  1. Winston is a good coach, with another good team, and even though I sure believe in Rudesill....I never believed Haywood would be down. Bolivar just has to go through some rebuilding. They'll be OK though. Haywood and Liberty are OK now from the looks of it!
  2. I haven't followed #21 for Liberty(just don't really know him is all), but I agree with the rest of what you said. I also hope that this becomes a real rivalry! I think it'll be good for both programs. And I hope the refs just let 'em play ball!!!
  3. AFTER reading my initial post, I can see where you guys thought I was criticizing the Crusaders. I wasn't...it just came across wrong. The whole intent was to say they showed class last night in their quotes FF out.
  4. No montague1. I either misspoke or you didn't get me right on that post. I only meant to compliment the team for their quotes in the paper this AM. That's all. I just assume that Dexter expects the same from his athletes as Rick R. does at BCHS. I didn't mean to disrespect you guys...quite the contrary really. Anything can happen of course, but it seems to be Liberty's year. All teams have their ups and downs. And Dexter IS a great coach. And as far as the problem that happened with Willie getting smacked last year, I know that almost all of the administration went out of their way to try and make amends,,,they're not on the floor. They did all they could do. I was complimenting you guys. Not putting you down.
  5. At times, I'm one of the first to criticize Liberty when/if they deserve it...but the article in the Jackson Sun this AM really did show how much class some of those players have. And I'm not being sarcastic here. (Link on Home Page-Coach T.) The game was closer than the final at times and those young men had the guts to say it! They still got a big win. Before I get jumped on, I know the final score is what matters. We took a thumpin' last night. We know it. But it was nice to see some of the Crusaders say what was on their mind anyway. I think it showed what type of players they are. If you haven't seen it...give it a read. And, I've gotta say it....the Tigers will be back!!! You know you gotta stick by your team after all. In case you've read this before...I edited it for clarification...it was intended as a compliment to the team.
  6. Not much last night...except for a very few minutes! Rudesill will bring 'em around though. But' you're right about last night.
  7. All the best to Liberty this year...really. But to believe that they can't be stopped, at least once, between now and the Finals at MTSU? There's a difference between confidence and OVERconfidence. After all, I bet Coach Williams doesn't want those players to be overconfident!
  8. I know for a fact that Coach Turner had no impact on Coach Varnado or Rick Rudesill. I don't want to take anything away from Turner...but Winston and Rick both went to Union...as did Terry Hill. As far as Coach Hill at N.S. goes, granted he might not have always won the Championship, but if you look at his overall record, it's not so bad. Rudesill's record speaks for itself and Winston hasn't seemed to have lost all that much from last year either--we'll soon see. Both of these program's have good coaches...but are now where Liberty will probably be next year--rebuilding. Thank goodness all 3 have good coaches to oversee the job. Dexter is a great coach. And I'm sure Coach Turner had a lot of influence on him...but there have been other great coaches out of UU before Coach Turner even got there. And there are many more good coaches who had nothing to do w/ Union...I realize that.
  9. I didn't see it---just heard it---so can't speak to the officiating. But what aggravates me is that Bolivar has players that need to step up, consistently, and TAKE CHARGE! Maybe it'll come with experience...but if they'd have done a little more of that tonight, the score might've been even closer. Now, a win? Who knows? It was a 3-5 pt. gap somewhere around half time, so even though the Tigers might not have won...it'd been closer. Just my opinion.
  10. I believe Liberty will win...but it depends on how you define "blowout". On another thread a few people said Bolivar would lose to Liberty by 25 pts! Granted it was still 17 and we're not happy w/ it...but no 25 pts. Mitchell is a great team Galilee...but Liberty has the horses this year. But as an educator myself, I appreciate your reasoning behind the emphasis on academics. I guess all of us need more of that. TOTAL guess---Liberty by 12 or 13 pts. Not sure if that's a blowout though.
  11. I didn't see this post until after the Liberty game... I'll admit that I've been hanging back somewhat because Rudesill is in the midst of a rebuilding year AND I don't read a much of the boards b/c some people who post just aren't ever gonna give Bolivar any respect---no matter if they're successful or not. I give all the props in the world to Liberty this year. They deserve it. Crusader fans...enjoy it now, because Dexter will have to go through the rebuilding process sometime next year. And by the way...as the year goes on, Bolivar will improve and be better than many think. For a minute I thought they had Mitchell last Sat. night! The 3rd quarter got them though. But, that doesn't matter tonight...Bolivar kept it close for a while, but the final is what matters. Later, FF
  12. Man, I don't know if that will tell all of it or not...but it should be a good indicator of what we have for sure...I agree.
  13. "oooh, soft spot"? You're right. It was about Liberty...not Bolivar fans "hushing this year"....right?
  14. Look. As a Bolivar fan, I feel by Liberty just like I did BCHS last year... the Liberty guys ARE the champs until it's taken from them. They are the team to beat. I noticed in the Jax Sun that they already realize others are gunning for them and let me say---YOU BET YOUR LIFE THEY ARE!!! Comes with the territory...as I'm sure they know. But, even though many others didn't say the same about BCHS last year--but no matter...my money is on Liberty until/unless they show they don't deserve the respect that comes with the crown. But others will have to TAKE it. They are the champs and won't just give it away. One thing however...they are LOADED with talent. Good for them. But enjoy this year Liberty fan...rebuilding, to some extent, isn't far off. Any true fan should know that. AND.... Hoops, I just read this: And even though I just finished giving props to Liberty...I'm ONE BCHS fan who's NOT on the "hush". And won't be. It will be interesting to read your comments as the season(and next) goes by. Just what have you got against Bolivar anyway? Whatever it is...you should try getting over it, since a BCHS fan can't even pay your beloved team a compliment. If we lose...I for one won't claim a riot ensued or the refs stole it as "some" fans did last year.
  15. I believe Bolivar will be better than many of you think. Now I won't pick the number of wins, since I agree ---some clutch players must step up!!! But, I believe they will. It may not be the BCHS team of the last few years...but they'll do better than anticipated. Rudesill and staff will end up with a good team eventually. They've been here before after losing some cluth players. And there is a lot of time left in this season.
  16. Peanut from Bolivar! Can't compete with Watergirls I guess...
  17. I've shaken myself and I'm still living in West Tennessee! Hey...I gave SS their props. But I have to be behind our team. You'd be the same way.
  18. All they need is one point to beat you guys! I said they have the ability this year. That's a good deal better than the last few years. I resent you calling us crazytown! I hope we win, but I also realize what a great team SS has. But I do hope it's closer than you say in your post. Just wait 'til B-ball season!!!
  19. The train you hear just might be an underestimated, vastly improved Tiger train. It'll be close and I respect SS...but the Tigers do have the ability to beat them this year. In years past, I'd agree with you. But the Tigers have a real chance this season.
  20. Wah, wah...the refs have it in for FW. Come on. Bolivar has improved and has surprised some people that's all. I don't know how far they'll go but no one expected them to be in the hunt did they?
  21. Rick Rudesill from Bolivar has got to be on this list somewhere!
  22. Wayne was underrated by many people in high school. I'd like to see him do a good job and start at UT. He's a hard worker and I hope it pays off for him.
  23. Don't usually post in Football, but the Bolivar Tigers are improving over here. I'll say Bolivar by 10.
  24. You know, you're both right really. But he is a great decision maker on the floor and can take the game over when he needs to. VERY few times when he hasn't done it and heck---nobody's absolutely perfect! Not even Willie! Uh...so you're both right???
