  1. Cookeville and Siegal are nice, but I have to ask Lazarus about the Auburntown gym. Are you referring to the Auburn Elementary gym in Cannon Co.? It is a nice "little" gym, for grammar school games, but you're right. It could never be used for HS games.
  2. What did I tell ya? Cannon Co. over Smith Co. by 2 for 3rd place! Pretty cool considering we started out 6th. Also, great job to Felicia Francis and Erin Todd (from Cannon Co.) on their all-tournament awards. Congrats to Coach James and her girls on a great win. I told y'all Coach James made it clear what she wanted and, yes, she got it. She and the Lionettes are the best! Good luck in regionals!
  3. What was LA's coach's technical for anyway? I missed that somehow.
  4. I think that Cannon Co. can beat Smith Co. if they come out right (not the way they did against LA). Then, for Jackson Co. and LA, I'm for Jackson Co. all the way. I can't remember who right now, but whoever said something about LA being cocky is exactly right. But, yes, if it really gets close in the end LA has some awesome free throw shooters (I know, 'cause that's how Cannon Co. lost it to them). As for the refs, it's about time we got some "excellent" ones. Is that a first or what? But you know, the winning team usually always thinks the refs are excellent, 'cause, hey, they won! I think for refs to be, quote, "excellent," they have to be fair on both ends, and it's rare to find 'em like that. Anyway, I'm sayin' Cannon Co. and Jackson Co., but it's gonna be close. Good luck girls!
  5. I say Cannon Co. has a very good chance of winning this as well. After the ugly loss to LA, I think Coach James made it very clear exactly what she wanted - a win, and a good one at that. They were a bit intimidated by LA, Todd wasn't having a good game, they had 25 turnovers, and the foul ratio was horrible. I don't believe the refs they had were very fair, but that's something you can't change. On the shot chart, LA had very few FGs, because all of their points came from free throws (as aforementioned, the foul ratio was awful). But that's over now, and the Lionettes are looking for a win against Smith Co. for 3rd place. Girls, y'all are the best! I'll be there cheering for ya. Good luck! (Also, to all those who may now know me as Tara S. J. #1 Fan, I'm changing my name. I come close to being her #1 fan, but I'm not tryin' to be her favorite. So Tara, if you see this.....thanks.)
  6. Tearin'itup, I just put this on both posts. I just e-mailed you.
  7. Tearin'itup, I just e-mailed you.
  8. Tearin'itup, I just put this on another topic, so maybe you'll see it. Who are you?
  9. Tearin'itup, who are you? And thanks for your comments. You are so right!
  10. Cannon Co. definitely has the potential to win against Smith Co. (Thanks to those above who have faith in us!). Taylor may have a hot hand, but he's also got a hot head. Any blow at his ego could hurt his game. Don't think we're a one-man team, though. It all doesn't revolve around him. As far as size goes, Cannon's Young is about 6'3" and we have a new transfer - 6'5" Murray (not saying he'll be playing much, though, being a new guy and all). Could be a pretty good game.
  11. Does anyone know who is the 7A and 7AAA MVP and coach? I heard 7AA (Katrina Beechboard and Dana McWilliams), but was wondering about the other two.
  12. We (Cannon Co.) haven't beat York this year, but are very capable of doing so. I'll admit the odds aren't in our favor, but you can bet we're gonna bring it. Erin Todd is very strong underneath (22 points last game), but she's not a one-man show. We've got others who contribute just as much, but I'm not giving away anything else. Tara (Coach James) needs this win, and if I were a player, I'd be pushing it just for her. Go Lionettes and good luck.
  13. Depends on what district you want. I have district 7AA, but that's it.
  14. She may not be the best coach in the state (or even in the district [7AA]), or as impressive as some of these others, but Tara (Solomon) James has definitely made a name for herself here in Cannon Co. She has a long list of accomplishments from when she was a player here from 1987-1990, and we are very proud to have her back as our girls coach. If you go to the CoachT homepage, search for Cannon Co. High School. Then go down on that page to the articles featuring Cannon Co. There will be one entitled "Solomon comes home to coach hoops," or something like that, but check it out. It tells about her there. Tara, we are very glad to have you as our coach, and to us, you're the best! Cannon Co......small, but proud!
  15. Which schools are the MVP and coach from? I've heard my coach (Tara Solomon James, Cannon Co. - note my user name, she's awesome!) mention that she thought McWilliams would get it. Looks like she was right!
