  1. We must be talking about 2 different plays, because on the intentional foul play I saw -- the defender pulled him down and they both crashed to the floor hard. I call that excessive contact -- besides, it was obvious he did it on purpose.
  2. FYI - I put this on another post as well. I was at this game and I saw the intentional foul call. The NFHS 2003-2004 Rules Book states.."a foul also shall be ruled intentional if while playing the ball a player causes excessive contact with an opponent". This is exactly what I saw. He pulled the guy all the way down to the ground. That was his intention...or at least that is what looked like his intention was. The game was not officiated well in my opinion. The game was way too physical and many more fouls should have been called.
  3. In response to the intentional foul call and the uneven officiating: I was at the game and the defender clearly came from behind and pulled him to the floor. He may of put one arm in front where the ball was, but his only intention was to pull him down. According to the NFHS 2003-2004 Rules Book.."a foul also shall be ruled intentional if while playing the ball a player causes excessive contact with an opponent." That is exactly what I saw. The officiating was not that good as a whole. The game was way too physical. More fouls could have been called. However, I did not see any fouls on the good McEwen player that were not called. Everytime he would bring the ball up the court he was getting bumped by #5 for NCHS and that was only called once. This was a good, physical game and you guys need to quit blaming other things for a good, hard fought loss.
