Columbia plays at 2pm and 3pm at Blackman Saturday. They play Glencliff and Blackman.

Columbia should be fun and exciting to watch this year. They have no seniors. Claybourne, Sparkman and Cotton should be their leaders. They have a couple of kids who can shoot the "3". And their coach(Moore) is pregnant and due the week of district tournament.

As always, expect them to be quick and athletic. Should be very competitive.

It has always been a girls only tournament. This year, they have added two boys games. I think they really want to try and keep it a mostly girls tournament. Columbia boys were wanting to stay close to home so they added two boys games to Saturday only.

Columbia Rotary Thanksgiving Classic is shaping up to be once again one of the biggest and best Thanksgiving Tournaments in the SOUTH! They have 22 girls high school teams committed. They are also adding some middle school teams to the tourney this year. The tourney continues to grow each year.

They are still looking for one girls team to come and play both days, November 28-29. They are also looking for teams who have one game left on their schedule to come and play on Saturday only. Just saw on the Marshall County Newspaper web-site that he has resigned to spend more time with his family. He will continue to teach at Marshall COunty. The article said the Boyd West(who is the Assistant) is the favorite to take over the job.

Just saw on TSSAA web-site where Marshall Co is looking for a new Girls Basketball coach. Does anyone have details on Steely? He just won the AA State Championship. Details?

I am not 100% on this, but I don't think they can coach a team(AAU) or give individual instruction for money. They can coach and give instruction- just can't recieve compensation for it.

They can work a college camp and make money ( this is how many college kids make money in the summer!).

I don't understand all the NCAA rules. Some of them are very crazy!

The East girls won. Don't know the score. The West team had more talent, but East played as a team. Dana Jackson from Franklin Co. was named MVP for the East.
