  1. Yep, we have always laid an egg against the sec, but if you look at the conferences as a whole(as you all love to do), the sec's record against the B10 is 15-16 in the BCS era bowl games. Huh....imagine if we pulled our own weight? That's taking a line from you sec fans who spout that all 12 teams won whenever one wins, lol.

True but most of the time the Big 10 team is playing a lower ranked SEC team and is favored.

I watched Vandy and Northwestern last Sat. Great game that showed Big 10 power vs SEC speed. UT is going thru their down years just like all schools do. I love college football of all types. I was raised a ND fan so I have felt the pain over the years.

I would kill to watch a OSU vs UM game in person.

OSU is just easy to poke. :roflol::roflol:

Here is some info for U.

    SEC vs Big Ten Football

In 2009, the SEC went 6-4 in bowl games. In 2008, the SEC ended up 6-2; 7-2 in 2007. That 19-8 bowl record in the past three years is the best record of all the conferences and the most bowl wins ever by one conference over three years.

Oh, and the SEC won the National Championships each of those years, as well as the prior year (2006).

So, how'd the Big Ten do? This past year (2009) they went 4-3. In 2008 they were 1-6. In 2007 they were 3-5. So, a cumulative record of 8-14 over the past three years. Note that Ohio State lost both the '06 and '07 Championship Games to Florida and LSU.

Don't you love how facts can be used.

  2. Glad to see more young men fromour great state decided to go.

  3. Looks like flo is going to split the top Seniors in the country so no true National Champion. flo is closer and cheaper but man it's cold and nasty in Northern Ohio this time of year.

Good luck to whoever steps up and represents the State Of TN!

Link to one board debating the 2 tourneys.

from what I have read. FLO started their tourney because they were not allowed to tape the NHSCA event at Va Beach. INHSCA SR Nationals will be on ESPN!

After going to Cleveland twice and major snow storms hitting both times. I would travel to VA Beach in a heart beat over Kent Ohio. Plus you don't have to listen to the arrogant Ohio fans! :hungry:

  4. Who is going from TN?

Cael Sanderson to be Keynote Speaker at NHSCA National Championship Breakfast

The National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) will host the 21st Annual High School Wrestling Nationals Championship event from March 23rd to March 28th at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, VA.

Before the tournament, Asics will be hosting the tournament breakfast where a number of speakers will give speeches on a number of different topic. Among those speakers will be the only undefeated four time NCAA champion, 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist and 1997 NHSCA Senior National Champion and current Head Coach of Penn State, Cael Sanderson.

"Nationals is a great event for recruiting and for seniors to prove themselves one last time," said Sanderson. "It's really great to see the kids wrestle folk style one last time before they move on to their next level of wrestle may it be free style or on to college. I am honored that NHSCA and Asics invited me to speak at this great event."

With the amount of talent that is due to be at the tournament, Sanderson will have plenty of talented wrestlers to choose from.

"We're thrilled that Cael Sanderson will be addressing high school coaches at the NHSCA National Wrestling Championships breakfast,” said Neil Duncan, Coordinator of Wrestling Promotions for ASICS America Corporation. “Cael epitomizes rewards and the values of hard work, discipline and persistence that wrestling inherently teaches all of its participants

  5. tnko, close your eyes and think about this. It isn't about YOU or your convenience. What I was referring to is the wrestlers perspective. I used the casual fans as an example that many others also recognized this. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to acknowledge this obvious point because of the thin skin regarding any critique of anything regarding the Cow Palace.

If I wanted to be truly critical, I would have mentioned the lack of courtesy regarding the starting time for the finals on Saturday. To be fair, you'd have to admit that by having the Finals at 4:00 EST (in Chatt. for the last couple decades), it got the travellers home at a safer hour. The 6:00 start this year was equivelant to 7:00 Eastern, which got the Saturday night travellers home at an extremely late hour, (well , actually early Sunday morning). The Finals ended at 11:00! I know you guys detest Chattanooga and it's wrestlers, but those guys prob. got in bed around 2:30 or 3:00 AM. The consolation rounds ended very early in the afternoon, around 1:00. Why in the world not start the Finals at 3:00 or 4:00? Certainly never stopped the Roundhouse from rockin' on Saturday afternoon.

DaisyMay-We learned a long time ago not to kill ourselves traveling back home from Chattanooga and the Mean House! We stayed Saturday Night in Chattanooga. If you stay for all the awards and then go out to eat most of the rest of the State was getting home after midnight from Choo-choo town.

So welcome to the discomfort we have felt for years!

This 1st year for the event to be held at the Ag Center. Give it a chance. Spend an extra night in Nashville and have a relaxing drive back home on Sunday. It's scary going over Monteagle at night. :flower:

Most if the Middle TN Coaches, Teams and Grapplers love Chattanooga! However the event was starting to be taken for granted by UTC and the powers to be. I remember the days of Maclellan Gym and how we were packed on top of each other in a hot box. The folks at the AG center did a great job and have plenty of room to make it better.

Open the tight Signal, Lookout Mtn and Valley wallets and spend a little cash in your State Capital! We have been dropping our bucks in Chattanooga for years! :flower:
