  1. I agree that Halls is the favorite in Region 7A as far as the others especially Carroll Academy they have only 12 girls in the entire school including 8th graders with 10 of them on the volleyball team. Carroll Academy starts one 8th grader and two 9th graders. The Lady Jags have already won 7 matches more than they have won over the last ten seasons. The Lady Jags have already played such teams as TCA, Lexington, Mt. Juliet and will still face Halls, Hardin County, Lexington, TCA and others the remainder of the season. Trenton is also an exceptional team as well. Lady Jag Heather Todd had 43 kills in a doubleheader 3-0 sweep of So. Gibson on Wednesday. If the CA Lady Jags don't win another match the rest of the year, they have had an unbelievable season.

  2. Carroll Academy is having its best season ever in any sport. Heather Todd has 79 kills. The next week CA faces Milan, Trenton, & South Gibson all at home. The CA volleyball team with 9 players 2 of which are 8th graders in a school with only 11 girls total enrolled is the kind of story that movies are made from. The remainder of their season should be very interesting.

  3. Class A Carroll Academy Lady Jags the smallest school in Tennessee beat AA Gibson County HS 25-22, 19-25, 25-11, 25-22. Carroll Academy with only 14 girls enrolled in the entire school with a roster of 8 girls two of which are 8th graders has played well earlier this week losing to TCA 4-25, 25-21, 16-25, 17-25.

  4. Baseball and softball teams should not be allowed to playing games until April 1st unless they can go to some pre-season tournament in Florida. It is absolutely ridiculous to play and practice in the dead of winter. All this is is a continuation of these wannabe's and has beens parents who dream through their kids. You either got or you don't. How many big leaguers do you know that come out of Tennessee and why do you think the UT softball team is composed of Californians. Baseball and softball is meant to be played in the spring and summer not winter.

  5. DeAndre Larue has had a couple of colleges request tape on him. The one thing Larue has over some of the others who have attended Carroll Academy is that he is from Carroll County. Carroll Academy has a lot more control over the students that come from Carroll County than the other 4 counties they serve. If you are from Carroll County a kid's parents can be forced to attend their kids game whether they want to or not. Its hard for the average person to believe that parents will not support their kids but that is often the reason why kids are there in the first place. Kids that attend Carroll Academy from the other 4 counties don't have the court structure that Carroll County does. Carroll County Juvenile Court is probably the strongest and most innovative court not only in Tennessee but the whole country after all they are the ones that founded Carroll Academy and the sports program in the first place. I think back about 5 years ago Carroll Academy won 14 games beating a lot of district and bigger schools most of their players were from Carroll County. Also Carroll Academy has had 3 or 4 girls receive volleyball scholarships they too were from Carroll County.

  6. I don't believe that the coach at the Dallas area school should have been fired for beating the team 100-0. Carroll Academy has gotten beat like this numerous times but never complained about it. I know that CA has been beaten by such scores as 110-4, 105-10, 101-19, 93-5, 64-1 but they have never been shut out. They have actually won some games.

  7. This happens to Carroll Academy in west Tennessee all the time. One night Carroll Academy got beat by over 100 pts. and a team was still pressing them full court with the starters in. The coach at Carroll Academy instructed his player taking the ball out of bounds under their opponents goal to just hand the opposing team the ball if they wanted it that bad. I know on another occasion a team was beating them something like 70-5 and the referees were calling everything against and laughing at them at the same time that the coach at Carroll Academy took his team off the floor after having only four players left with their Christian High School opponents were still pressing them. The TSSAA reprimanded the Carroll Academy Coach. If you get a chance you need to read then Carroll Academy Boys & girls Basketball Coach Randy Hatch's book Winless Winner it has all their stories in it including the reprimand letter from the TSSAA. The coach at the Christian school that pressed them all the time got fired. This is the same Carroll Academy coach that used his 5 girls starters uniform numbers as the winning numbers to win the Florida Lottery. He eventually bought the Memphis Pyramid Basketball Floor which is still Carroll Academy's home court today. It's real neat for visiting teams to get play on.

  8. You don't know why he is at CA. Some of the kids that attend CA are there because of their home life and custody issues not because they have been in legal trouble. Your own coach told a CA staff member that he didn't have anybody that could guard Larue. Larue has as many as 4 players guarding him and faces a double team every night. It's not being cocky when you tell it like is. You can't guard him!

  9. DeAndre Larue scored 58 pts. today Dec. 9th for Carroll Academy vs. Bruceton in a 91- 88 OT victory in an afternoon matinee game. Bruceton had three players guarding Larue during the entire game. 12 hours earlier Larue scored 38 pts. vs Memphis Macon Road. That meant Larue scored a total of 96 pts. during a 12 hour time frame while playing for Carroll Academy. Larue has also scored 36 pts. in a game vs. Huntingdon. Larue is averaging 35 pts. a game this season. Larue faces double and triple teams every game he plays for Carroll Academy because of their obvious lack of depth and skill level.

  10. Congratulations Hampshire on a playing an excellent game and 2nd half. CA was down 4 at the half and has three good players but as usual has no depth. When LaRue for CA who had 21 for the game picked up his 4th foul early in the 3rd qtr. it was over after that. Hampshire will know a little more about CA when they play at Gleason Friday night. Camden will be at CA Tuesday night.

  11. Waverly is not a very good football team without any tradition to speak of you can't take them seriously. The only teams that have ever had any success in 7 2A are the two transplants from the west of the river Huntingdon and Camden with Huntingdon making 3 state championship appearances and several semi-final games in 2A during the last ten years. If they were back in their natural region playing their natural west Tennessee foes making the playoffs would be a very difficult task.

  12. Yes, we are loving it all the way to the playoffs. We're in too. Sorry to disappoint you. We did finish tied for second in region. We are in the playoffs though. And if we had of played against Huntingdon like we did Camden, we would have destroyed them. But we didn't. Too bad. Good luck to all 7 AA teams, Camden, Stewart County, Huntingdon and Waverly, all in playoffs.

  13. Waverly is a slow bad football team playing in the weakest region in the state. All the teams in the region lack speed and athleticism. Huntingdon's program is down because the competition level they are use to playing is not the same and they don't have the great athletes they've had in the past.
