  1. Ah come on now, sure they can. They just can't do it while dribbling. Ain't nothing like having your own turn on you. If you turn on them now don't come back if they turn it around later. They don't need any fair weather fans.
  2. So last night they weren't playing hard. In your opinion what was lacking?
  3. Cody hit the last shot but the whole team was responsible for the win. They all had a hand in it at critical times.
  4. Well, were you at the Unicoi game? Is it still a stretch?
  5. Neither Sheets nor Lewis are on the team. We also lost a good sophomore. Yes they will struggle and only time will tell how they react, but they are plenty capable of being as good as anyone. Are you from Unaka nosebleed? I notice that you have just joined. I don't figure you are cause we ain't got no nosebleed section at Unaka.
  6. We are average sized, we rarely have anyone over 6-4. The boys make up for it by playing hard. As far as I know there isn't any major height on it's way from the underclassmen but you never know. The way they eat somethings got to give, one of them may shoot up 6" overnight. We only have 3 seniors this year.
  7. Which two games did you see?
  8. It's an annual Thanksgiving tradition for Unaka not to perform well at Pickett Co. I don't think anyone really knows why. I personally really don't care, we will be fine as time moves on.
  9. Jenkins is a good player and will get his points but our defense allowed the 37pts. he should have only had around 20 or so if we would have kept him out of the paint. The outside 3's were all him and some of the insiders but for the most part we had a bad defensive showing. The second and third chance points killed us too, but I believe this will all be ironed out with a little time.
  10. He's harmless, if he gets too annoying I'll take care of him, I need some excersize anyway.
  11. I never heard anyone ask for a break. They ran for 12 minutes, same as y'all did. We only had 1 that had been in football that played. We are in shape and ready to play, come game time you will find that out.
  12. There will be more to talk about after the jamboree.
  13. Nobody mentioned it to us, you should have said something. If we had known it was our turn, we would have.
  14. Joey Skogen is next in line for Temple's throne.
  15. I hope the Unaka/Unicoi games are as good as they were last year, those were some of our best last season.
  16. He's got you there, Bookman. It's best to let the teams do the talking on the court.
  17. That game looked like the March of the Penguins.
  18. It was more than 20, and I think Harry Potter had more to do with the way they played in that particular game. This is a new season and I think things will be much more competitive this year although Temple is probably the favorite and will be a hard test.
  19. Ranger87 to Rangerbook06, come in Rangerbook06. What are your predictions for the tournament? Over.....
  20. Where'd you go Book? What's with this "roll tide" anyway? Harriman, Ooltewah, Temple, Cloudland, Hampton and Unaka are the six teams in the Butler Classic tournament this year.
  21. If you take the best competition out of 1A what's the point of playing. Good competition will improve your program whether you win or lose. If you make the 1st round of the playoffs beating up on rinky dink schools you end up back home by the second round.
  22. Hey, turn off the Tide. It's hurting my eyes.
  23. Being from Northeast Tennessee it was nice to only have a five hour drive vs. nine or ten hours. We went to Memphis the last three years and it's just too much, even though Memphis was just fine as a host. I would like to see Spring Fling in the East but that makes it hard on the West. I think Murfreesboro is a good place to keep it for all concerned, and they did an excellent job this year. Riverdale's field was in great shape, I wish my lawn looked that nice. That being said, if we make it back we'll go wherever we have to.
  24. And you are? I suppose we're the worst team to ever get to the state tournament the last FOUR years. (By the way tournament has a 'U' in it, we also know how to spell up here in the east.) It's kind of fun being a joke.
  25. I'm not going to say Unaka will win today, they have to play their best ball of the year today, but the fact that Washburn is in the substate is not a shame, nor does it say anything about the talent level in Region 1. They beat a North Greene team who was on a roll and had a very good District tournament to get where they were. North Greene beat Unaka and University High. That ain't too shabby. If my memory serves correctly Unaka beat a good Harriman team to advance to Memphis two years ago and an excellent Rockwood team last year to go to Memphis. That does say something about the talent level of Region 1. You have to play your best at the end, records don't mean a thing.
