Well said Catsbball. Also, a lot of people on here are reacting as if DL does this game in and game out. It happened one time, and from what I have heard, it was the strategy that put Lipscomb in the best position to win the game.

Congrats to Pickens on playing this style. He knew that he would have to hear it from the fans, but he put his team in the best position to win the game. I kind of wish I had seen a game like that last year at DLHS. With a good crowd, you could have some fun during the 4 corners offense.

I also think it is great that the DL fans at the game didnt come storming out at y'all the other night and make fools of themselves like y'all did only a year ago. As far as instant results go, it does not get much better than Tim Johnson at Franklin high school. Took a team with good athletes and made them a team that wins week in and week out now. Just call him Urban Meyer, the 'it' coach.

...If the coaches at your school are referring to opposing players by their Coacht name in scouting reports....(Jettjuice) ...if you no longer put weight in anything a David Lipscomb poster says. ...if you reply in threads like "Best Blocking Tight End on a Rainy Night" and actually argue that the one at your school is better.

I like the schedule. Traveling doesn't seem like it will be all that bad compared to some other years. It is good to see Greenbrier, Marshall Co, and Goodpasture all on the list. Looking forward to a competitive schedule and some new faces. Good luck to the Mustangs in '05.

Why not credit the Alcoa defense, and not the poor play of Austin Rogers? A week ago Lipscomb played Turner who will soon sign with any school that he wants to. He had no receptions and maybe 1 run for 6 yards. I credit that to good scheming by the Mustang coaches and good play by the Mustang players. I would never say he is underrated or doesnt deserve to play a down. Hopefully Warren and Lindsey keep their act together and can play in Neyland one day as well. I don't think you, or anyone else expects Austin to play next year. I just think it is a little ignorant to say you question his scholarship after seeing one game. With as much as Alcoa fans hype up David Pollack and Herschel Walker for the Tornadoes, I dont understand why you dont credit that defense some.

This is an issue that will always be debated until the few private schools in public divisions move to another division. No matter how many times the privates say they dont recruit, no one will believe them.

Um, Yeah, really no need to get into this argument. I think the majority of people on this board know that the best football stops at the hills and never makes it over. Take your two best teams from East Tn and match them up with any of the top 5 teams in Middle and West and it will be embarassing.
