  1. heck yeah, McCallie. Jamey way to step up as a senior. Wish i could have still been playing to relish in that moment. Good luck for the rest of the season.
  2. Baylor should be the best team. Who knows how they will do though. They always seem to underachieve for some reason. McCallie will be solid, but my guess is that they take some losses early, but make a run at it late. In my opinion making it to the finals or semifinals of state. 1) McCallie 2) Baylor 3) ND (Let's be honest the teams above them own them mentally) 4) CCS 5) Red Bank That's my thoughts, but Baylor could be above McCallie. I just think they will lose a game in the playoffs and McCallie will make it farther, even if they might not be the most talented team.
  3. Stats aren't stats. This is something that I continually see from high school soccer. A player from Ooltewah's stats do not carry the same weight as those from some other schools. (ie McCallie and Baylor) Look at Jared Price or David Reaves both good players and had INCREDIBLE high school stats, but were they indeed 25 goals better in a given season than someone from McCallie or Baylor such as Jake Dougher or Patrick Johnson. The answer of course is no. As for Daniel, I have played against him and seen him play since he was probably 5. Very talented player, but his 12 goals is not indicative of him being put on this list. Ooltewah scored 1 goal against their 4 ranked opponents, not to mention being shutout 9 times last season (not so good with a schedule like theirs). I expect that many of Daniel's goals came from there 9 at Chatt Central, there 5 at Walker Valley, or there 3 at Warren County. Just a guess please tell me i am wrong, but even if I am he is no where near a top 5 talent in the area. 1) Bach 2) PJ 3) Kit Brady 4) Fynn Glover 5) Jeremy (Ooltewah) -Could be some Notre Dame kids, but I am not too familiar with the current team
  4. Eric Brown from Houston and Jeff Kedrowski from Baylor are both going to Centre College next year.
  5. Any details/updates on the McCallie-Father Ryan game? Who scored and who controlled the game?

    DII State

My predictions: McCallie 1 Father Ryan 1 McCallie 4-3 in PK's. Patrick Johnson will continue his solid play, Crabtree will be a prime time player, and Coach Myers will come up with a solid gameplan "with that." IN the other one. CBHS 3 BGA 0 Having played CBHS last year i know how good this team is. I expect them to come to play and dominate this game from the start.
  7. Patrick Johnson should be added to your list. He is probably McCallie's best player.

I am sorry if it appeared that I was tearing down price to put up lowder. That is in no way the case. My point is that I think we should take Price's goal count with a huge grain of salt, since it was against many many weak teams. That being said, I stand by my statment that I don't think that he will be an effective player against a higher level of competition. He (to no fault of his own) is just in a geographically tough position to play for a top club team that plays at a top level. He is a good player and has proven this in high school, but he has never really had the opportunity to play at an ODP or top club level. Therefore, I think that he has missed out on becoming one of the best players in the state. As a result, other players who have less talent but more experience and better coaching have passed him in my opinion.

UNCFAN13, Touche. I had not looked at their schedule. It is true it appears that many of his goals did come against weak opponents, however their schedule is still much tougher than McMinn's. Also, I was a bit biased because of the fact that Lowder has a national reputation, which I am sure has nothing to do with his 30 goals this season. He is an extremely good player and that is why I deemed him to be the best scorer in TN. I have seen and played against Jared Price and my point is that he prays on the weaker teams, but once he plays strong teams he is not a very effective player.
  10. I haven't been able to see any of these teams play and I definitely can't judge by the scores who should be favored. So let's hear it from some people who have actually seen these teams play. Who will win? Who will affect the game? Go on and predict the finals if you are that bold. My dream: McCallie 2 Baylor 1 in OT to win the region.

Well from what I have heard, Lowder is the most prolific goal scorer in the state. Jared Price is a nice little player, but if he played the schedule of a Baylor, McCallie, Brentwood, or some of the Memphis teams he would be just a solid player. His game will not transfer to the college level as well as his teammate Kimball. Price let his speed and size make up for what in my opinion is a poor understanding of the game. Lowder on the other hand is probably the best player in TN even though he is a junior. He has proven it against good competition this year.
  12. I have played both and on the issue of mental toughness or whatever I am going to have to go with soccer. Sure, you have to memorize the plays etc, which I think is very difficult, but at the same time these plays tell you what to do and don't leave it up to you to determine what next. Soccer the decision making is all you. You have to be on your toes at all times, the only thing a coach can do is put you in a position. They cannot call the play, this breeds more crafty and creative play from the players. That's my thought.
  13. Wow. You have been misinformed. look for McCallie to do very well this year. Defense is the only question. Losing Catanese and Davy Pollock will hurt, but they have solid players who should step up. Offensively they will be fine. Patrick Johnson is one of the best in d2 and Joel and Nouri should be much improved from their freshman year. Jamie Stone is the x-factor, b/c he has the talent, if he steps up they could definately make some noise. Crabby will be good in goal. McCallie might be slightly worse than last year, but I stress the word slightly.
  14. You could say that because no one has heard of Tyler and he is solid, but not many people have heard of or seen crabby play and he is really good, could definately play in college if he was a bit bigger.
  15. I would rank the chattanooga goalies who have been mentioned thusfar as follows: 1) Robby Miller (played against him and practiced with him a lot) 2) Carlos (played with him off and on for probably a year) 3) Alex Crabtree (played with him for four years) 4) Jeremy Williams (solid, but haven't seen him play in three years and supposedly he is better now so who knows) 5) Tyler Bahn (a distant fifth....played with him for a year or so off and on) I am friends with about 3.5 of those guys and that is my unbiased opinion.
  16. Yeah I meant Joel, who is going to be a top forward in the area for a while. Just wondering who and where some of the area players are looking at for colllege?
  17. HOw do you think that keeping slack, price, and kimball....in my opinion there three best players will help? If anything there biggest loss will be santiago in the back, there offense will be just fine, maybe the best in the state.
  18. I predict Farragut's run to end this year. Losing Brobowski Britcher and Doyle will hurt the really bad. My prediction is that McMinn County will finally score enough to get to the finals if not win the whole thing.
  19. Baylor, CBHS, and MUS.......darkhorses McCallie, Webb, and ECS. I would predict MUS over Baylor in the finals.
  20. But to the topic at hand. 1)Baylor (stacked with talent like Kedrowski Spitalny and BACH, who is possibly the best player in state) 2)McMinn County(Price and Slack are best forward tandem in area.....maybe state) 3)McCallie (Patrick Johnson and Nouri Rahbe are going to make a very offensively powerful midfield) 4)Notre Dame (The only reason they are this high is because of Robby Miller and the fact that they are just solid not many stars) 5)Soddy (Good senior class that has been playing together for a while) 6) Grace (great goalie and solid field players) 7) CCS (always solid) 8) CSAS (not as good as years past losing Trevor and their center mids will hurt) 9) Red Bank (couple of select players that might make a difference) 10) Ooltewah (will miss Golden but still a good program) 7-10 could go either way Players to watch: Bach, Jared Price, Spitalny, Patrick Johnson, Nouri Rahbe, Fynn Glover, Kimball, Andy Slack, Robby Miller, Kedrowski, Kevin Rose, Jeremy Bradford, Nathan Hertzog,
  21. Rigger, man that was one of the worst posts I have ever read. Pedro is the only reason that Chattanooga soccer is still on the map at all. I agree Knoxville has taken over the soccer world agreed. This is due to two factors their Club teams have joined together to form very powerful teams and their high schools are densely populated with good players, while chattanooga is all split up. In the hayday of Chattanooga soccer, everyone played for Baylor MCCallie and Notre Dame, but now it is split up throughout all of the high schools in hte city. Every highschool has a couple of select players, but no one team is as stacked as Baylor and McCallie used to be. This is the reason for the collapse of high school dominance in Chattanooga. Club soccer is very similar. In my year 86's there have been two main teams. Revolution/Redoubt and PSA. Revolution started off being the dominant team, but after two years of coaching PSA surpassed them on the state soccer scene (100% due to the coaching of Pedro). In the u-14 state championships we were probably the favorites, but we suffered an extremely tough loss to the warriors (impact) on pk's ( we were up 3-1 but choked). So after that year until we were u-18 and everyone quit we were the dominant team even though they started off with a lot more talent ( and kept it since kip was the only revolution player to play for Pedro). Also, PSA was widely consisdered to be the second (all be it distant) best team in the state. Just look at results Rigger Pedro's two oldest team in state. PSA was eliminated by only one team (IMPACT), while his u-16 team was always one of the top 3 teams in the state and made it to regionals and did very well there (3 ties maybe??). In short Pedro is by far the best thing Chattanooga soccer has seen in the past decade and although the talent has become split up, he is still the best coach in the area hands down. Rigger get your facts straight before you start bashing Pedro man.
  22. I agree. He seemed to be a cool guy when we played them. He did not trash talk and let his playing do the talking.
  23. Once again, I got served by Invasion. I should have put in our age group, my fault.
  24. Evan played 86 in odp, so i always thought of him being in my grade, but now I remember he is a year behind me and the rest of the 86's.
  25. I agree with Invasion on this. We played Farragut in a scrimmage and was very impressed with both players. Believe it or not, I used to not think too much of Britcher, but as soon as I played against him while he was on Impact, I changed my mind. He is possibly the most complete player in TN (even moreso than Adam Montgomery, but Adam is still the better player just not as versatile and "complete"). Doyle is a stud and would be much more well known throughout TN if he played club. Doyle and Britcher were the best two players we (McCallie) played from TN. I don't think Price is in this league. I have seen them play twice and I honestly was the most impressed with Kimball, he is very solid. Whereas, Price is just fast physical and very, very good at capitalizing on mistakes, but not as good as either of these players.
