Best ER team ever would probably be the 88’ team went 37-1. Smallest player was Mr Basketball in Fitz Jones at 6’1” , and had the 1989 Mr Basketball in 6’8” Carlus Groves. Marcus Bell was 6’5” and could get some boards. Jimbo Vaughn and Neil Murphy were both around 6’3” and could shoot the cover off the ball. Don’t know if they were better than the 98’ PC team but I would say they are in the top 3-5 range for best 1A team of all time.

Agree!  I was at White House High School at that time. I can remember Carlus would hang around half court and let the other four play defense.  Didn't they have a dude named Tyrone Dotson that played for them? I may be thinking of someone else.

Why has McKenzie Female Rebels and Riverside Female Panthers cancelled a game 6 days out? I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

The way I understand it, it was at the request of Riverside. I am guessing Riverside may need the date for district.

I don't see this as a coach responsibility during the season. I see this clearly an Athletic Director responsibility. The coach gives the information to the AD and from that point forward the AD should communicate with outside people. When I was teaching (Not Coaching) I had a ton of emails to answer everyday, lesson plans, evaluations, exams, parent meetings, grading work, teaching, etc... every day. I could not imagine being a coach on top of all that. So I think you are wrong slamming coaches for not getting the radio guys a roster. you should be slamming AD's

I first try to go to the visiting teams radio station once I see who they have played. Most of the time, I have that persons contact information, and they will send it to me and I will reciprocate if needed.  If that doesn't work, I will go through the principal/AD, and then the coach.  If no school personal AD or Coach wants to send then I will try and get it from scorer night of game.  If that doesn't work, and the coach doesn't take a couple of minutes to email it back, that is on him.  I would hate for one his or her players to go for 40 and all the crowd knows  is a number.  (This coming from a former coach in football and baseball).

And I agree, football is way easier than basketball.

Wilkins got a technical for shrugging his shoulders up like what was the call and the ref slapped a tech. Anyway the girl that shot the FT's missed the first FT and our fans cheered that she missed the FT and a Creekwood scorekeeper who they say is a school administrator looked into the crowd and said to stop cheering against her because she was a Freshman and was 14 years old. We told the scorekeeper we aren't going to stop cheering because we paid our money to cheer our team and he sent the sheriff over. It was a girl and she talked to me like I agree with y"all this is a total circus here but I have to kick any of y'all out of the gym if they tell me too. No profanity just cheering for our team and they didn't like it. I would say that every ball out of bounds went to the home team and they shot about 35 FT's to our 8-10 and ours were at the end of the game. We went into a four corner up 14 with 7 minutes left in the game so we would have enough players to finish the game. We had our post foul out early in the 4th and we had most of our players with 4 fouls before it was over.

We play Creekwood at home on Friday.

  6. McKenzie was “upset” last night at McEwen.  Outside of Davis, Reynolds, and Pate, we are hurting.  Just too young and inexperienced. I will say fouls and free throws played into it.  McEwen was 24 of 28 at free throw line.  McKenzie 4-8….for the game.
Our post play is non existent which we really haven’t had a dominant post player in a few years but we had the shooters to offset it.  Not the case this year.  Those young players have to grow a lot before post season.

Noah is outstanding… if he coached at martin, Union City,Huntingdon, Dresden…. that man would have a few championships. I’m a big fan of his work and have no dog in his race . What he does with the smallest school in the entire state is incredible.

I have said this many times!  He is a heck of coach!

It’s coming whether we like it or not..in one form or fashion there will be changes.

Yeah. I know.  It has the potential to shred HS athletics.  I can see it now.  The little 8th grader who could run circles around everyone goes to high school.  Doesn’t play as a freshman.  Mommy and Daddy  thinks they have the next Patrick Mahommes. Next thing we see is a Facebook/Twitter/TikTok:  “I have entered the high school portal.”

I can think of several things that would be worse.. Not qualifying for the playoffs, losing in the first round, losing in the second round, losing in the third round, losing in the fourth round, losing in the final game... in that order.. those all would be worse..

Agree.  I would love to see this dudes Facebook profile to see what he is all about. He needs to be called Lt. Forrest Gump.
