It's a shame that it is that obvious to us but to others it is not. I don't claim to know it all but I do know something needs to change in a hurry or this season will end with no playoffs just like last years. 3 out of the last 4 games without scoring any points is unacceptable, that is not how Oneida plays football. The athletes are there and I know that these kids could average atleast 21-24 points a game in the right system, put that with TL's defense only giving up about 10-12 and you have to win some ball games. To the players: You guys have to stop waiting on someone else to make the play. To the seniors: It's now or never, because coming from a guy that knows first hand, it's better to do it now because if you don't you will never get to do it again. Good luck Friday night.

Apparently you don't know anything about football. If you get the ball to Lambert he will make a play for you. He did drop a pass at the end of the game friday night but the game was already over. I know you play the entire 48 min. but sometimes you lose your concentration when you are not given an opportunity to make a play the entire night. TL is a great coach but he cannot work magic every night so at some point the offense is going to have to hold up their end of the bargain.

For once Kaz made a little sense. Lambert needs to be moved back to QB if Oneida wants any chance of making the playoffs. Midway had their best athlete at QB and it worked, so hopefully Oneida took notice.

Hasn't Oneida beaten every other middle school in the county the past 2 or 3 years? I am pretty sure the same kids are still playing, so what would make it any different this time around. I have said it many times that I wish the Highlanders luck in every game that they play, but I think saying Oneida is "scared" is taking it a bit to far.

Now Kaz, you know as well as I do that Oneida doesn't count all of their students because they don't want to be in 2A.

Just so you will know a little bit about Oneida......The 92' State Championship Team was 1A but the team that went to the Final Four in 94' was in 2A. The team that went to the Final Four in 97' lost to Trousdale Co., who won back to back championships. When you beat teams like South Pittsburg, Trousdale Co, and BGA.......I wouldn't call them pushovers. When the time comes for Oneida to play 2A again then I promise you they will not cry and complain, they will just strap it up and play the games.

I don't know if I would be calling people names because those are some pretty dang good "preppy's". I really hope that SHS plays better than they did last Friday because AE couldn't even hang with Fulton and Catholic. The players need to stick to football and let us has beens do the talking on Coacht.

Several Region Championships, Final Fours, and State Champs..........Yeah I can understand why that is hard to respect. Coalfield and Williamsburg, Ky are very good football teams.

I enjoy playing armchair quarterback because if I make a bad call then I don't have to worry about idiots like me saying "what kind of stupid call was that" I just have fun giving my opinion and getting certain people fired up such as kaz, cyjacket, theanswer9 & his many aliases, and several others who have come and gone. I was referring to the T formation.

The defense has looked pretty good all year and the offense has had its highs and lows. We are going to have to find a way to consistently score some points to win the games remaining on our schedule. I saw a few things at Oakdale that make me feel a lot better about the second half of the season. 1. We got #8 the ball and he made a big play. 2. #5 made a play with the ball in his hands. 3. The "T" looked pretty good at the end of the game. If they can figure out a way to keep those 3 things happening in the next 5 games, Oneida is going to make some noise. Hey Kaz......sometimes you will come across a Joe Blo that does know a thing or two.

First of all, I am out of school, have a job, a family, and I am quite successful. Second, this is a board to give your opinions on and that is what I did. There was a better way to do it I know and I apologize for it coming out that way but I want to see Oneida get back to the way they were in the 90's. Jim Burchfield is a good coach, I know because I played for him, but I think (just my opinion) there are ways to get other players involved in the offense. I don't have to critique myself because I know that I wasn't any good but they say "just because I can't do it don't mean I don't know how to do it". If I offended anyone I am sorry and I will keep my rude comments to myself from now on, but you better believe that I am gonna keep posting about Oneida Football!!!!!

Why go away from what is working, I mean running it up the middle has produced....what.....0 POINTS the last 2 games. Something has got to change and it needs to change quickly or the playoffs will continue to be something of the past. Get the playmakers the ball in everyway possible because that is the only way points are going to be put on the board. Keep your head up 8........they will eventually start coming your way.

If you had any idea of what was going on at Oneida before the coaching change took place then you would have known it was way over due. I personally wish Jimmy May was still there and for the D-Coordinator, Tony Lambert does his job....PERIOD

I totally agree that you should play by ability not by grade but Buttram has done nothing to lose his position, and if Jeffers is that good then I am sure TL will find a spot to put him. #8 hungry????........are you kidding? He is starved!

Now Kaz, I only said that it will hurt them some. Jeffers has the potential to make some plays but if he was better than Buttram wouldn't he be starting? I hope that the Qb is on his back to, but the boys are going to have to gang tackle because he is not an easy cat to bring down.

I would say that the secondary is the most experienced part of the defense but with Buttram out it will hurt them some. This game is not going to be one sided and Oneida is going to have to score some points to be able to play with this team.
