District 7A got their games in last night. Jackson beat Pickett then Jackson beat #1 seed RBS. Clay #2 seed beat Monterey. Games will start at 2:00 pm today

District 7A is playing today at Clay County the field is really wet

Wow. I expected that to be a much closer game. RBS not play good or something? I heard they have some kind of all star pitcher. What happened?

I was not there was told Clay played a good defensive game. I dont know about the pitching Sydney Roach got a home run off of her Sydney is just an all around athlete evidentally

I don't even know how to respond to this. When I said D1 I actually meant major D1 programs not mid-major such as Tech, Austin Peay, UTC, etc. I have already clarified that. Christopher is a 5' 8" guard who can play anywhere. She had offers from many major D1 schools but chose UTC for her own reasons. The other girls I was talking about from CR and JC are post players who, though great players, lack the size to play post at any major D1 school. That's not a knock on them. I cetainly would never try and make them bad. They cannot help how big or small they are. Plus, I am a huge Clarkrange fan and look forward to seeing them secure the 8th state championship in the school's history (I hope). Good luck Lady Buffaloes and bring back the gold.

It looks like it was a good defensive effort on the side of both teams. Congratulations to Clay County on a hard fought win. I was shocked to hear that it was such a low scoring game.

 

I cannot comprehend any team holding Temple to just 31 points. I am not sure that Temple could hold any team to just 31 points unless they were just weak. It will be interesting to come up to Clay County again.

 

I was there when Temple lost at Clay County the last time and the loss was more about Temple beating themselves then Clay's superiority - Was there some homecooking there back then? I do not remember... /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I was also at the game and do you think that Clay could have had something to do with Temple beating themselves. Clays fans will be hard to handle so come prepared

This game did not suprise me at all I feel like Pickett could beat Jackson on any given night< it just happened to be the right night.

Has Clarkrange ever went undefeated before? Congrats to the coach and team.

Clay County comes to Clarkrange tonight with alot of momentum. The Lady Bulldogs have certainly caught everyones attention after beating Jackson County earlier this week. Should make for a good game, as I know the Bulldog faithfull will come over to watch their team.

 

Kirk may be the most improved player in the district this year and they know how to use her. And...I have to say, one of the best freshmen in this area is the Roach girl. She comes off the bench and hustles like players of old at Celina.

 

Clay County is well coached and pretty balanced.

I will agree with you Kirk has really stepped up she did not have one of her better games last night but she is a weapon undeneath and Sydney is so fun to watch. Ogeltree is also freshman she plays with alot of heart

Congratulations to CCHS on the big win. Watson, Kerr,and Kirk played with alot of heart. Kimes done very well. Roach came off of the bench with big plays.

You all from Celina and some of you from JC have no idea what it is like to have a winning boys program....you have no idea what it takes....and no, it won't be like this in two years....these sophomores are gonna be very good as seniors after getting a lot of playing time for two years...these freshman will maybe start getting time in games next year....and this group of 7th graders is gonna be good even when they get to high school in two years at freshman....this Hughes kid, 6'3 center, is a man child in 7th grade....wait til he gets to high school, all these 7a folks will be eating their words once again.

I think Clay Co knows what its like to have a winning season from what I remember Clay beat you several times when it really mattered you just need to worry about Pickett right now and Clay will worry about Clay

Clay County came on the floor a beat team worse game I have seen them play all season. They had turnover after turnover.They could not buy a basket. Free throws missed.

Congratulations to the CCHS DAWGS Ogeltree comes up with the big shot to put it in ot. Katie Kerr had a great game and Sydney Roachs defense was to much for RBS

Any truth to the rumor Sara Ogeltree is out for a couple of games due to an injury over the weekend if so that might hurt Clay Co

This will be Clays first district game will they take the win or will RBS get this one after the Clarkrange game

I read on another post were moneymaker had said Roach could not play at a high school level well you should have been at the game last night what a show she put on I do believe she is one of the best freshman in the state of Tennessee

Clay County looked very well Ogeltree and Roach got alot of playing time Roach knocked down several threes along with Sara Ogeltree
