No one is saying that Riverdale & Goodpasture aren't good teams. One of the previous posts was just making the point that preseason tourneys aren't always indicative of what a team is really made of, especially if they have a lot of young players. None of this really matters much now unless these teams are in the same district, region or state bracket. Tournament season is pretty much over and it is time to concentrate on the tough part of the season. The Worth/Coffee County tournament was well run considering the conditions. No one can control the weather. Unfortunately, March and April are typically wet months and lots of teams have had to re-work their schedules because of rain-outs. Thanks for all the hard work.

It was early in the season and the hitting was not really there yet. Newberry and Vercoe were not playing because of injuries, and the freshmen looked to them for leadership. Lawrence and Davies got on base, but didn't get driven in. Now the freshmen have more confidence and they are able to make the big plays (both offensively and defensively). Baylor has 7 or 8 girls who have hit homeruns this season, and with Miller in centerfield the outfield is as good as any.

Not sure about the pool play game, but #7 started the championship game for Brentwood and allowed 3 runs in the first inning. Then #8 came in and pitched the rest of the way for Brentwood. Maddie Schmissrauter pitched for Baylor.

S.D has a pitcher who strikes out 6 or more batters a game that helps any infield. Soddy has a great pitcher, the 2nd best centerfielder in chatt. and a real good 2nd basemen. The rest are good solid A-ball players which is more than most schools have.

Apparently not enough.

Soddy coach called coach Clark becouse he is the one who decides if games are played or not. It will be played next week. Baylor has never faced anybody but Waters, the last 2 years but if you beat Soddy beat the best team they can have on the field, that will cut out the excuses. ( Baylor won that home game in 03.)

How is Knox Webb this year? Have not heard anything about them.

You are the one who dosn't care about how the players feel or the rules. I said I am glad our coaches do. Ooltewah put on a good event probably one of the best of the year. The weather was good the ups were good and most games were on time. T.S.S.A.A has rules most coaches follow them this was the third time he was caught. like it or not if you are caught breaking the rules 3 times it shows a lack of something.

Leave the field crying,and the third violation petty. I am glad my daughter plays for a coach that respect the rules and her.

Why did Ooltewah play on the field that has slow pitch fences?

Baylor was to play today at 4:30. They now play Fr. @ 4:00 and 8:00. Probably everybody plays 2 games Fri.

That is the dumbest think I read. You beat us 1-0 in a play day on a throwing error, Soddy beat you by 5 runs and Baylor by 1. do the math.

Let you know in a couple of weeks, hard to be in a consistent when you play once a week becouse of rain.

Soddy plays Baylor Wed. I don't see an upset for Soddy this week. I do not think Ooltewah has the hitters to win. Baylor's seniors can hit Waters but they have trouble getting hits back to back to score enough runs to overcome Soddy's bats.

They always have internal strife.

Baylor beat Jefferson Co. 5-0, then the rain came. For Boyd J. Ives hit 2 home runs in their first game

We have every schedule we play in except Ooltewah. They are never in a hurry.

Boyd played Baylor tough and S.D. tough, they can hang with anyone. When was the last time Soddy gave another team credit in an interview after a game?

Thomas is a good young pitcher and throws hard, but her fastball does not seem to have a lot of movement, and she leaves her change up around belt level. At least the few innings I saw her pitch. Waters seems to have good movement on her pitches, that may be why batters chase so many bad pitches.

When they come up from there knees the runner is standing at first. Seen it happen to the ss a few times, better to learn proper foot work.
