No contrary to what you interpreted i did not say they were bad players. IN fact, Jeff probably is better than me. However, I am saying that three players can't make a team unless they are INCREDIBLE, which they are not. Those three will not be able to beat a strong team. I am number 4 for mccallie and play for Cleveland Select. However, my guarantee is that McCallie would beat McMinn even if they did have jeff back. These players are good, but not good enough to be mentioned with the likes of Igor, Dougher, and Sammy.

I do know Adam personally and he is not a wussy. I think people who know him personally should judge this bettter than those who don't.

Baylor 1 Cleveland 0. (on a pk) I heard Baylor did not play well. My source from Cleveland says that they are going to have to improve if they are going to return to form. McCallie's two starters were John Shanks (our defensive stud) and Corey Remillard(our best scoring option, except for last year).

100% correct Hoya. USN made it to states, and yet Baylor didn't. There is something wrong with that picture. This year the east has 3 of the top 4 or 5 teams in D2 and yet one of them will be at home, while 3 or four undeserving teams from the middle and west will make the trip to Memphis.

I would agree with you Staynskool, but I played against Bach this summer and found that he is fairly easy to contain once you adjust to his speed (diving in against him will get you schooled). However, my main point was not about the outside mids, it was about the forwards and the outside mids together. The outside mids will be gettting forward alot this year. Bach is not an extremely good defender (aka he is more offensively oriented), also they have no real senior leadership in the back. Fynn might be there most experienced player and he is a sophomore. Also, like i said there keeper is not good. Therefore McCallie should be able to score on them. Baylor's offense however will have a hard time, even though they are talented, scoring on McCallie's defense and goalie. McCaliie should be favored going into the season, at least over Baylor. Knox Catholic has to be beaten to lose their number one spot in the region. Webb is number four then Notre Dame in my opinion.

This is a stupid argument about Jared Price. Anyone who has led the Chattanooga area in goals has to be considered one of the best finishers in the area. This is not the best player discussion. Clearly, he can put the ball in the net if given the opportunity. He is however, not near the best player in Chattanooga. Another good finisher is David Reaves from Cleveland inside the box with the ball he is nearly automatic.

I think that Charles Williams is the second baseman for McCallie.

Is there some sort of tangible reason why everyone is putting Baylor ahead of McCallie? As I see it McCallie should be ahead of Baylor. We have the biggest difference maker in the city (Trey Meyer), they don't have a goalie. Larkin can shut down Dougher or at least contain him, whereas they have noone to stop our forwards and outside mids.

Hate to say it, but I have played against Jared and Andy Slack, not to mention Jeff Hinshaw, and they could not have made the final 4 even with good coaching. Bearden and Farragut have players like that all over the field. Schools like Hendersonville, Clarksville, Blackman, Houston, and Germantown would take their team to the woodshed. They have barely beaten Cleveland in recent years, and trust me cleveland has had nowhere near the talent level to make it deep into the state, although they too have good players Jared McCalpin and David Reaves, but not much depth.

Maybe Division 2 state.

Not to take anything away from Golden. He is a great player. I once saw him make one of the best shots i have scene in the area( left footed curving upper ninety corner from about 30 out), but is not in the same stratosphere as dougher, sammy, and igor.

USN - 0 McCallie - 3 Any thoughts after USN played both Baylor and McCallie on how those two teams are looking earlier in the season.

Cleveland 5 - Sweetwater 2

McCallie beat them 3-0 and Baylor won 2-0. They are a solid team, but i don't think they can stay with some of the more dominant teams. We handled them well and they did not have the ball very much. #10 Hoover can play for them and Patrick was hurt, but i know he is solid. THey could make some noise, but don't have a shot at state.

Pedro was however going to play in the 1970 world cup before his knee injury.

I would agree with you, drsoccer we did underacheive that first year at states. We lost a game which we should have one. Up 3-1 in pks only to lose to the Warriors. We did not "underachieve" after that only being eliminate by the same team, except last year which was a disaster. When impact formed we could not hang with them. Their goalie was much much much much better than ours, no offense eric. Also, they are solid all over the field. They had Igor, after u-16, and Adam in the middle. Gatorade Player of the Year Mitch Thomas, Evan and other knox catholic dude, both solid. Todd from bearden. They were solid where as we had week spots....i.e. centermid. Pedro is the best coach b/c of his changes he is able to make. ONe year going into state we lost Jose and Igor (traitor), both center mids and probably our best two players, the week before state. We had 12 players going into state, one of which got hurt in the semis. Yet, we still made it to finals and held it to 1-0 although, they did spank us all over the field, but in our defense we were exhausted from the game earlier in the day against tnfc, which had 17 players and subbed them constantly. However, impact would have won even if we had been healthy.

I would have agreed with you up until about u-16 about that age group sammy took over and igor sort of dropped off a bit at least in my mind. I was on both of their teams for multiple years, and i say that igor was the better player, but I feel like Sammy has passed him over. Sammy can dominate people 1 v 1, Igor is not quite as dominant. Also, about the team game, Sammy plays very unselfishly. For dalton i think everything he did against mccallie was a one or two touch pass. In club he takes people on a lot more b/c that is what PSA expected and needed him to do. What usually happened is he would beat almost everyone and then slot it back to another player, David Reaves or Allen Medaris, who would put it in.

Yeah Igor is stuck at Central, he would be able to lift them up so they could play with red bank and teams ofthat nature, but he decided that playing down to that competition level would not be worth the time, or at least that was the decision he made two years ago. Also, I agree with lcsoccer, knoxville gets overlooked a lot on coacht which is ridiculous considering they are probably the best soccer city, both high school and in some years select. Some teams up there can really play farragut, bearden, knox catholic are three teams that could play with any team in chattanooga, and beat them a lot of the times.

Igor Slisko needs to be considered, bc technically he still lives in the area, although he plays for impact in knoxville. If he is considered he, sammy ortiz (dalton) and dougher are probably my top three, although dougher is third out of those three and Sammy es numero uno.

Ha, I have had both Manny and Pedro. Pedro hands down no questions asked not a doubt in my mind. Pedro has won so many games with less talent. Just look at my former team not that talented, but the only team in tn that could beat us was impact, at least till the last year when we ran out of luck. Pedro best coach overall. Jimmy probably the best in high school. but Tony Meyers will be there in a few years just hasn't had the time.

Yeah i know i was just messing with carlos, in my opinion number two in the city.

After Saturday, we will, they play McCallie in a scrimmage.
