Hard game to watch but got exciting at the end, wouldn,t be much fun playing for UC. I'd rather play horse shoes . lol. 30 was a BEAST but Ithink it would have worked with 21 as well. 21 was a monster on d.
Yeah he had over 800 yards rushing on the season and at least one 200+ rushing night filling in for Trey Jones #30...

Tyner was at their best when #8 the QB was just improvising and making plays. One of the throws he made at the end of regulation looked like the throw that McNair made in the Super Bowl against the Rams. I was screaming "Go for two" when they scored in OT1 to make it a 21-20 game. I would have at least called a timeout and taken a team vote:
"go for the win or tie the game?"
Didn't understand all those trickeration plays ... They did better when they ran conventional plays and did what you said, roll the QB out and let him improvise ...

When a team dominates you on the field like that and then you are fortunate enough to get the opportunity to win it all on one play you have to roll that dice and make that call.
Closest 2OT blowout I've seen... We should've kicked the FG ... I just cant believe someone on that sideline didn't know it was 4th down...On that first long drive we had and didn't score we had the guy slip and fall on 3rd making it a long 4 & 7, next play we get 6 yards...Then that 25 play drive we had two guys run into each other...Had a hole big enough to drive a truck through...Why Tyner didn't go for two is beyond me...

Awesome game Tornadoes ... Congrats on a great season ...
Great effort by the Rams ... Nothing to hang your heads about ...

Humboldt Vikings has started the season off against some though competition (4-3), losing a close game to undefeated Liberty Tech, & losing two (2) games to 6A schools( Halls, Arkansas & St. Paul Louisiana team). This team is still trying to find the right chemistry but playing tough bigger schools will only make them better so hopefully by tournament time they will be ready. It's crazy not seeing Lake County or Union City on the regular season schedule want see them until regional tournament but got to make it to regional first.
Ridiculous, really ...

And if Pat Polk don't hit a 75 ft shot at the buzzer in Poplar Bluff we don't beat Raytown South ... In sports you gotta get some breaks ... UC got them LC didn't ..

For the record Mayfield did not get killed they won 21-14 hard fought game so I guess that means Mayfield is not the 3rd best team in ky 2a lol
I think Mayfield sometimes gets a bad rap from Tennessee HS Football fans because people perceive KY as a " basketball state"... Mayfield is a football school ... Their little boys grow up wanting to wear the Red and Black because their daddy's did ... They want to win and wear big rings because their daddy's did ... It's a winning tradition bred into them ... They have been blessed to have coaches that taught their players the right way to play football ... Joe Morris is a great coach that has surrounded himself with great assistants ... I think they will beat Danville ... I think the championship was played last night in Mayfield ...
-
If UC plays like they did last night we will win ... If we can put a defensive performance together like we did against CA we will win ... Know nothing about Tyner ... They have to be really good to get this far ... We are 60-6 since the start of the 2013 season ... I think we have played a schedule that has gotten us prepared to play this game ... I noticed where our schedule was ranked low by CoachT ... Their rankings don't include out of state opponents ... Mayfield is 12 or 13 and 1 while Poth, TX ended up 9-2 with UC being their only regular season loss ... Our schedule was tough ... GO TORNADOES and bring home #4 !!! ...

We really didn’t play well against teams named Cardinals this season. I really didn’t know what to expect from this season but am proud of our guys for fighting back after that opening night disaster and getting all the way to this point. Good luck Tornadoes bring home the gold.
Good thing Tyner is the Rams...

Proud of Union City this season...After that mess against Mayfield (who by the way will play for a state title as well) and Adamsville and all the points being scored on our defense this season who would've thought we'd be here ?...Defense stepped up tonight big time...Played physical and didn't give up many yards after contact...One more game boys !!!...Dominating performance...

99 1/2 yard drive...Two passes even...35-0 UC 4th qtr

Halftime stats, U C tons of yards on the ground. Columbia stats, 7 yards running, 31 yards passing. Can you say they have never seen a defense like U C nor a offense like U C.
That one long pass they hit even their announcers said hit the ground...

Last week CA announcers was saying the winner of the Waverly vs CA game would win it all after Meigs Co. lost. Looks like neither team will be there for it.
They said tonight that the road to the championship runs through CA...Well that road is getting bulldozed so far...

OK...So we have a half to play yet and anything can happen but when UC makes stops (4 in the half), doesn't turn the ball over and doesn't commit silly penalties this is what happens...This is the best half of football against a quality opponent all season...First half was a total mismatch...CA gets the ball back to start the second half....
Union City - 28
Columbia Acd. - 0

With Union City you know what you're going to get. According to the stats Donovan accessed Union runs at a 96% ratio. That tells me they haven't changed much at all. That's the reason they are where they're at. They have an identity and stick with it. Fancy? No. A thing of beauty? Yes. I thought Union would be in this position but didn't think Columbia Academy would have the success they had this year. I'll take Union City in this one. Best of luck yall.
Very conservative ... I'd say 99.6% ratio ...

Good Luck to the Falcons from this Tornado !!!

We do pretty good with what we have. Home grown talent. We don't have the resources like Titan Tire etc to get a player from Ohio like UC did with Parker and get players from South Fulton, Westview etc.Lake Co is loaded with a bunch of sophomores and a lot of talent at the middle school .So we don't have to go out and recruit .Feels better when we play and win with what we have instead of hiring someone
It'll be OK...You guys have really good teams, usually...

Because when you have a kid that can hoop people ask around about the best place for them to go. Everyone is going to say UC over Martin.
There was a kid in the late 90's named Eric Bachelor that played for Westview. His mother magically got a job in Martin when they moved to the area. Jason Harrell drove from Martin to Obion Central to play ball. It happens in that area a lot.
LC kids don't move in and out often because there is nothing to move in and out for. Same for other places like Greenfield, Gleason, Dresden, Humboldt, etc...
Some good LC talent has gone to Dyersburg and Dyer County...

This is only our second time in general going to the semis. Last time we play away at Greenback and lost. We’re pretty good playing at home. Only three home losses in the past 5 seasons. This is going to be a great game i think
Our programs should be pretty familiar with each other...We go to camp to start out practice at CA every summer ...

Yes,I don't think hes a 6 10 transfer like I heard but they did get a transfer from Martin.Got the best shooter MCmillian .I had heard he started at Union City, then transferred to Martin and now Union City gave his mother a job at the school. Union City will do anything to recruit players whether get them a job at the school or get them jobs at Titan Tire, Tyson Foods etc..If you are unemployed and have a son that can play ball then Union City has a job for you. Isnt that right Chipper...lol
Sorta like Dburg and Dyer County do to poor LC...Maybe yall should be giving out jobs to Dairy Queen...

If UC doesn't turn the ball over and makes 4 stops, CA will have an awful tough time ... UC is tough to defend because they take what you give them ... If you key on their 2,000 yard rushing back, the QB will hit you with 175 yds rushing ... If you key on those two, one of the wide guys will hit you with 150 yards rushing ... UC just pounds and pounds and pounds ... Relentless ... It wears the defense down ... Now if UC doesn't play ANY defense and turns the ball over, we will be sitting at home the next week ... Historically, UC is good in semi-final games on the road ... If memory serves, we have beaten Huntingdon, Jo Byrns and Nashville Christian on the road ... Possibly Wayne County as well ... I may be wrong on that one ...

I'm leaning towards the TORNADOES but I always do...
2A State Title Union City vs Tyner Academy
in Class 1A & Class 2A

The defense is what had everyone questioning if they could go all the way...The loss to Mayfield, not the loss but the way we lost and the Adamsville game...You can't give up 54 points in a game, in regulation, and be thrilled about your chances of winning a Gold Ball...They really tightened their chinstraps the last three games though...
