  1. My vote is for BA. They are tired of having everyone question their ability and integrity. I think that they are honest, God-fearing coaches, staff members and students who work hard for what they get. They are out to prove that fact and I think they will do so Saturday.

  2. 82, where are the other Smyrna fans? Looks like you're out there trying to play Friday night's game on here all by yourself. I can't tell if you just have a bad attitude or if you are so desperate that it just appears that way.

Let's just hope that the players on both teams come with a go-get'em attitude, play hard, play fair and have fun. That' really what it's all about, isn't it?

  3. Sure would be nice is someone could post updates on this game for those of us who have to work and can't be there.

Too bad you have to work. Can't you get someone to cover for you? I think I'm going to travel down to Faye town to see this one. After all of the hype I've seen about The Pit and those fans, this looks like the place to be. Me and my buddy want to see this for ourselves.

  4. Also what would be cool is keeping the current format, but having each division's state champ put into a playoff bracket with all the other state champs, and that would decide the best team in the state. However, that would probably make football season too long. Just a thought.

I agree with the suggestion of having 1 state champion. That would solve all of this bickering and chest puffing about who is REALLY the best. Put 'em head to head and let 'em play it out.

As for it being too long...NAW! The teams that go that far have fans that will go with 'em.

I say let 'em play to the last man standing takes it all!

  5. I keep seeing it posted here and in other threads that the starters need more playing time. Is it being overlooked that if the starters aren't playing, that the "scrubs" must be pretty good, too, if they are scoring, too? Sounds to me like Lincoln County has more to it than the starters. Whaddya think?

And what about that awesome Defense?

Then there's Coach Thompson and his staff.

Plus they're playing in The Pit.

Looks like Cumberland County has lots to overcome.

Here's to a good, safe game for all.

  6. The best that Cumberland County can hope for is that they'll see a great team play. At least at the end of the year they can say that they played one of the best, if not THE BEST, teams/team in the state. Let's just hope that everyone plays their best and goes home healthy.

  7. Keep your heads up, Pioneers. Sounds like help is on the way. My hat's off to the players and fans who have stuck in there. It's hard to keep up the spirits in program like this one. You are heroes in lots of people's eyes by continuing to hang in there. Go Pioneers!

  8. Ryan, as you can see from the previous posts, you have already been an inspiration to others. Believe me when I say that you can continue to be. There will be times that others will see things that you need to do as insurmountable, but your fighting spirit as an athlete will get you through them.

My teenaged friend had brain surgery and had to learn to walk again. Her years of being an athlete helped her to know what her body could do and how to make it do things. Her background of never giving up kicked in and helped her get through what others thought she might never do. Now people tell her all of the time that she has inspired them to keep going whenever the going got tough. She never saw it like most other people did. She just thought of it as another day as an athlete trying to achieve a goal.

Keep your spirits up and that fighting drive alive. We who don't even know you are proud of what you have already accomplished. My family and I are praying for your complete and quick recovery.
