  1. Who said the 1a's west was so dominant ... well no one now. Congrats to Boyd. This is a CAK fan who still wishes that CAK could have stopped Boyd's run and then won on some interceptions - but I know that the playoff-ride is over; it was still very fun and fabulous for CAK. As for this thread: Boyd had an awesome team this year - enough said.
  2. This shall be one crowded game. Good luck finding a seat, let alone parking. CAK has some nice facilities but it is just not that big. The more people the more interesting this game becomes. I cannot imagine 7000 people extremely sad or happy. There should be more than two rent-a-cops there; not that I don't think we will all like Christians but the situation will be tense with such traffic of people and cars. I hope the game is first and foremost a safe one on and off the field. Secondly I hope it is interesting. Thirdly I hope my warriors win.
  3. CAK is definitely ready for a hard fought game. This small school has rallied around the CArdiac Kids. Is not just the heartstopping wins that warrant such a nickname; these kids play with heart. The fact is: CAK is the underdog - Boyd is a powerhouse. But this is CAK's first home playoff game and the players are pumped. Boyd should win, but CAK can win, and all CAKers are staying until the fourth quarter ends. I'm reading to freeze as I watch an interesting game. Can't wait! I'm definitely thankful for the fun that CAK football has added to my school life.
  4. Frequent errors / negative slants against the Warriors... What is the deal? Examples: Look at the huge picture's caption in the News Sentinel - try and find number 40 Matt Miller. He is not one of the four warriors in the picture! Notice that both of the pictures are 'specials'; then notice that both of the pictures seem to focus on the positives of Greenback. Look for a game summary and you won't find it. Did you see any TV coverage of Cloudland or Midway in Knoxville? nope. I could go on and on but I'd rather not be a winded complainer. Is this poor media coverage due to the fact that CAK is in class 1a or do I just have too high of hopes for TV and newspapers to reflect the game accurately? I'd like to know some non-biased opinions if possible.

CAK lost a chance to score in the first quarter on a failed 4th and 2 play not far from the endzone. Gregory Way led Greenback's offense. Greenback scored before halftime but failed a 2pt conversion. CAK scored with a pass to, I believe, Brendan Japp. Jeremy Park made the critical extra point to help CAK get to all infamous lead of 1. Will Burkhart broke loose in the 4th quarter for a long run down the field for a TD, and once again Park gave CAK its "icing on the cake". Greenback did not give in and pressed hard until they got a touchdown with Way's jump over the line on the one yard line. But CAK's defense was able to stop the critical 2pt conversion pass play. CAK's good tactical moves and coaching advice helped them waste the last five minutes. Greenback failed to have an on-side kick work for them but their defense was able to stop CAK's time-wasting, conservative offense. CAK stopped several Hail-Mary plays at the end to hold on to win. 14 to 12. My details might not be completely accurate cause I'm so pumped my team won! GO WARRIORS!

MAYBE! MAYBE we are just playing some good football!! Give me a break. CAK deserves a whole lot of respect. This whole season was just about CAK gaining respect. What do we hafta do to get it? Win state? I don't know if it'll happen but I know my warriors are gonna give it one heck of a shot. You've show them some talent, Warriors!

CAK rocks the house! (And yet we wasted a point - we won by 2!) 14 to 12 was the score. Good job to Greenback in keeping it very close and thanks for keeping the lights on: good sportsmanship. CAK finally gets another home game! Go Warriors!
  8. umm... actually 5 out of 12 CAK games have been decided by one point. That is about 42%, which is quite a lot of thrilling games. (the last four IN-A-ROW CAK games: Coalfield, Onieda, Cloudland, Midway - plus Asheville School, NC) Plus last time these two same teams played it came down to an end of the fourth quarter touchdown by Greenback. So if you want an unpredictable thriller come down to Greenback and receive a treat of a game.
  9. Celebration is not wrong; it is what makes the games. If Greenback would beat CAK and celebrate, of course (as a CAK fan), I'd be saddened, but not because I think celebration is wrong - what is wrong to me is that my team didn't win. Celebration can be wrong if comes to being not Christ-like towards the other team. Chanting is a way to build team spirit - it is a shame that it hurts your feelings. What is worse: Midway's cheap shot when they knew they were going to lose or CAK being excited when they won a game that everyone said they were going to lose? I would like to say that CAK is always portrayed as Christ-like in its ways but sometimes we fail and the community is quick to point fingers at us. But this time I'm sure CAK did not intend to be disrespectful to Midway in anyway. I thought Midway was an awesome host for the game (except for cheap shot in the 4th quarter and turning off the lights right after the game ended). I personally like Midway's announcer. He should announce the state championship game. Back to the greenback topic... Does the G-Nation respect CAK? I think they might have started to. As a CAK fan, I hope not - the less respect the more it fuels CAK. The Cherokees have become a rival of sorts and I can't wait to make the trip down there and watch the game. One things for sure: you cannot break the Warrior spirit. Look at how many games we have been behind by a wide gap coming into halftime to make an interesting fourth quarter!
  10. I know its low on the totem pole of class games but CAK @ Greenback should be a thriller. No one seems to be able to predict the games of both of these teams.
  11. CAK has attained a sort of balance to their offense also. They can run when needed (yet turnovers should be less often). But why go to the run when your passing is working so well? Greenback better have a balanced team, because CAK has become acquainted with having to stop unstoppable running backs. If CAK can avoid turnovers they could win by a couple of touchdowns, yet no one is perfect so I say it comes down to a good kicking team . CAK only loss to Greenback by a 4th quarter touchdown (stupid clockkeepers! jk - - just had to throw that in for all the Coalfield complainers), when the paper predicted a blow out. CAK has improved a whole lot since then, and yet Greenback showed Oneida they ain't dead yet. If CAK plays like they played against Midway they will lose by two touchdowns, but if they play like they played against Cloudland they could win by two touchdowns. We skimmed some greenwaves; I believe we can break some greenbacks. Will we? Be a fan! Come to the game and see! - a humble, realistic, and prideful CAK fan GO WARRIORS!
  12. Well for one they are a 'new' team with a good coach and some talent - I wouldn't say 'no way' but us CAKers like to take things one 'miracle' at a time. For the record: I know as much about DCA as you know about CAK.
  13. Well said! One week at time and we will see what we scrounge up.
  14. I think they can because -- well... I don't want ruin their under-dog image which seems to be working so well for them.
