  1. Scrimmages scheduled for july 31 @ Knox Central--6 PM

    Aug. 7 Heritage @ JCHS-6 PM

    Aug. 13 Farragut @ JCHS-6 PM

It About football time in Jefferson County--I attended Camp for a while today and the coaches nare working hard to get the team ready and the team is putting out maximum effort to get ready. I predict a great year for the BIG BLUE PATRIOTS of J C H S as they begin the return to the kind of team that we have seen in the past. Not the biggest bunch I have seen in my 25 years of following the PATS but a good strong, hard working bunch of guys.

  2. Unless I heard wrong, this problem has been taken care of and the young man has been removed from the team. This is sad for him. he has lost an opportunity to learn the life lessons that football will teach you--one of which is to follow the rules if you are going to live in this world.

GREAT BLUE AND WHITE SCRIMMAGE WON BY THE DEFENSE. BRIGHT HOPE FOR BOTH D AND O FOR THIS YEAR--GREATLY IMPROVED ATTITUDE AND EFFORT.

  3. Pretty good assessment of scrimmage. Young man ejected needs to be taught some disipline at home or he needs to be removed from the team. I noticed that he is very quick to become overly excited and enraged, which is a common action for some who is less talented or does not know how to play the game. This young man showed this same attitude last fall in some of the JV games. Enough of the negatives--PATRIOTS looked good in this scrimmage, even without some of the players being in baseball and track. GO BIG BLUE!!!!!

  4. No disrespect to the GOVS. i have always liked your program and have wanted to give all respect to your former coach, and have tried to defend all his actions, even though he lied to me straight in my face when he left jchs to go to WB. With that been said, the cupboard must look bare, because MEADOWS is no longer there. And a note to out Catholic friends--just keep the athletes/players there or Meadows wont be there long.

  5. Indications are that with the new attitude on the staff after Coach Anderson decided to take the reins and be the HEAD COACH, there seems to be a new determined attitude with the players. Congrats to you Coach, now lets bring back that PATRIOT PRIDE among this group of players. I know its in there because some of it is beginning to show thru their work the first two days of spring.

  6. I heard the team measured max bench press and clocked the men on their 40 yard dash this past week. Any word on who is throwing the big weight or what the top 40 times were?

Just a few that I am aware of--

    Bench press

    ZACK KOUTZ--320 LB.

    BRAD MASON--300 LB.

    KEGAN RINARD--300

    ANTHONY GOINS--295

    40 TIME

    GOINS-4.4

    TOLLIVER--4.5

    EVAN McFALL--4.6

    MASON--4.6

    KOUTZ--4.7

    RINARD--4.7

  7. What type of offense do the Patriots and Bears tend to run?

I've known Steve Brewer for many years as a coach and his offense is WHATEVER-GETS-THE-JOB-DONE. This is not being disrespectful, but praising his ability to adapt to most situations.

Jeff County attempts to run the veer, when the line blocks, the backs run, and we keep our heads in the game and focused on the task at hand

  8. AND WHY DID JC PARENTS SHUT DOWN THE RIOT AT THE GAME???? Players tried to get the RIOT to stand up and cheer and they told the players that some parents called the police on them cause they couldn't see. I HOPE THEY GOT THIER MONEY"S WORTH!!! Nice job MAMAW. Next time stay home. Better yet, Cagle needs to reserve a spot for the Riot just like they do the band to make sure this doesn't happen in the future.

I hope, the fans want, the players need to see some big changes this week in practice. What have we got to lose???

I feel your pain, I was called down by parents for cheering the O-line on and cheering for the D-line to get pressure up front. From what I saw, we need to begin all plays where teams have started their offense and defense since the game began, and that is up front with the line. Iwas taught when I played that if the lines performed at the maximum, then we could not be stopped. This is a strange and new concept according to some people. Want to score????--BLOCK LINE BLOCK!!!! Want to keep your opponent from scoring?????--PRESSURE TACKLE PRESSURE. WANT TO WIN ---BLOCK--BLOCK--TACKLE--TACKLE--EVERY THING ELSE WILL TAKE CARE OF ITSELF.

  9. Your "out" all right. Im still laughing at your explanation of the sign. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I can't remember ever seeing a sign at a football game that urged the injury of the opposing players. The TSSAA needs to investigate what happened friday night. Read the comments by the DB players about the game at tricitiessports.com. Jefferson Co. needs to be put on probation at the least.

As you can see, I dont post much, however I think you have finally lost your mind. I have seen every game that has been played between these two teams and the comment that I have to say to you is this---THE VERY FIRST SERIES OFFENSE FOR DB, I MADE COMMENT TO MY FRIEND THAT YOUR?? #71 AND THE PLAYER BESIDE HIM HAD CHOPPED/CUT OUR DEF. TACKLE ON EVERY PLAY TO HIS SIDE OR HE WAS HITTING AND BULLYING AFTER THE PLAY. I'm sure the JC players werent told to retaliate, but as an old time tackle, if I were being chopped every play, I would have destroyed someones knee, without being told to do so. That being said I have always enjoyed some of your idiotic comments and your 100% top ten, but you are now getting personal and it is time for you to possibly to be banned from this board and if I can help you along, I intend to do so.

  10. I'm really not sure why jeff county would be considered a disgrace to 5A. Yeah, it got ugly during the Euverard era..Tradition was lost. Things turned around a little last season. Over .500 and a playoff birth. Things seem to be heading in the right direction. It is a process. Kids that were not a part of a TRADITION back in the day, cannot pick it up at the snap of a finger. It does not happen over night, and if you think it does then you are foolish. Too many people try to magnify scrimmages and translate them to the outcome of the season. Scrimmages are practice sessions that allow you to get better. The 1st scrimmage was not good, but the 2nd was better, and the 3rd was a little better (reguardless of the team). That is the purpose of scrimmages, to get better. And as long as jeff co keeps improving each week, they will be alright.

Icannot believe that anyone made the remarks that JCHS is a disgrace to 5A, especially from Maryville. After all there are several old Patriots on staff there, incl. GQ, Ricky Upton, and others that I cant recall. If this was said I am sure it didnot come from anyone that matters. As a matter of fact, I dont know why I replied to the post. I've been true blue since 1983 and i still get excited about Patriot football. I now have a grandson on the team and could not prouder of the efforts of the coaches and players as they return the team to an East Tennessee Powerhouse once again!!!! Hows that for knowing about tradition and I believe it should taught to the current teams. We are not a disgrace to anyone at any level.

  11. he wasnt calling for anyone's head. jc4life, dont let a 16 yr old kid (just guessing) keep you away from something you obviously care about. you are a true blue patriot fan like the majority of us old timers. but you already know that, no one needs to convince you.

AMEN!! come on back, the real "TRUE BLUE" fans enjoy your comments, even if we disagree with you sometimes.

  12. Congrats to Coach Anderson, Region 1 Coach-of-the-Year and the guys making All-Region teams. A great year that is building for the future. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  13. Now there's an idea!!! Just so all of you coacht bums know, the coaches don't get on coacht and structure their gameplan around the comments of a few fans that have nothing else to do. Just because you graduated high school a long time ago and still attend every practice does not make you more of a fan than any one else. Neither does your amount of time on coacht!! HA My thanks goes out to people such as the parents that put alot of time into the team through involvement with the sideline club but at the same time don't run around bad-mouthing the coaches for every little bump in the road. Patsfbl9 knows the type I'm talking about. If you really want to be supportive, get off coacht and do something such as getting involved with the sideline club. We already have hired coaches!

As much as I hate to say, the players do read this crap so if you do have nothing else to do besides spend time on coacht, keep it positive and actually be a fan!!! As for me, this will be my last post. Just think about it people....everything else has changed....now we just need our fan support to change from previous years!!!

Some of us old FANS have been around Patriot football longer than some of you new posters have been in this world. Like some of were fans when Bill Brimer was roaming the fields of JCHS, you figure how long that is. If we are told off by you new so called fans who follow the Pats while junior or Cuz is playing, then leave and only show up every once and awhile then the crowds will look like the home crowds at Farragut and Bearden, And other schools. Go ahead and run off all us old folks and there will be no cheering at all in the stands. Also most of the old boys on these threads know something about football. For your own clairification, go back and reread the comment about coaching changes, if you can comprehend what was written, there was no call for a coaching change for the head coach nor any others, there was simply a question asked if any coaches might be leaving or stepping down as often happens at many schools each year and happens at JCHS often. By the way I am glad it is your last post, I guess we can count on you to be there cheering for the Pats for the next 20 years and supportint them thru state championships and 3-7 seasons just the same and never complaining regardless of the outcome. I AM ONE OF THE TRUE BLUE PATRIOT FANS, WIN OR LOSE.
