How does anyone see the game tonight between Alcoa and Webb? I know that Alcoa came out shaky the first game, but more than likely has improved the defensive and rebounding mishaps that occured during the first game. Look for this current team to mold together and become a strong "Team" especially before the Footballers join in.

I have to agree that Catholic looks improved from last year, especially with their PG and overall guard play. However, Alcoa looked strong, w/ Ridenour and Stubby probably combining for about 90% of the points scored. Defense and Rebounding were shaky at times, and Ridenour might have to watch the travels down the road, but overall a very good game for a shorthanded Alcoa team.

Lake Burnett kids....great motivational speaker, but hasn't done #### yet thumb

David Marsh.... 1967 McDonald's All-American from Alcoa. Led the team to a state championship his final year.

I think that WB and Maryville looked strong. I can't really provide an accurate review of Alcoa and Heritage, considering Alcoa doesn't have it's players from football, and they played Heritage's JV.
The Marsh Pit, as always was very good, until folks started leaving. Just wait till the real season starts up.
I think that the FB-less Alcoa team has already made huge strides and will continue to get better.

Tom, I won't ever count out the Marsh Pit, but I am seriously afraid of some of our Band-wagon riders jumping off after the first couple games, before we get an actual team. I'm hype about the Marsh Pit being there on Monday though. Look for a very fundamental defensive approach at the BC Jamboree.

Daniel Stubblefield- Alcoa. Had 9 3's today in a scrimmage. Made 25 straight in a shooting drill the other day in practice. Range is unlimited.

Personally Coolkid, Alcoa might have some early season struggles due to the lack of a solid post (due to football), and all around depth (ditto). HOWEVER, after the FB season concludes, which might not be until Dec. , I think that Alcoa will play spoiler in many big games. Alcoa is not getting much love this year, because of the lack of information on the team after losing 6 seniors, especially Pasqua and Dean. Alcoa will be deep, and Marsh will definetely have the team competing with it's killer D. Look for Stubblefield and Ridenour to be dominant outside players, with the long-bombs and drives, respectively, and they should complement Warren on the inside very well.

Marsh Pit....Bringin the big house down in Alcoa... Enough Said

you better watch it Tom. He may deploy his secret knowledge of the 2A on your inferior mind

Alcoa didn't look to good tonight vs. McMinn County, simply because of our lack of football players, but I have to say that McMinn has stepped their game up a notch. Their big man (name?) has become a force to be reckoned with, instead of someone wasting space.

Alright, well now that it has taken me about 30 minutes to read all of these other ridiculous posts, I reckon I can finally throw my 2 cents in. The problem I found though, was there is not much to talk about in this game. Typically, I don't predict big wins by Alcoa, especially when I don't know much about the other team, but this time I will, simply because of one fact. Alcoa's defense. Now I know that Alcoa's defense has not exactly been the most talked about grouping of players this year, but I believe that we could beat almost any team, with our special teams, and defense alone. When your team averages at least a touchdown a game from each, it get's your attention. However, since we do have to throw in Alcoa's dominant offense, I will say that Alcoa will at least score 50, and hampton will not score more than 10.

Lipscomb lost a lot of players after last year's blowout of our young, somewhat experienced Alcoa 'team'. This year is completely different. While Lipscomb lost a lot of talented players, Alcoa pretty much returned every starter. Another thing, this Alcoa group of players is truly a team. They have bought into the win as a team, lose as a team philosophy, and that helps a great deal. With all of that bulljive being said, if Lipscomb actually makes it to the 4th round, then I think Alcoa will win by 14.

Has everyone forgot about Alcoa hello. This year and most definitly next.

Just of an example of what could happen this week: Florida lost to MSU...Now with that said, I don't think we will have that kind of let down, and I see Alcoa winning by at lest 42.

I think Auburn and Oklahoma are currently #1 and #2. As for the Big Orange:
We need embarrassed players and coaches of Florida to come out and squeak one out against UGA.
We need 2 teams ahead of us in the BCS rankings to fall.
We need to beat Auburn. I think, that if we do all of this, that there is a good possiblity that we can go to the Nat'l championship, especially if AU is ranked like #2 when we play them in the Georgia Dome...(If we play them, I don't want to jinx us)
GO VOLS!

Hmmmm... I think you need to click on that banner at the top of this page, because Sigmund Freud would have a field day with you. Do you dream orange? Are you obsessed with Oompa Loompas (oh wait, that's Texas orange).
What have the Tennessee Vols ever done for you, other that swallow your wallet? Does the University of Tennessee send you birthday/Christmas cards? How about Peyton Manning? Tee Martin, perhaps?
I'm sorry, but being obsessed with something like that isn't good for your mind. After all, how depressed are you after a Vols loss?[/color]
Ya I'm pretty depressed after a loss. Tennessee doesn't have to do anything for me, because they give me the excitement that I need. I absorb every amount of news that I ever see about UT. I was raised on UT Football, and I'll probably die cheerin on UT. I have dreamed about UT football. And to tell you the truth, I don't lose money goin over to the games, because I scalp tickets.

Supposedly Heritage is going to be much improved also. I know Justin Bruce is capable of leading a Vandy like team to a cinderella year. Should be anywhere from a 2-4 team race this year for the champ. but certainly no blowouts.
