I'd just like to say thank you to all of the Alcoa fans. You have really helped DL posters get back to their peak. We are at twelve pages right now on TUESDAY. I would have to say that is rather impressive. BombSquad has been a great addition to the team this year. It also helped that we returned startes like TedLnancy, Eddie, and myself. When is Rivals sending you your first paycheck. I think it is great that UT is giving these gentlemen scholarships. However, you are defining your life by knowing Dustin and Brandon. Please quit mentioning that they are gettin scholarships, everyone knows by now, and frankly, no one cares. They still have a season to finish and another to start. D1 is the least of their worries, but it sounds like you may need to go to the bathroom for a little while when they are officially offered.

Argument #1 on argument of public/private debate...DL has has a good run recently and people flip out. Not trying to bring this subject up, but BC brings up a good point. On another note...DL is a program, winning an average of a little over 10 the last 15 years, something that not every school can say.

Top 5 in the STATE, WOW. It's a shame it is Tennessee. Until you are top 5 in a state with good HS football, it really isnt that great. Both Warren and Lindsey are exceptional football players, but people from Alcoa act as if it is Herschel Walker running for them. Rogers will prob. redshirt, so he wont have had time to fall by the wayside. I'd love to see Lindsey and his 4.55 come in and run anytime soon with Williams and Coker ahead of him. I would actually enjoy seeing Warren in Neyland, he probably has some of the best potential.

First off, I was giving my opinion just like yours about seeing all three teams. I really should have just said two teams meaning Alcoa and DL because those ar ethe ones playing Friday. Oversight on my part there. Second, If you would PLEASE pay attention, you would see that I was not the one with the BIG ORANGE NATION at the bottom of my post. Look back at the names of people posting rather than the Avatar Picture. Also, if you weren't at UT I wouldn't care if you liked Notre Dame. You are from Greenbrier, not Southbend, and you obviously are not in school there. You probably aren't even Catholic, except on those rare Saturdays where the Irish win. You have to agree with this. DL coaches, especially in basketball and football consistantly have better teams than their talent. I grew up watch mediocre athletes win games against dominant teams with amazing athletes, it is always done with class on and off the field.

Also go to UT, have seen all three of these teams, and it is a coin flip. And for the love....fighting irish??? get out of Knoxville if you are going to cheer for them.

I have seen both teams play (Alcoa against Maryville, and DL against Ezell and Goodpasture this past weekend). Twitty, I think your sources are correct as far as team speed vs. team size. On paper, this Alcoa team is one of the better I have seen in 2A over the last 4 years, but everyone knows that the paper doesnt win the game. Most Lipscomb people probably expected to see Alcoa again this year immediately after last year's game. What's scary is that they are still only juniors. Both teams have at least 3 huge threats in the game at all times on offense. Neither team can key one guy and expect to win the game. As bad as the score was last year, Alcoa self-destructed. All of those turnover gave them no chance to win the game. However, without those turnover, Lipscomb still would have won that game. I really do not want to make a prediction on this game. You really just cant tell with high school football. Whichever defense can cause turnovers and slow the other team's numerous threats will undoubtedly win this game.

Yeah, no joke. 3A football aint bad, but it sure isnt what the Middle Tenn 3A fans make it out to be. DL could have easily made a state championship run in 3A the last two years.
