  1. ah not so grasshopper, d.p. was determined to sign early. hated the recruiting process. sec schools wanted him to wait as he was in their second tier. he could have most definitely went sec if not signing early. the tulane coach admitted as much, he thinks he came to middle tenn. and stole one from bigs
  2. sorry folks, gomab is right on about mathew. been watching him off and on for 5 years against various levels of competetion, the recruiting services have him pegged correctly at mid to low d1. he has really good offensive skills and will be able to contriubute junior and senior year as role player, not an impact player that UT needs. a hard worker and good person indeed, but does not bode well for buzz and co. to have to take chances on developing marginal high d1 talent. hope i'm completely wrong
  3. puckett will play. ankle is sore. same story as last year, played on swollen ankle in district and region
  4. change was requested by ncs. number 1 seed always plays early game on thursday to allow players to get home earlier. one of slight advantages for number 1 seed. tournament directors granted the request from ncs
  5. puckett went down last night with an ankle sprain. don't know extent, but at best will probably be slowed. nobody is talking about Houston county, they're a major sleeper imho, playing well right now, coming off win against waverly. from what i've seen, CPA the class of region. puckett's injury, of course, a major factor in the mix. for what it's worth ( not much ). my picks. ncs over houston county district 10a cpa over mcewen in close region final. the further ya go in the tourney, the more important good defense becomes, cpa, mcewen, best defensive teams. don't know much about other teams in 9a defensively.
  6. OK, enough! First of all, as a McEwen resident and fan, let me offer a sincere apology to the NCS players, fans, faculty and administration for the sign held up by the McEwen student section Tuesday night. It was completely out of line and unacceptable. I saw the sign but didn't realize what it meant. Somebody had to explain it to me a couple days later. I lead a sheltered life I guess. The bad feelings between the two schools has gone too far and needs to stop. There is plenty of blame to go around on both sides. I heard the McEwen kids yelling wannabe, wannabe at Cam last year. I saw the NCS kids holding up a sign "wee one" at Cody Hall, screaming shoot midget, shrimp. Maybe we should address the issue of "hick week/day". There simply should be no place for disrespectful actions directed at people because of their race, ethnicity, percieved social or economic status, the list goes on. Let me offer the olive branch to all on this board and to folks at both schools. It sholdn't be like this. We have 2 fine schools here, with dedicated faculty and Community, turning out teachers, doctors, farmers, with alumni in foreign lands spilling their blood so people can sit around exchanging insults over basketball? I think not!!! The unacceptable actions of the few at both schools is not and should not be represenative of the whole. Oh by the way, lost in the mire, another great game by players on both sides the other night, boys and girls. Noticed the NCS assistant coach walk right by Daniel Puckett and everyone else and shake no hands, then Puckett and J Anderson shake hands and give each other a congrats. Maybe the kids on the court are having to be examples before everyone else. LET IT CHANGE AND LET IT START WITH ME.
