  1. He didn't have any trouble beating Scroggins while at Lawrence Co. He may not be the answer but definitely better than the System under Scroggins. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  2. Excuse me, but Start a Winning Program? Coffee County girls have always been a WINNING PROGRAM, until Scroggins left it in shambles! I wish Coach Muckle luck but this is a program that was solid and strong until his predecessor brought in his "SYSTEM" and now everyone left is paying the consequences. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  3. Personally, no axe to grind for me. Just care about the girls basketball program at CC. Girls lost last night to conclude another year. Congrats to all the girls for their hard work and dedication. Its hard to be sitting at home during regional tourneys again. Hopefully everything will work out and CC will once again be back in their prominent place with the elite in 8AAA. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  4. Thanks cricket for your response. I didn't know he was part of the coaching staff. That does answer a couple of my questions though about why he was so adamant it wasn't the coach's fault, but the girls talent level and work ethic not being what it should. Appreciate your insight. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  5. Interesting, seems pedo is the coach's agent or cheering section or both. ( not a slur just an observation) I'm not sure he really knows the in's and out's of basketball though. Success in coaching is ultimately determined by wins and losses. I for one don't think 65-77 is acceptable for the talent CC has had the past 5 years. As the GREAT SHOOTMORE stated when this post was started maybe it's NOT the kids or talent but the SYSTEM. Hmm? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  6. Thanks bear1 for your response. I think I know who your daughters are. They did play hard and I enjoyed watching them. Glad to know you liked Coach Tipps too. I agree only the girls and parents truly know what goes on and how much it takes to succeed in AAA basketball. I appreciate your help. Maybe things will get straightened out with our program and the gym will be full again like it used to be every Tuesday and Friday night! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  7. Pedo, I do believe the Thompson girl would have helped this team, and I also believe the Moore girl could have contributed also. I'm not sure who else quit but I do know these girls were athletes. As for records, what is the current coach's record at CC? I'm sure you have that info. Also, has he been to the region yet at CC? Thanks for your help. P.S. Coach Donaldson's problems at CC had really nothing to do with X's and O's. I think she ran into the same problems at Smyrna after she left here. I think she would have been fine in a college program where the coach can pretty much dictate everything to the players and parents. As for Coach Tipps I wish he was still here, But wasn't his certification or somthing the problem more than parents? I never heard many parents complaining about him other than one or two senior parents wanting playing time. Every coach gets that. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  8. It's still an honor to be a Lady Raider in basketball too! Just need to make some adjustments at the top of the program. The girls have to play for who the administration hires, they don't get to choose their coach. All of you should support each other in the sports, not try to make one sport look better or more important. The Lady Raider basketball program had been to the Region Tournament every year for who knows how long up until the last 2 or 3 years. I don't think the talent suddenly disappeared. CC had athletes that could play for any other team in the district. Just food for thought. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  9. I would like some input from the experts on this forum. How would you rank the coaches in 8AAA, not on how they finished this year, but on X's and O's, wins, losses, adjustments in a game over the past say 2 or 3 years, minimum. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  10. I agree 100% Countrygirl! Glad to get another female's perspective. However, the coaching 3 sports I think is for the "supplement!" Not because he has to coach them. The offseason is the key to winning and ours is a joke. Thanks for your input, maybe the powers that be will put the hammer down for next year. For the sake of girls basketball in Coffee County I sure hope so.l /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  11. Guess you are right again Pearly... there's a woman in Knoxville that's pretty good at it... and a man in Conneticut that's pretty sharp too. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  12. I thought it was the Coach's responsibility to motivate the players in a way that they would want to be in the gym working on fundamentals, pick-up games, etc. I feel sure the baseball and softball coaches push the summer league games and tournaments they are playing in. Organization is as much a part of coaching as x's and o's isn't it? I believe if the girls were motivated in the right way with the right leadership they would be doing anything asked of them by the coach. One has to have more than a key to the front door of the gym to be a successful coach. But again what does a woman know about coaching? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  13. No fix at all fuzby. A lady can only take so much, I concede to you and Pearlball. CC's problems are because of Westwood's scheduling, poor coaching at middle school, and high school softball taking all our athletes. And I guess as you both said, we just don't have the talent to do better than 5th or 6th in our district year in and year out. I guess we can all look forward to football season in September! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  14. Excuse me, but I don't think I've seen any gold football trophies there either. Are you implying that CC football is dominating anyone? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  15. Let's see pedo, CC played Marshall Co. (single A) I think and lost. Played S. Pitt, Woodbury twice, Moore Co., I do believe you said hardly the same teams Westwood played. Seems pretty familiar to me. Better check your schedule again. But they did beat the other AA teams listed here, if Moore is still AA. Does CC have any hope of dropping down to AA? If so, maybe he can dominate and be Coach of Year. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
