  1. Congrats to CAK on their 4th championship. Question though. What is BigG gonna do when he's not banking on Platillero's players to bail him out anymore?
  2. Papatj, Youre probably not surprised because youve seen this scenario play out more times than you'd like to think. BigFly, I know the father of which you speak. If hes going to throw around a bunch of money at the Christian Academy baseball program to benefit his son and his teammates, he probably ought to send his son to SAQ or D1 first. Splainshornet, I know you know your stuff. If Coach Pharr were to go to CAK that would be huge for such talents as Keenan Kolinsky and BR. Smith who will no doubt be the core for this team for the next couple years. My biggest problem with the firing of Coach Gum is the same problem i had with the firing of Buzz Peterson. Coach Gum had a team with 3 upperclassmen starters, 1 of those was a part-time DH. I dont think its fair to get rid of a coach who hasnt had the opportunity to see his core group of players go through. I am much opposed to the firing of Coach Gum but i have been around the program only 1 less year than him and i have seen some of the things that he has been able to do with talent that is less than the average school.
  3. Doubledrip, CAK has the money to go after any big name coach that they want as they did with Coaches Young and Darden but as voldad showed us without meaning to do so, who is CAK anyways? Why would a coach like Pharr or Wormsley or Buckner who are in good situations want to leave for a school that went 10-10 and was carried by arguably the best player in the state. Papatj, As sad as it is to say, i would think that Coach Gum's departure can be more attributed to the first of your assumptions rather than the second. It really is a shame that some people would rather look at the win-loss column instead of the character building and the life lessons that a coach can teach. I wish the best for the players at CAK but im afraid the administration, aided by some parents with well endowed checkbooks, may have just hurt the baseball program more than they helped it.

    CAK

Big Perrine had a bad night
  5. Steven Hensley is the man when it comes to shooting, even saw him hitting some treys, NBA range.
  6. are you kidding? CAK, while a decent team, cannot match up with Cosby. The whole being at the Nest thing doesnt help CAK much either. The win streak is about to come to an end. Cosby by 20
  7. out in Morgan Co., rumor has it that Coalfield standout, Steven Hensley is interested in attending CAK for his senior year. I wonder why.....
  8. just as long as they arent the dirty cheating clock keepers that left my Morgan County brothers out of the football playoffs, i dont care who keeps the clock
  9. defenitley right with that one Chopper, Cosby is on a completley different level of competition than CAK and CAK better pray that Cosby doesnt absolutley destroy them at home.
  10. give me a break, Bill Satterfield is one of the classiest coaches ever. He has done so much for the Greenback community. Its not his fault that some coaches are cheaters and they like to get players that dont belong to them. Why dont we all just take a step back and realize that Coach Satterfield is a heck of a coach, a heck of a man, and a heck of a good sport.
  11. for Larry, okay, you will. Good thing there is no clock keeper in baseball for Bubba, well, i think that if you and your CAK fellows wouldve been in the Jackets situation, you would feel the same way. And how do we know that if CAK wouldnt have won that game, that Coalfield or another Region 2 team wouldve made it that far and maybe even beat Boyd. CAK had no right to be there. FLUKE!!!
  12. im defenitley not from Coalfield, im just sick of seeing big bad CAK talk about how they can beat any team they want. Youns got lucky against Coalfield, Cloudland, Midway and Greenback. And the only good team youns have beaten this year in basketball is Rockwood and from what i hear, they played terrible that night.
  13. i agree with that CY, Coalfield clearly has the upper hand though, being cheated out of a football victory(and you CaK people know it too), and winning the first basketball game and then most likely winning the second, i also hear the Coalfield's baseball team is looking good this year too.
  14. Dalton, I dont remember the exact amount of points scored by either team last time, but Coalfield was clearly the better team. What makes you think that CAK has any chance of beating Coalfield this time around when last time, it was a fairly decisive victory?
