  1. There is also a pressbox on the visitors side that is as big as most home pressboxes. The field is in the best shape it has ever been. The indoor facility is better than most universities. When South Fulton gets finished, Obion County will have 3 of the best in the state with OC, SF, and UC.
  2. great post. i love it when knowledgable fans have mutual respect. McKenzie and Obion have played each other hard and this is what makes a good rivalry. not that trash talkin crap but good clean hard-nosed football. I wish McKenzie wasn't dropping to single A so that Obion could still be on the schedule. this could turn into a great rivalry, even if it isn't that county rivalry like McKenzie-Huntingdon or Obion-Union City. thank you so far, fans, for a wonderful thread where fans from two schools can talk in a civil respectful manner. GO REBS!!
  3. who said anything about middle tennessee?? i still live and work within 30 minutes of Troy and regularly come to games at the pit. i have also been to lake co a couple of times to see coach whitby. i never once said that greer was a "great coach" i did say that some of the players were spoiled and were more interested in "I" and "me" than team. it was easy to see throughout the year. there was talent on the team, but selfishness negated that. i agree 100% that that team should have won more than 5 games. i dont agree however that it is all greers fault. sometimes getting respect depends alot on the respect you give. from all indications, i can see why you still have issues. to the seniors that stuck it out and finished the season, great job and keep your heads high for acting like men, respecting the game, and finishing what you started. you can never be called quitters. Go Rebs
  4. didnt coach whitby tell his players that they were terrible and sucked and couldnt beat a jr high team?? i know he did becuase i played for him and i heard it every day. the difference is that coach whitby did it to fire the boys up and make us mad. then we responded and won games. we hated it at the time, but now we know the reason. maybe coach greer is trying it to. maybe the players just felt sorry for themselves and gave up, so it backfired. i cant count the # of times that i was told how bad i was, even when i was a starter. i think greer knows his stuff, but he is still use to college calibar players. there was talent on this years team, but maybe not as much as the mommas and daddys thought. dont disrespect someone unless you have walked a mile in there shoes.
