You can go to several other state tournaments and watch a first class event but when you go to the Cow Palace you see just how cheap and second rate the TSSAA is in its present form.
I remember a D1 coach went and brokered the deal for the Ag center to hold the championships. Seems to me they were presented a deal and agreed to it versus making the deal on their own. This looks like a self inflicted injury by the teams and not the TSSAA.

Fair point. I can say in my case then I would tell the kid personally, particularly since I would know him. This rule is well known and so the instant it is brought to the ref's attention everyone is aware of what is likely to happen. Why I typed that last part of my last sentence in the prior post.
I would say that human nature of any person (coach) is hard to understand sometimes. I could see the reporting coach being upset (if he believed the opposing coach was sanctioning cheating) and going on the idea that this is the consequences of that behavior. And justifying it by "this is what you get when you cheat".

Maybe the SH coach had the perspective that the other coach already knew this was going on. Maybe that is why he did not bring it to the other coach.

First, the Bower's situation was totally different, and not going to drag all that up, but a ton of people were nasty to Ben, so I don't blame him for getting out of that area. He needed a change of scenery . So yeah, he went were he felt comfortable.
Bronson's dad got a job in the Tupelo area, and they moved to Mississippi. Since he wanted to continue to wrestle, and there is NO wrestling in MS, they made the choice to look at CBHS, and were part of the Wave program, so try again. None of us really knew that family before hand
Cooper has been coached by Derek and Ed for a LONG time, (LONG before he really broke out and became a top level wrestler), so of course he had discussion about things. And kids wanting to stay with a coach they are comfortable with is not the same as going out and finding state champions and bringing them in. If you can't see that, there is no reason to continue talking about it.
So with those 3 examples, none of them fit your statement about recruiting.
Peterson's family MOVED to Nashville. Really don't think they did that for wrestling. Just happened, when they moved there, they had to decide where to put Parker, and chose Fr Ryan. Don't see one thing questionable about that.

And as for your statement about crying about DII being created, I totally get that. And I have no problem with that. My original statement was simply, make it fair. WHY are 2 kids that decided to go to a brand new school not allowed to wrestle, but 2 previous state champs were allowed to "move" and continue wrestling without a year sit out? That is all I'm arguing about. And I made a statement that the word "recruiting" and high school should never go together, and thus people made fake claims that all schools are doing that, and I deny that 100%. NOT ALL are doing it, some yes, and that is fine. To each is own, I don't care what they do, but I do care that 2 kids are not getting the same privileges as the others.

I agree 100%. There should not be any transfer restrictions at all. Let the kids move to the schools that are going to give them the best opportunity to excel in their sport and give them the best chance possible to continue their sport in college if they do choose.
I agree with this, it should be about the student athlete and participation in the sport.

Are we still talking about the numbers from this past weekend or are we changing the topic back to the state duals?
just a reality check, all in good fun.

This has turned into more of DABEARS trying to make Bradley relevant in this discussion of Region 4 dominance. How many finalist did Bradley have? Everyone wants to jump on the coattail of the winning teams success just because they are from the same region. Cleveland dominated, I guess that is a moral victory for the rest of that region...
who put Wilson Central into the consolation bracket at the State Duals?

I’m confused. Why is Herron listed but no other beech guys?
re read the title of the post. Unless that entire team is ranked by Hamm, then WrestlingGod is not listing them.

I think those of us with complaints, are those that were consistently on the losing end. Win you win....you tend to forget bad calls.
that was the point.

The comments on the officiating are inconsistent.

Congrats to the raiders of Cleveland. It really is fun to read all the others outside of Bradley County spill their guts about the small stuff.
Tell them StarRaider, it was a great night !

maybe you should call coach Smith and give him you life experience on how to handle tough situations. It would be better than throwing him under the bus here on this public board.

I like number 4 too.

it always is a test with the Red Raiders.

I had good quality video and audio this time around. Good job by coach Miller on the call for each match.

The English departments need some work in that county.

Sommers,
Do you know something that we do not? I have not heard anything about this being political. Would you like to expand upon your statement?
Sommers is just being highly irresponsible with those comments.
