Walkenvol, How ironic that you would invite Bradley just 25 miles down the road.....Sounds familiar. Sort of like when I invited you several weeks ago to travel the same 25 miles or pick up the phone and address Coach Logsdon man to man. For you to assume that I would take time away from my family and other interests to publically explain my feelings regarding the split is just silly. (and yes, it would take that long) Why?...so that you can sit down with your pen and paper and desperately search for some flaw in my writing? Perhaps so that you can take something out of context or twist words to fit your needs? No thank you. I am completely confident that we are doing what we feel is the right thing. I don't feel any need to convince you or anyone else to come over to our "side". Ask any coach, public or private if we have tried to recruit them to our way of thinking. Again, confidence in your convictions takes away the need to be backed up by others or popular. Want to know anything about the Bradley Wrestling program?? Ask a current or past Bradley wrestler or parent what it meant to them or the lessons they took from it. That is the only feedback that concerns us. Because that is why we do this...to try to help turn these young men into good men. I am only embarrassed that I have taken this time to respond to you...what a waste of time. (Now get your pen and paper out and start on that first draft, because that certainly seems to be your style) As for me, I'm going in the back yard to play with my kids. I don't plan on doing this again with you. Good luck to you, your son and McCallie.

Petty, self-serving ideas?? 4-5 State Champions?? Pad his record?? Gee CGB, who could you be referring to? Why not just send a digital picture along with your post? Or would that not be subtle enough for you? Difference of opinion and debate are one thing, but making things personal will never lead to anything productive in this little debate. Two quick points: (ok, not so quick) Scared? Fear? Of what?? Check your record books. Bradley did fine before the split, finishing State Duals Runner up to McCallie in "93 (however, ahead of every other "DII" school) State Duals Champions in '94 (defeating Father Ryan in the finals) and State Duals Champions in '95 defeating Baylor along the way. This is to take nothing from these teams who had numerous wins against the Bears over the years, but instead only to illustrate that Bradley not only has done well recently, but before the split as well. As far as the "betterment of Tennessee Wrestling", since 1997, Bradley has produced 6 All-American placings between Josh West, Rusty Blackmon and Matt Keller, finished tied for 5th at the Va. Duals in the National division in '01 and currently has 3 wrestlers competing for Coach Brands at UTC and 2 competing in the Big 12 for Ok. State and the U. of Nebraska. Additionally they have one competing in the great state of Rhode Island (his 3rd year). Seems Bradley has done at least it's fair share to shine a positive light on TN. wrestling. To insinuate that BCHS is somehow bad for TN wrestling only demonstrates your desperation. True, the match-ups could be very entertaining, but the decision not to support some DII teams is based on principal and that alone. (and we don't ask for, nor need your agreement or approval on this subject). Bradley is currently waiting for acceptance into the VA. duals again and only last night scheduled McEachern of Atlanta for a dual meet. Scared?? Of Who?? There are those who choose to cave in to criticism and those who choose to stand by what they feel is the right thing. If you and I can't agree on what the right thing is, so be it...difference is, I won't bash you publically so that all of my friends might think I'm a "great guy". Why is it that so often when a subject is brought up, it comes back around to "We could beat Bradley" or "he could beat Keller"? Be original and move on to something else.

    1. The "Jed Clampett" affair should never have happened, was corrected and will not happen again. 2. If I read your post correctly, your idea seems to be that Bradley's success comes from their lusty desire for money? Always thought that teams were successful because of quality kids club programs, tough practice rooms, intensity, character, pride, technique, conditioning, etc..Thanks for clearing it up for me. Forget hard work and dedication coaches....go to the bank, get a loan for $1,400, sit back and watch the State titles roll in! The secret is out.
  4. I've seen some tough kids listed, but strangely, no returning state placewinners.(DI) There's something to be said for wrestlers who have actually taken home a medal. Some returners that could well be at 130. Matt Bird, State Runner up, 125 Scooter Houston, State 3rd place, 125 Jake West, State 3rd "01 and State 4th "02, 125 Max Gessler, State 6th, 125 John Lane, State Runner up, 130 Michael Creagan, State Runner up "01, State 3rd "02 Never know what weight a guy might show up at, but don't forget this bunch when you place your bets.

Sorry about the double post. Guess all of these buttons are too confusing for me. Legman

True that Brad was a great wrestler while at Baylor. True also that he was one heck of a kids club wrestler while growing up in the Bradley kids club and wrestling for Coach Belcher at Trewhitt Jr. High School. Bradley hated to lose him and is equally glad to get him back. As to Bradleys' "red hot burning hatred of all things DII",it's getting very tiresome having an individual like Mr. Manley speak for our program. It seems that he spends a lot of time speculating and spreading his obvious dislike for the Bears. Parents, boosters and friends of the program have been approached and made to feel uncomfortable by him, yet he has yet to summon the courage to actually speak to Coach Logsdon regarding the subject. Sometimes people disagree. It's a fact of life. Walkenvol, be confident in your opinions and allow others the right to disagree with you with out being continually, anonymously bashed on messageboards. I have opinions and you have opinions. Live with it or pick up the phone, but stop trying to "win people over to your side". It's not a contest....It's a disagreement.

  8. Never let it pass to disrespect Powell or the Cleveland program, do you? You must verbally run our coaches and the CHS Lady Raiders down when the least little chance comes, you are so predictable. But of course, you are entitled to your opinion so have a ball, you are quite entertaining. Coach P-Moore has been at CHS a full 3 years. The improvements in the CHS program are just beginning. There hasn't ever been a 5 on 5 "tradition" at CHS, however we are coming into our own. P-Moore is respected and admired for her perserverance and her Cleveland supporters know as she does that it can only get better.Go ahead, bang on Powell, enjoy yourself. A "poor excuse" for human beings? Well, look in the mirror.
