  1. I am going with Columbia in this one, they are riding a momentum train and Baylor is next on their track, Not sure about Baylor, I have nto seen them play but I am not convinced they are among the tops in their division, winning is not traditional for them, they are generally in the middle of the pack as they are still in my mind.

    beat a 3-4 soddy daisy

    beat a 3-3 McCallie

    beat a 4-3 Father Ryan

    Beat a 5-2 Bradley Central

    beat a 3-5 MBA

    beat a 7-1 Ensworth

    lost to a 7-1 BA

Baylor is no doubt solid and very capable but world beaters, lets hold up, with that being said, I do not think that Columbia is near the team that they were last season but they are more use to winning 7 more wins in the last 3 years, and seem to play good in teh big games, 9-1 in the last two years in the play offs, while Baylor is 3-2.

I am a smyrna backer and I am not sure what team you follow but you are WAY off here buddy. Baylor beat Ensworth by a large margin and Ensworth would beat Columbia by 35. Baylor lost to BA by 3 points and BA would beat Columbia by 35. I would even go out on a limb here and say MBA and McCallie would beat Columbia by 14 or more. Different world that Columbia is going into this week. DII AA is superior to every division in state. (even 7AAA)

  2. Your blunt words are refreshing...I normally have to read my own posts to find a "tell it like it is post" like yours. Congratulations for not attempting to be a sickening politically correct poster like so many try to be. I respect your candor, whether I agree with you or not.

Sorry I get so fired up. I went on and on about this stuff last year. There is something wrong with a system when you can be seated higher in a class when you play your regular season games in a district that does not allow you to play games in your real class. Last year Dickson Co and Brighton both did not win a 6A game and they were able to host a 6A playoff game. (I think Dickson did win one 6A game Rossview and this was the only 6A on their schedule) It just doesn't make sense. I already look at this year and a Blackman or Oakland in our district or Franklin Brentwood in the other Middle TN district could finish 2nd in their district and have a 7-3 record and a Dickson Co. will finish second and be 8-2. They will come into our Quad and be seeded higher. Makes NO sense.

  3. I read what he said, but what's he going to say? I have been a coach, and he has to say what he just said. The fact is however, that Liberty is just fair or below, and Beech is fair at best. The terrible district opponents aren't his fault. If he wants to play a tough schedule the first two weeks, he needs to schedule Ensworth one of those weeks. They are always looking for games. Riverdale is another opponent who is good on a yearly basis. But I think the schedule is just fine like it is...I have ALWAYS stated that playing a tough team or two in August or early September has no carryover at all to the playoffs in November...and whoever thinks it does is a fool (sorry olddevil).

Riverdale, Smyrna, and Oakland where all looking for games to open season. Riverdale will end up traveling to Brighton and Oakland all the way to Arlington next year to start the season. Those teams came up here this year.

The T$$AA is to blame and this is one of the districts that makes me sick! Dickson County will go 8-2 before it is all said and done and will be seated with a high seed. Brighton got destroyed by 6A riverdale and will host a playoff game by only beating Millington (the only other 6A on schedule) T$$AA makes me sick

  4. I keep hearing that Rutherford County football is much stronger than Williamson County football. I completely disagree. Yes, the public schools in Rutherford County have produced and are still producing some great teams. But, if you take into consideration that Williamson County has Brentwood Academy, Ensworth, Battle Ground Academy, Father Ryan, and MBA pulling some of the best athletes from the public schools, one would have to concur that Williamson County is loaded with incredible athletes too. Rutherford County does not have these kind of schools in their backyard pulling their best athletes away. Anyone else have a take on this?

This may be the worst post of all time! Just ask where Corn Elder is zoned and you get your answer. Those schools pull from everywhere!

  5. Warning…this is a frustration post….why is anyone surprised that the MBA football team is off to a poor start 1-3 and has surrendered a school-record 150 points and 1500 yards in 3 games? Despite having more talent than in recent years, the D is sloppy, not prepared, and looks like they don’t know what to do. We are 4 games into the season and our opponents are even calling us out in the newspaper.

Let’s go old-school and stop trying to do what you saw in the last game on TV. Run a base fifty defense and learn what to do. This will give our playmakers a chance to tackle.

Another first post to talk bad about the coach! Congratulations. Do you feel better about yourself now? I can assure you that we all know Coach Euverard very well and in no way is he watching something on TV and running what he saw. He will do a good job if allowed to. Despite having more talent than in recent years? So, you must be a huge fan that has seen MBA many times. Why come on here and try to belittle a coach if you are such a fan? Sounds like sour grapes to me? huh? am I right?

  6. Chris Chauvin was the RB and DB coach at BGA and even called the offense for their JV last year. Why is he the D coordinator?

And with your first post ever I guess you are who? Did you get overlooked for the job and are now jealous? Or did Coach Chauvin not play you and you are trying this way to get back at him?

  7. Rebels look to build off a 38-0 thrashing of McGavock, while Hilsboro is coming off a lost to East Literature. Franklin is the heavy favorite, but may get caught looking ahead to Smyrna next week. Hilsboro has been on a steady decline in recent years. Predictions anyone?

Will not even be close! Rebels will win by 5 TDs or more. I just hate that you guys are getting all this extra practice for Smyrna because no way you are worried about Hillsboro. See you next week.

  8.

Will the district get five in the playoffs this year....

Five would be deserving and all five could win a game in the playoffs. Problem will come when my two favorite schools to get mad about go 7-3 or better and they play 1 6A team. Messed up system. But I will say even in the old one 5 would not make it as only 4 from each region went. So we just need to win!

  9. The one site from out west has it Blackman 38, Oakland 21. I think I'll take that 17 points.

Blackman has lost to Siegel, falling to 0-2 in the district would put them in a tough situation. Oakland has a non-league loss which means the district games are even more important.

I'm thinking Oakland wins it 21-14 on the strength of ther defense.

I'd love to be able to see this one...

Will the district get five in the playoffs this year....

    I say Oakland 14 Blackman 10

  10. Smyrna has only lost once to LaVergne. i dont think that changes this year. look for Smyrna to take out some frustration from last weeks last second loss. 35-7 Smyrna. Go Dawgs!!!

I look for the Dawgs to bounce back and get the victory. A win is needed here as other big games come down the stretch. We need to get this one and next week and then on to Blackman and Oakland. One game at a time. Lets get the win here then focus on the next one.
