  1. First off I do not think anyone from Williamson County shops at Goodwill. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

First off you're a dunce. There's a Goodwill less than a quarter mile from FHS.

And yes, I realize this comment was just your stumbling attempt at a joke by blindly branding everyone from Will Co as rich & elitist. If your Napoleon complex makes you feel better when you lose then so be it. Just try to make it funnier next time. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  2. Could be worse... you could be driving all the way from Monroe, La. because you promised a certain kicker that if his team made state, you'd be there. Not that I know anything about that though.

If I wasn't working at the NCAA Division II Soccer National Championships this weekend, I'd be making an even longer drive from Sarasota, Fla. but alas, I'll just have to cheer long-distance I guess.

    And 2priceless, I'm back around here at least for the week... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

You were always the best fan we had out there T. I'll cheer double for ya saturday in the boro.

  3. I'm thankful we have a game here in Franklin tomorrow, but I sure wish I could see this Henry Co v. Hillsboro game too! It's sure to be a classic and I wish our future district-mates the Burros the best of luck from the Rebs. Hoping we can watch ya'll play before us next Saturday in the Boro!

  4. dont get to cocky. White Station is no push over

Any team that makes it to the semis is obviously very talented. I don't think anyone is getting overlooked or taken for granted at this point in the season.

Looking forward to the big game friday night (with hopefully a little warmer weather than last friday /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> ).

  5. Is Ford more of a power back? Or does he have the speed and moves to run away from the defense?

Ford definitely runs hard, but I wouldn't call him a power back. He's not huge, but he knows how to keep his feet moving and lower his shoulder to get the tough yards. I've seen him make many defenders miss with his moves though. I'd say his best asset has to be his burst. He just hits the whole quick and hard. Once he gets past the first line he usually takes the ball a long way with his speed. Kilo Lee is a little larger back and gets a lot of tough yards, but you couldn't classify him as a "power back" either. He's got great hands out of the backfield and he's elusive in the open field.

    Spartansfan,

What are some of the names and numbers of WS playmakers we fans should look for friday night? I know a previous poster from Millington mentioned the RB with the youtube video.

  6. I'd disagree and say Brentwood deserved the 7 they got because their running game was outstanding, but no more than that. Our D played tremendously well and I was worried for most of the game that blocked PAT would come back to haunt us. AJ Krow played a a great game. I was very impressed with his ball handling skills and the way he managed the triple option. If they had an air game that could have added some play action to their attack, they could have pulled it out. But FRANKLIN went against a great D and got their revenge. On the offensive side, hats off to Alex Ford / Kilo Lee and a great effort from the O-line to keep the run game going. Jarriel had some AMAZING catches from Graham on the night too. Defensively, we came up with the stops when we needed them and it bodes well for the next two games. Great job by the D-line to cover their assignments and by the LBs and secondary to step up and break on the ball. I think those could have been the two best teams in the state that played tonight. Overall, it was a classic game that lived up to it's billing.

Having said that, way to go Rebs!!! Keep making us proud. I don't know anything about White Station, but as long as we play our game we should be fine. Looking forward to next Friday night.

My only question about the night... what was up with that onside kick after the final touchdown!?!?

  7. why was the other thread closed??

Probably because it was a bunch of non-Franklin people from WilCo (Indy, CHS, BHS) egging on HHS supporters and arguing over nothing that had anything to do with this matchup. I've heard great things about the atmosphere at Hendersonville football games so I'm looking forward to making the trip Friday night. Go Rebs

  8. Still in the 2nd quarter...

    Franklin - 21

    Independence - 0

Junior RB Alex Ford broke loose for a long run and Junior RB Keylo Lee finished off the drive with a TD run.

/roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I didn't have enough gas to get to Thompson Station tonight (stupid hysteria) but I like hearing this!

  9. I'm pretty sure he wasn't comparing BGA to Franklin. It read to me this way: "Congratulations... we wish you all the luck in the world, unless you play us."

I agree with bdd's sentiment 100%. Coach TJ is special and he always manages to get the best out of his teams. BGA will be back to the prominence they held in the late 90s in no time. I wish BGA all the best for this year and in the future. It looks very promising as you've got some great students and a special coaching staff. I can't wait to catch one of your home games. BGA always has a great home atmosphere.

  10. What's up with that rooster that kept crowing at Ravenwood last night? Seriously, for years I thought the Raptor was a dinosaur (velociraptor - anybody else?), but judging from the sound effects coming over the PA last night it is apparently some sort of chicken or crow.

Great game Rebs. McGavock next. One game at a time.

  11. With all dues respect to the great effort Franklin gave (especially in the first half), Greg Young's right knee just grazed the grass and was DOWN and the referee did actually blow the whistle, but he did not blow it demonstratively until after Young was back on his feet (right before the late hit). That is why Franklin fans were upset. However, It was the proper call on the late hit.

Also, HHS and Franklin's offensive lines BOTH flex during their cadence. I personally saw SEVERAL offsides by both sides' defensive lines that probably could have been called, but the officials ruled that they got back before the snap.

Congratulations to Franklin players and coaches on a game well played and a great opportunity seized! Without a doubt, my prayers go out to the Franklin O-Lineman that was injured. Good luck to the Rebels the rest of the season! The rivalry is just getting going though as beginning next year the game will have region standing implications in addition to the current bragging rights!

Agreed on all fronts. Great game from both teams. Hillsboro showed great heart battling back from such a deep hole. The late hit was questionable because the quarterback was still running and no whistle was heard in the stands, but as it didn't determine the outcome I don't see it necessary to debate it further. Franklin looked like a state championship contender for most of the night. Hillsboro looked like a state championship contender for the 4th quarter, and no doubt with an entirely healthy O they would have looked better for longer.

Eric Gordon impressed tonight. Alex Ford, Keylo Lee, and Graham Nichols impressed tonight. It was a great night to showcase the best that Tennessee high school football has to offer to the entire southeast via CSS. Big plays from both teams and a great crowd for two great programs.

One note to BurroBall though - next year Franklin and Hillsboro will be in the same "district" and "class", but franklin will still be in a different championship division. It's all very confusing, but basically Franklin will be 6A and Hillsboro will be 5A so I don't know how that all counts toward playoff standings. Here's a summary... http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=379&f=1281&t=2571476

Best of luck the rest of the season to the Burros and big ups to the Rebs on a big win. Let's get ready for McCallie now. One at a time till we get to the Boro in December!

If you didn't see this game, you should definitely rewatch it on http://www.wazoosports.com/

    Prayers for John Gentry.

  12. To all REBELS out there!!!

Come out and support your Rebels!! Show your maroon, white, grey, or black. This is going to be a great game and Indy has dominated teams this year. Say what you want they are in Round 3, and they had to do something right to get here, same as the Rebels. Throw your stats out the window because they dont mean squat right now. You can size up the rushing, passing, defensive stats all you want but it does not matter in this game.

Both teams are seasoned and competitive. Predictions are just predictions. People still have to eat their words when its all said n' done.

GOOD LUCK TO THE REBELS and COME ONE REBEL NATION!!!!

Wish both teams a great and safe holiday and wish everyone on both sides a injury safe game with this exciting game coming up!!!

Ditto. Looking forward to this monumental game. It'll be a great day for south WillCo either way. Go Rebs!

  13. It will come down to WHOEVER wins this Friday night.  Friday Nights Lights Live, Up Close and personal.  Late Friday night you can predict with 100% accuracy who is going to the big and final game.  Good luck to all four teams. thumb
