  1. After watching the Carter/Johnson County 7th grade tournament finals last night it becomes quite clear to daleriddell that the future of Unaka basketball looks quite promising. Both the Jr. Rangers and the Tigers from Hunter looked impressive in their respective games. The Rangers beat a talented Johnson Co. bunch pretty easily and Hunter disposed of the much improved Happy Valley Warriors with a strong all around game. Jeff Peters, Adam Colbaugh, Dustin Carden, Kelly Rapert, and the supporting casts from each team give Unaka high school a great nucleus to look forward to. Drew Chambers that is in 6th grade, really showed that he has been watching big brother and learning some tricks from him. If all of these boys decide to attend Unaka high school, the future Donald Ensor teams will have plenty of fire power. daleriddell believes that most of these boys will go to Unaka except maybe for Peters, he may join his brother at Betsy. Unaka will also be a force in jr. high baseball because all of these boys will be playing together for Matt Wilson and Mickey Taylor. Great coaching staff, Matt is great with the boys and Mickey coming on board really gives Matt the best assistant baseball coach in the county! Stoney Creek, like daleriddell always says; keep on keepin on. daleriddell also wants to say that it would nice if we could just all get along here on the creek, remember that we pull for the same team and they are just kids out there busting their butts for us to have some entertainment on game nights. They make mistakes but they are only kids and yes the coaches make mistakes too but they are only human. daleriddell figures that most coaches spend around 70-80 hours a week with our jr. high and high school kids during a normal week in the season and most of the time all they hear from the fans is how sorry they are! They don't get paid overtime and they take time away from their own families to help shape and mold these young men and women into not only good ball players but also better adults for the future. Let's just think about that for a while and try to support all aspects of the fine programs that both Donald and Kenneth have going at Unaka High School right now. Sorry that this is so lengthy, but it has really been on my mind after reading all of the posts after the Cloudland game the other night. daleriddell just loves Stoney Creek and the basketball on it, lets just work hard at it, shut ours mouths and let the play do the talking for us. daleriddell will start the new wave of being a little positive around here by saying thank you to Donald, Johnny, Richard, Kenneth, and Starr for spending so much time helping our kids and being there for them through the good and the bad. Yours truly, daleriddell
  2. daleriddell wonders which high school program will be on the rise in the next 4 to 5 years in boys basketball and which programs will be on the downhill slide. Just something to think about. Some programs may just stay where they are, heck I am bored and no one seems to be very fired up right now! Let's talk basketball people. daleriddell say keep on keepin on Stoney Creek! Yours Truly, daleriddell
  3. daleriddell says you can't mention anything other than basketball on this danged old computer or they will move your good old chat to somewhere else so that you have to pay to keep on keepin on! daleriddell promises not to mention that other sport that uses an egg shaped ball again! Pure Ranger basketball from here on out. daleriddell says keep on keepin on Stoney Creek! Yours Truly, daleriddell
  4. daleriddell knows that this is a basketball board but has anyone heard anything about Mark Byrd or any other athlete from Carter County signing to play college football. daleriddell needs to know, he is losing sleep over it! I heard that UT was coming to Elizabethton to look at young Charles Peters. Any truth to that? Yours truly, daleriddell
