I'm just glad this game is at Maryville this year , i don't anticipate any freak rain storms occurring over an isolated area( appx. a 100 yd by 50 yard area ) like we experienced prior to last year's game . "Halls has it" ... freaky weather patterns that is !!

actually, it did rain that day. i remember sitting in class watching it rain and hoping that the game wouldn't be called off. the stands were dry because the sun came out, but it rained hard for a good two or three hours. coach shepard didn't turn on the sprinklers, as everyone thinks...

Players quitting because they dont like the coach speaks volumes about their character, they are quitters, quit when things were rough, plain and simple.

 

Want to know why Maryville wins year in and year out? Its because the boys are passionate about the game and have loads of heart, and wouldnt quit if they didnt like the coach.

 

Quitting because you dont like the coach is no excuse. Maybe thats why Coach Sheppard didnt have more success, things get tough and players quit. Did players quit on Maryville when they started 0-4 in 2000? No, they stuck it out and won a state championship.

it never fails that someone has to come in here and downplay things by posting about maryville and how great they are. we all know they're good, ok? the reason players quit is because shepard had a nasty habit of screwing people over with playing time and touches. in the '03 season reese had the hardest fought yards of anyone that season but had very few touchdowns because shepard would always give the ball to lockwood inside the 5 to let him rack up his stats. i'm not hatin on maryville, i'm just tired of some of the maryville fans who always, and i mean ALWAYS come into other posts and talk about how great maryville is. everyone know how great they are, you don't have to remind us.

Ummm...brianiack...the name "Maryvillewho" would denote that he is NOT a Maryville fan. Try to keep up with the rest of the class McFly.

not to mention the fact that his stats say he's from powell, tn. way to be paying attenion smart one...

but as for the game, i honestly think powell has this game. it won't be a walk-through, but powell gets the W.

Oh, and incase it's not obvious, the "smart one" comment was to notright.

I'm gonna say Catholic wins this one. We (Halls), scrimmaged Catholic in the preseason and they gave us a good fight. I'm not predicting a score cause I never have been great at it, but Catholic definitely should win.

Well, to be honest with you the best linebacker to come out of halls was probably coach Julian, in my opinion. He was being recruited by Ole Miss and a few other big name colleges before he broke his leg in a game his senior season. His younger brother was telling the team about how coach Julian tried to get his leg taped up so he could go back out and play, even with it broken. Julian was for sure one of the meanest guys on the field when he played.

gah, y'all are throwin around plenty of hate, but this is a football message board, so instead of talking trash lets talk football. we could talk about any game of the season, including next week's game against powell. (which happens to be homecoming)

gah, come on, what's with all the hate goin around? is there any need for it? all in all we'll lose 21 (i think) seniors. our seniors are: lucas, ferguson, black, cox, vandergriff, cleveland, wright, royal, large, phibbs, mathews, collette, etherton, reese, reinhart, young, reed, billingsley, thomas, obester, boruff. our biggest group of seniors in years...

Well, if you want to include scrimmages into the equation of gibbs beating halls then that last time was two years ago before the start of the season. but we're twice as good as we were then and we're looking for vengance for our loss last week to central. i'm not going to make a prediction because i'm a player, but this will be a hard fought game on both sides of the ball.

i seriously don't think this game will be as big of a blow out as many people are saying it will be. i'm not saying that halls is going to go in and beat the crap out of them and blow out central either. this game is going to be very close. the team that wins this one is going to be the team that plays with the most heart and capitalizes on the other's mistakes. this is goin to be a great game.

i seriously doubt that schools will start rationing gas. the gas we're buying now, the gas companies paid for back in june. while we may never drop below 2.50 again gas will go down from 3.30. it's honestly not like we're going to run out of gas in two weeks because of this hurricane. all the gas companies are doing right now is making us pay more so they won't lose money when the gas they should be getting over the next few months is less than normal or maybe doesn't get there till a later date.

Well, well, this game is not at the right time of the year.  This game is to be played late in the season.  All of you bobcats better beware.  The Debils are for real.  No way are they going to loose this game.

Why are we playing at Central again this year?  We played there last year and have to go back again this year.  Why in the world would we go there too times in a row.

actually our schedule is like it is because every two years they get remade. to make room for karns and lenior city at home we were forced to change up our schedule just alittle.

Well, to begin with, Coach Sheppard isn't at Halls anymore buddy. And if he were he doesn't coach soccer, nor has anything to do with the scores. Either way, good luck to Halls tonight in the Region Semi's.

sorry to disappoint everyone in here... but honestly not too many people are upset that burnett left... i know most of we players just kinda laughed it off and went on without a care... and to be honest the maryville coach actually called coach shepard and asked him what burnett's dad was doing calling there and wanting to talk about burnett playing there... but yeah... not too many people at halls care

ok, first off why's everyone saying carter's gonna win i don't think they will, we know we need this win to get into the playoffs, and i promise halls wil bring there A game, as for the coach Julian story... i asked him about that and he told me not to believe that garbage, so i guess that settles that...

I went to Halls, played at Halls and have ran over Lobetti myself...I never said that I always ran you over, we never matched up much in practice, but 8 out of 10 times I would have

I mean if you're gonna say you put him on his butt don't go and say you didn't that much a day later, everyone gets knocked on their butt everynow and then, even jackson... as for the game, i agree it will be a tough game, both teams always put everything they have into this game. But I believe that the Halls defense can stop Jackson and force Helton to have to throw. No, Lobetti may not be the fastest player on the team, but i guarantee you one thing, he will go out there tomorrow night and do what he has to do. I believe the rest of the team will do it to.
