be held accountable for work on Friday nights. They should have to watch film of themselves after each game. The home team should supply the necessary video equipment for the refs to critique themselves so they can see the mistakes they make. I know that will never happen. Wishful thinking.

  2. So what do you suggest a coach at East Hickman should do when a player quits or is dismissed for disciplinary reasons and the middle school coach tells the player that the high school coach has to let you play. Encouraging the player and family to plead their case before the "Wizard of Oz". Then the wizard in his infinite wisdom of what is good and just in the development of character and team, over-rides the coach and mandates that the individual WILL be on the team???????

Ladies and gentlemen........introducing the greatest show on earth........Barnum & Bailey's Three Ring Circus! Permanent address: Hwy 7 in Lyles, TN. I don't care who is coaching that team, if the community will not let the coaches coach and be supportive, they are putting their own child's chance of success in serious jeopardy.....much less the team. I feel sorry for the kids because they are watching and being taught by the infinite wisdom of their parents. The same parents who probably quit high school sports because they did not get their way or could not play dead in a western movie. Now all they have is......."I Could've been real good." Would've, could've, should've. With all that being said, I wish Eh all the best. The kids who have character and the coaches who have character deserve better than what they are getting. I remember when the school was being built. The buzz was how proud the East folk were to have their own school and how they were going to separate themselves from the other side of the county. Wow....they have definetly separated themselves. They have taken it to new heights. Hang in the there EH.

  3. Does anyone know the TSSAA decision on Fairview requesting to move "back" into 11-AA? When reclassification took place, Fairview was placed into District 11-AA for about 13 seconds before there was a sudden change into 12-AA. The only valid reason that TSSAA would send Fairview back to 11-AA would be because of the opening of Summitt High School in Williamson County. TSSAA announced that Summitt will be in District 12-AA. With that being said, 12-AA would have 9 teams, where 11-AA will have 7 teams. They may try to balance the 2 bordering districts with 8 teams apiece. Summitt to 12-AA and Fairview to 11-AA. To be perfectly honest, it would make more sense to send either East Hickman or Hickman County over to 11-AA because of location. I would say that TSSAA does not want to split the Hickman schools up like they did the Cheatham schools. 2 wrongs do not make a right. Anyway........if anyone knows the verdict, do tell. :thumb:

  4. Army @ West Point is offering. Navy @ Anapolis is coming down in May to watch him and visit with him. They are VERY interested in him as well. Eastern Kentucky have him in top 3 at RB's they are looking for. MTSU coming in May as well. Countless inquiries for his film and transcripts. Obviously a very good player, but an even better person. He deserves any attention he gets. :flower:

  5. Coach Ward and his staff do an incredible job! Their offense is very precise and gives defenses fits. During the Creek Wood game, they tried a screen pass that CW smelled out perfectly. They tried bootlegs with their best player and possibly the best player on the field that night (#12). They have stallions who carried the ball and made some plays. It seemed to me that Coach Ward and his staff did all they can do to win the game. Maybe you should realize that maybe, just maybe, they played a pretty good team in Creek Wood? It was an incredible game played by 2 good football teams. Camden will do well as long as Coach Ward is at the helm. :roflol:

  6. 2 real good football teams played a great football game when Huntingdon made the trip to Camden. Both teams played well with Camden apparently making a few more plays to win the game. I did not see Creekwood take a single snap or make a tackle in that game. Both Camden and Creekwood have other games in the district to worry about before they can worry about each other. I am sure both coaching staffs will have each team focusing on the next snap. :thumb:

  7. A young player should not have to come on a public forum and defend themselves. IMO, this young man has a lot of class. To the adults that started this mess, I hope you feel good about yourself. This young man should be getting mentally ready for Fairview, instead, he has to worry about what adults are thinking of him. #24, you just earned a ton of respect. Good luck Friday. :thumb:

  8. before today i would of said East had a pretty good chance of winning. Now that the coach is playing the political games with his favorite It might cause some friction on the team i hope not ,but for the coaches benefit he needs to watch game films before handing out awards. I heard that someone got the game ball that was not as deserving of it as a player who should of got it, but this is all hear say. does anyone have anymore info. If this is not true EAST 20 Fairview 14 . but if true fairview 35 east 6

Uuuhhh, did you really just post this? wow! Have the East people not figured out that this is what is will continue to drive your program in the ground? Good luck coach King. :popcorneater:

  9. One of my favorite things to do every year is to fill out the Murphy Fair preseason football magazine because it always gives me a chance to have a say in the all-state teams each and every year and it also is a way to compare my own personal all-state selections to those at the end of the year. If anyone else has any all-state caliber names that they would like to let be known I would love to see some of the names so I can follow them throughout the coming year.......

    Quarterback: Brandon Johnston (Smith Co.)

Running Backs: Jaron Toney & Taharrin Tyson (Alcoa); Jabronski Gilbert (Milan)

    Wide Receiver: Perry Horkins (Harpeth)

    Tight End: Tyler Robinson (Alcoa)

Offensive Center: Travei Pryor (Austin East)

Offensive Tackles: Timmy Bush (Smith Co.) & Tanner Owen (Cheatham Co.)

  10. Someone fill us in on this.......but, I understand that the powers at be in Hickman County have reared their ugly heads again? They have just terminated their second baseball coach in 2 years. How does anyone expect East Hickman to be successful in anything if they keep getting rid of coaches at a record pace? Someone from The Eastside please elaborate. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. Anyone have anything on this one? Did they play?

The scrimmage did take place. Creekwood had 7 TDs & Hickman County had 1. The score was 50-6 Creekwood if you total in the 2 pt conversions also. Hickman County was huge upfront and physical. It appeared that they really concentrated on trying to establish the run game. Creek Wood scored on some big plays in the air and on the ground. The score may not seem like it, but Hickman County seems to be well coached and disciplined. Good luck to both teams in '09. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  12. It appears to me that howdoitknow and Ditka are quite fond of each other. You two be careful or the CoachT Nation will get the wrong idea about you two. Both Cheatham and Sycamore have real solid programs who seem to win games they are not supposed to have a chance to win on paper. That says alot about both teams and both coaching staffs. But....I am diggin' you two exchanging pleasantries and friendly banter. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
