Speedy,
I agree. I have many connections in the "mo" town area and they are chomping at the bit to get at a carter team that they think is very overrated. They believe that carter's kids will be getting the big head with their top 10 ranking and think they just have to show up to win. According to someone very close to their program, their defense hasn't really stepped up and hit anybody yet and, even though their running backs have played pretty well, they seem to go down pretty easy. I've not seen them play myself, but if they come out flat friday look out.

I heard that most of mariville's fans go both ways also. alcoa is the new powerhouse in blount co.

fulton loses at least 4 games this year.
ae will struggle after losing stevens.
look for someone else to dominate the region.

who really cares about any of this? maryville fans, please leave the politics to the higher thinkers and get back to following and reporting on maryville's summer practices.

FBE, I'll sign up and play in your tournament under a couple of conditions. First, you guys comp my entry fee. Second, I play in a foursome with GQ. I think I could teach him a few things about coaching football over the course of the round. I'm cleaning my clubs up as we speak. Let me know the course and the time.

For those Maryville supporters, and you haters (We'll take your Money) don't forget that this Saturday, April 30th at 1:00PM, The MHS Boosters will host the Annual Gold 4-Man Best ball. You still have Friday to sign-up. Contact the AD @ 983-5339. See you there
You mean you guys have to actually raise money? I thought in the perfect world of maryville that boosters would be lining up to contribute to the mecca of football programs. I can think of better ways than a golf tournament ....just try raiding the concession stand cash box or, heck, just make your own money.

why is it that anytime anyone is critical of maryville you sheep always assume it's me? is it really that hard for you to believe that the whole world isn't in love with GQ?

If you look at the West program before Cummings got there to where they are now, it is a night and day difference. I think he does an outstanding job in getting his kids to play hard and utilizing the talent they have. As HTV said, its the kids that have to make the plays. I could see Cummings moving to a higher profile program as a head coach in the near future.
the guy may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, i don't really know or care. however, for you guys to make him out to be the next Gen. Neyland after a couple of mediocre years at west is comical. best i can remember, west's program wasn't that bad before he got there. rogers did a decent job until his last year. heck, they even mud-hole stomped maryville a couple of times. as for last year, didn't halls beat them? a team with "average" talent, as you guys like to say, beats a team with a superior coach and talented players? please explain.

I'm absolutely sold on Scott Cummings and his staff. They seem to be able to adapt to their talent as well as any coaching staff in the area. I know they lost a ton of skill in Varnado, Hootie, and Nate Martin, but Cummings will find a way to make the Rebels competitive. They really should have been a playoff team last year. They let a couple of games that they should have won get away from them.
you're absolutely sold on cummings and his staff, yet you say they should have been a playoff team last year and should have won a couple of games that they didn't? interesting.

thanks for pointing out my mistaken metaphor there, dmoron. you bring another one to mind: "people who live in double-wides shouldn't throw stones," or something to that effect.
-
hmm....what about maryville?
-
a wise man once told me, "the team that scores the most points will win. whether or not it's on a dry field really doesn't matter." you boys need to quit splitting nails and get focused. remember, hindsight is 50/50.

typical maryville sheep responses. you guys better get back down to the field house...i'm told that his new desk has room for both of you underneath it.
-
fisheye, i'm afraid it isn't a schtick. it seems that it's a speech disfunction that occurs over time in those who have spent too much time kissing the rear end of GQ.
-
dumoyers, you and the rest of the maryville sheep must be hurting for something to do. did GQ finally kick you guys out of the field house? guess he got tired of the noses being up his behind, huh? as for your assumptions regarding my identity, it is really humorous. you guys are wearing some poor guy on the halls coaching staff out b/c you think he is me. i can assure you of 2 things: 1) i don't coach football, and 2) if i did, the last thing i'd be doing is taking notes at a clinic from GQ.
now get back to worshiping your GQ statue out there.
-
dumoyer, you are correct. unlike yourself, i don't know and don't care to know anything about balls hitting me in the head. btw, you seem to have a hang-up about shortness. are you trying to tell us something?
