Good Point I forgot about that. From what I've figured It would have been a bigger mess for the Mccallie team.

As you know rigger 101 neither myself or you can control people and their comments. I am not talking trash about anyone or any program. I know Jeff Price and the 2 young coaches at Farragut and respect both coaching staffs for what they do to improve the sport and working with kids. There is trash talk from every corner of the state not just here in middle tn, and by the way I am the new coach. I don't need to bring down any program to make mine or others look better. I agree Science Hill and Farragut have both proved themselves to be state worthy teams, and I am not taking that from them. Show from now on I would appreciate if you would not lump me into that phrase "your folks", because since I have been on this board I have been nothing but positive just stating facts. Yes I do respect the Franklin program because I see these kids each and every week at many tournaments and Franklin is in my region. My kids put there shoes on just like everyone else and until that changes there is no reason to point a finger.

I have a feeling that they well win a match and it will not be luck.  Bayou Bear has a very good point about how the weight cert. will change the game this year.  Remember McCallie last year with 4 really talented wrestlers and how difficult it was to place them in the weight classes that both helped the team and allow the wrestlers to meet their personal goals.

According to TSSAA Tullahoma finished 41st last year at the state tournament, and that is with one kid (Gessler).

Wow, we finished 4th and didn't say anything negative about other teams kids prior to the Matches at State. thumb There must be something in the water down your way. There was allot of trash talk last year for a team that finished 41st and their top man only finished forth.

Just let Max and your new coach do your talking. It's allot more impressive that way. What was Gesslers top finish?

There is plenty of Wrestling going on in other parts of the State besides Middle TN and the Chattanooga area. I think Farragut and Science Hill has proved that. Last year Ty Cody went into the State with one lost(Spencer Manly) and Chad Turner went in undefeated since the Father Ryan Tourn. Your Folks talked trash and wrote them off. I have noticed your folks have a great respect for Franklin and it is well deserved. Good Luck to your team and Max. Trash talkers SHUT UP!

The Cavs are fun to watch but I don't think from what I saw against Antioch they could beat an Oak Ridge, Farragut, Soddy or Ooltewah.

I wish them well and really enjoyed being at their Stadium when they played the Bears. Your band knows how to have a good time. You have one of the best hometown football Atmospheres I've seen. But there are some Big Bad Teams out there so watch out.

Your offence better get clicking! The owls score on some of the craziest things. Like a blocked field goal or an 85 yard run. Those kinds of scores sting you a little.

 

You beat the owls by controlling the clock. You have a great running back that at times gained 5 to 6 yards a carry. You have some quick guys on defense so that should be OK. I'm not saying it won't be tough, but you can hang. We didn't score an offensive touchdown in the 2nd half, they were both defensive. I don't think your defense expected such an explosive passing attack.

 

Just get that offence going and control the clock!

Thanks Again! I think their ship is sunk then because the offence has only been explosive once this yaer and that was against OR. We were in the Red Zone 6 times and couldn't punch it in. I feel we have a great Run Defense but they are weak against the pass. What did you think of Nick Reviez? LB #45 the kid can hit.

I wasn't trying to bring up recruiting, just stating that between 8th and 9th grade, some of the better Ooltewah and Hunter Middle athletes would wind up at McCallie, Baylor, Boyd-Buchanan, CCS, etc... instead of being at Ooltewah or Central where they are zoned.

Your telling the Truth. We lived 1 mile from Harrison Bay and the 5 years we lived there I saw alot of great athletes go off to McCallie and Baylor. They were talking to my son before we left for Kingsport then to Farragut. We played some good teams from your area when we lived there. We won some and lost some.

Yes, your linebackers did have a good game. They shut our run game down. The passing is what got you. Also, your offence never really got going. They switched QBs all night. With 5 min to go, 2 different QBs got picked off inside Farraguts 20 yard line, One was ran in for 6 and the other wasn't. It took 2 plays later for the 6.

 

We fumbled a kick off twice and farragut recovered one of those on our 20. That is where the goal line stand came to play.

I don't hate ooltewah. Let me try and explain...

 

If ooltewah loses to oak Ridge and Farragut and if Soddy wins out. We are 1st in the region. Which means we get a better play off spot. OK?

 

But, I will admit, I do pick on ooltewah more than others. Last year your were 3-7 and this year you guys think (thought) you couldn't be beat. You have to earn talk like that and you have yet to earn it.

 

You watch how I treat Oak Ridge fans this week. With respect. They've earned it.

Another big school without a wrestling program is Gallatin. Does anyone know if it is football related for either school. A thousand years ago football coaches didn't want to let their players wrestle because they were afraid the wrestling coach would make them cut weight after spending so much time fattening them up.

 

Does anyone still think like this? We could run off a huge list of former wrestlers who are now great players.

Now that we know the Owls are really Baby Birds and not birds of prey and this Board seems to base everything on the Score's of past games. Does that mean Farragut will beat the Baby Birds because farragut lost by less points to OR?

Do you remember when Last years freshmens team started to hit I do.  It was two days before the west game cause they didnt have some sort of equipment.  If im not mistaken i believe the season starts the same time every year.

I think DB is a very close second. Both cities really support their teams. Owls you don't have a city U are in the suberb's of Chatt. You have to give those two schools and their fans their props. They are truly great Football Schools. The Ooltewah Owls are baby birds compared to the Tribe and OR. Give it 20 years and if you ever win a State Championship in anything except trash talk, then other folks will listen. Until then shut up and let them play.

What was Tullahoma's ranking at the end of the State Tour last year?

I have tried to get h.s. wrestling introduced into the OakRidge school system, and each time have been shot down by individuals stating that the school has enough sports to worry about. Our local AAU team was willing to furnish a mat and help get the program started, but no interest from the "higher ups". Sad but true!

We have been met with the same resistence at other schools in the area also.

What Winter Sport do they have for kids except Basketball? Not everyone is over 6. They are one of the few large schools without a program. Maybe if they had one they could be DB. They have a good program. The Knox Carter has the same problem.

I am not being hard on Gessler, for one I am a Gessler supporter. Now don't get mad since you are obviously a Farragut supporter. But if we will think back to 2 years ago I am quite sure Gessler beat Dix in the conso rounds at 135 to put him out of the tournament. Gessler went on to get third that year, but Dix has done something since that Gessler has been unable to do and that is win the big dance. I am guessing that Max will go 160 this year and might get a shot at Borneman again at Father Ryan. Whether it tunrs out good or bad for him atleast he will get another shot before the state tournament. This wouldn't happen if Borneman goes 152 which I am not sure but wouldn't think he would since I remember him struggling with weight last year at 152.

I've been watching Max before he ever got to High School. My family has been in future Champions and AAU. Both my boy's have been State Champs in both.

I enjoy watching Max wrestle but I was cheering for Ty Cody last year because of some of the Nasty and Arrogant things said on this board about Turner.

I knew Turner would have a better chance against Max then Ty but I no Ty and his Coach and Family our good folks and don't talk trash on this board. Last year at the senior nationals I saw young men who were undefeated in their High School careers go out and get beat in the first round. This is why it is one of the Greatest High School Sports out there.

They all put their jocks on the same way. I just couldn't figure out why there was so many Turner hater's posting from your area. PS Turner got into the Third round of the Nationals and received a Collage Wrestling Scholarship. I hope Max can do as well if invited to represent his State.

I may be wrong, but I don't think CAK has a wrestling program. If they do, have their coach call me to set up a dual.

Rigger101, ask Coach Joe why he didn't want to schedule Kingston this year? Not trying to imply anything, just know he put me off until the rules meeting and left before getting with me. Plus he's not very good at returning phone calls either!
