Speedy, I agree. I have many connections in the "mo" town area and they are chomping at the bit to get at a carter team that they think is very overrated. They believe that carter's kids will be getting the big head with their top 10 ranking and think they just have to show up to win. According to someone very close to their program, their defense hasn't really stepped up and hit anybody yet and, even though their running backs have played pretty well, they seem to go down pretty easy. I've not seen them play myself, but if they come out flat friday look out.

fulton loses at least 4 games this year. ae will struggle after losing stevens. look for someone else to dominate the region.

who really cares about any of this? maryville fans, please leave the politics to the higher thinkers and get back to following and reporting on maryville's summer practices.

the guy may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, i don't really know or care. however, for you guys to make him out to be the next Gen. Neyland after a couple of mediocre years at west is comical. best i can remember, west's program wasn't that bad before he got there. rogers did a decent job until his last year. heck, they even mud-hole stomped maryville a couple of times. as for last year, didn't halls beat them? a team with "average" talent, as you guys like to say, beats a team with a superior coach and talented players? please explain.

you're absolutely sold on cummings and his staff, yet you say they should have been a playoff team last year and should have won a couple of games that they didn't? interesting.

a wise man once told me, "the team that scores the most points will win. whether or not it's on a dry field really doesn't matter." you boys need to quit splitting nails and get focused. remember, hindsight is 50/50.

I see this one shaping up as a race between Powell, Central, and Halls. Powell came on strong towards the end of last season, Central returns it's usual speed and defense, and Halls will surge with a new head coach. Can anyone else in the region compete with these 3?

based on the few games i've seen, halls coaching staff outcoaches about 90% of the region. adding a couple of new faces will probably move that up to about 100%. maryville's coaching staff is included in that first 90%, by the way.
