  1. Kudos to UC for not going out and trying to find some cupcake to fill a void. USJ has a fine football team. It would've been nice to have a had a game under our belt before playing the Bruins but it is what it is. UC had quite a few first game mistakes. Timing was off. Have to get the ball back to the QB faster. Hard to start drives inside your own 5 yard line and every KO was a touchback. The USJ kicker is a weapon. Disappointing not to get a TD after the turnover to start the game and then not getting any points out of halftime on a very good drive. USJ is big and athletic on both the offensive and defensive lines. Well coached. Just a solid club.

  2. UC had zero points from the post ... Got doubled up rebounding ... No answer for their size ... MAHS held a double digit lead most of the game ... Oh and zero points from the bench ... UC was 2 of 3 from the line and the Lions were something like 13 for 18 but most all that was when UC had to foul in the 4th quarter ... McMillan had 19 for the Tornadoes and I believe only he, Bobo and Theobold scored ... Paraphrasing Sisco, happy with the defense giving up 40 but you're not going to win many scoring just 28 ...

  3. Playing Sub-State games in Memphis is a different animal … I don't see Madison winning down there … That's just based on having followed really good teams getting beat in Memphis at this level of the tournament … Then you got to add the fact this is #1 vs #2 … Will be an electric atmosphere …

Humboldt comes away with a four (4) point victory & will play Union City Monday at Gibson County! If, Humboldt plays like they did tonight it will end Monday, missed five (5) free throws in last minute that would have put game away in regulation! Number 4 for Lake County almost beat Humboldt by hisself with 30 plus points!

    They won't miss a FT or 3 pointer ...

  5. Union City 10 First Downs

    Fairley 3 First Downs

    Union City 154 yds rushing

    Fairley 34 yds rushing

    Union City 33 yds passing

    Fairley 78 yds passing

    Union City 187 Total Yards

    Fairley 112 Total Yards

Time of possession UC 18:25 Fairley 5:35

Fairley has a 75 yard return

  6. The Tornadoes are coming around … Listened at work in Ohio … Not laying the ball on the ground and sustaining drives … Chewing up chunks of yardage and clock … UC will be a dangerous play-off team if this type of play continues … The bye week comes at a good time … Get healthy for the real season coming up ...

Im so sorry that I missed this game. For those of you who don't know, I have a flare for the dramatic. Which means that I occasionally perform in our local community theatre. Well, I am playing Gomez Addams in the Masquerade Theatre's production of The Addams Family Musical. Tonight was opening night and I couldn't be there for this game. I wish I could have seen this great win. However, we had a great show tonight at the theatre and my Tornadoes won. So a great night. I extend an invite to all of my CoachT friends to drive up to UC and catch a performance of The Addams Family Musical and let me know when you are coming. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Show times are 7:00 pm Friday and Saturday nights and we have a Matinee on Sunday at 2:00. We will perform this weekend and next weekend as well. Now you know why I sometimes become a little dramatic on the T. Yes! I am a Thespian. For you that don't know...... that's not the same as Lesbian. It just means that I am an actor. Im not the only UC poster who likes to spend time on stage. There is at least one more. I will let him come out on his own. LoL. Anyway. Go Tornadoes!

When they do The Godfather you will play the lead …

I agree with Swo. I think Peabody would beat Lake County but it would be a lot of fun to watch.

You think Peabody would be able to consistently defend both the pass and the run? … I mean they are not getting pressured by our pass game … I give Peabody a slight edge but I bet it would be a shoot-out ...

At least we are losing this game because we are playing a better team and not beating ourselves. The one fumble that we had is a prime example of the types of fumbles that happened in the last two games, if any of you Peabody people are wondering what happened. Yep, 12 of those during the GC game.

How do you think a Peabody/Lake County game would turn out ?

UC had 500 yards of offense with 25 first downs and Gibson had 350 yards of offense with 13 first downs. UC beat themselves tonight with the fumbles. Gibson County is a good football team but we handed this one to them on a platter.

I asked earlier … I heard we had 11 fumbles … How many did we lose ? … How many picked up or picked off and ran in for TDs? … How many short fields GC have to drive? … 76 yard TD pass called back on first play from scrimmage …  How many penalties in all? …  35 points … 500 yards offense … 25 first downs … No way you lose that game …

Well Lake County is really a good team. Tonight our defense actually looked pretty good until the turnovers kept piling up. There's only so long you can keep your defense on field without wear and tear physically and mentally. On top of that it seemed like every turnover happened when momentum was starting to swing our way.

Yeah at least LC is known for football …

  13. Got to get this lack of defense/too many turnovers business straightened out. I mean no disrespect but the Tornadoes just got beat by a school known for girl's basketball and band … A team that was 0-16 against the Tornadoes … This one is a bad beat … Living in a world where UC is giving up 50+ to Lake County and 60+ to Gibson County … I'm not saying this is up to the level of Gleason beating UC in the Jimmy Fishel days but it's on up there … Lord help us when we go up against Peabody … That said, GO TORNADOES !!! … But dang …
