  1. I told Limbaugh I cancelled yesterday, however they still threw it in my driveway this morning. That's allright, I was out of toilet paper! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

  2. QUOTE(magoo043 @ Apr 14 2007 - 02:50 AM) 826437235[/snapback]Oakland won big friday 13-1 and 12-0 maybe? don't remember wasn't there. but i know they were both run rules!!!

Marcus hit a homer in each game!!!!

    Stender pitch?

  3. I played for Stinnet and Cecil Joyce, back in the old Babe Ruth days. These two used to cover the prep sports and they used to tell us that whoever is winning will get the most coverage. It is what it is. The complaining over one team getting more coverage is nothing new and will always go on. Obviously they don't have enough writers to be everywhere. Personally, I think Steve does a pretty good job of doing what he does with as much on his plate as has. Either way, it does get old seeing MTSU football spring practice or any offseason sport on the front page and MTSU baseball and other spring sports getting barely a mention on the 3rd or 5th page. What the high schools get now is equal to what the old little league write-ups used to be, for those that might remember, with the exception of the games that have a writer present.

  4. Limbaugh is at it again. Here is the revised schedule straight from the horses mouth.

Saturday schedule is as planned with the exception of games at Lebanon H.S. and those teams have been advised of their new schedule.

Sunday schedule is being worked on as we speak by the planning committee and will be anounced ASAP.

    Scoreboard: Cascade 10

    Northwest 0

    Everbody's patience is much appreciated!!

  5. Riverdaleman, who is the Smith you are talking going to Motlow..I thought Coach Morris was the hitting instructor at Moltlow. I havent been around Motlow for a while and didnt know they had made any changes or additions to thier staff. By the way, GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS THIS YEAR.

Aaron Smith. Coach Morris is still the hitting coach at Motlow. Aaron helps out with just about everything. He played there so he knows how they want things taught.

  6. Hawks has been keeping this group of JRs together for a few years now so i wasnt surprised by that hey is arron still going to help you this year or does he have obligations to motlow?

Aaron will still be with the D'backs this summer, as will Jerry Knox and Chris Buckner.

  7. Hey we talked about yall in one of the previous threads i was wondering if you could answer a queston for me.....Usuallly you take a lot of SRs i noticed this year on your roster you have quite a few JRs why is that? Was the SR talent pool weaker or did you have trouble getting those commitments or what?

Hate to say that the SR talent pool is weaker, there are several talented seniors out there. We had little trouble getting committments out of who we asked. I did notice about some OHS's JR's not being on the roster questioned. Coach Hawks let me know last summer that he intended to keep that group together this coming summer. His program. If that is what he feels needs to be done, gotta respect that. His program and 2 rings to go with it.

  8. Tullahoma is a true baseball town, through and through. It has been since '97 since they went to state, so it has been a long time coming. Their fans should be able to get a little rowdy if they want to. If you are saying they were being unclassy, I don't know, I couldn't make it. As for moving the game to Saturday, I wouldn't have moved it either. You can't bring your ace back on 2 days rest if they play on Tuesday. Reverse the role and try telling me with a straight face, that you would have moved the game. Not trying to be a jerk, just putting the facts out there. As for graduation, I think that most any player would rather graduate on the baseball diamond as opposed to a hot gym in a long ceremony. I have had quite a few friends graduate in Chattanooga or Memphis on the field and never heard the first complaint. They got to do something the rest of their classmates didn't and it was for a good reason. Good luck to T-Town and Riverdale in the state. Good luck to the 3 Diamondbacks (Morris, Darlington and Underland) and the rest of the Wildcats and Warriors.

  9. Finals From Tuesday:

    Oakland 6 vs Siegel 3

Warren County 7 vs Lebanon 1

Blackman 3 vs White County 2

    Riverdale 6 vs Cookeville 3

Riverdale is regular season champions and recieves and automatic berth to the region. Limbaugh will have standings posted at www.riverdalewarriors.com within the next couple of hours.

  10. From a pitcher's point of view, comebackers are part of the game. I took one off the gord my sophomore year of college just below the temple. I lost use of half of my face for about a month and the doctor told me that I was lucky to be here now. I served one up and took a liner back up the middle that hit my head and back to the catcher on one hop (it was former Coffee County player Dusty Elam and he later joked with me that he still had time to throw the guy out at first, which was the truth after all). My fielding technique had nothing to do with not catching it. It was just crushed and I can still picture the ball going just over my glove before it nailed me. Even after all that pain (and still some that I feel when the weather is changing) I never even thought about metal bats being replaced with wood below the pro level. I am not trying to be cold hearted towards any losses of lives due to metal bats when I say that comebackers are part of the game. I just feel that no matter what the bats are made of, there are always going to be questions about what should be used. Everything we do in life has risk involved. Stick with metal below the pro level unless in summer ball or wood bat tourneys. Just my opinion from first hand experience.

  11. We (Murfreesboro Diamondbacks) are hosting the Connie Mack Southeast Regional in Murfreesboro July 27-30. Not just because we are hosting it, but it will bring in the 10 top Connie Mack teams in the Southeast. The winner will advance to Farmington, NM to play in front ot 10,000 people and the chance at the Connie Mack national championship. The East Cobb Yankees, Florida Bombers, Florida Pokers and Memphis Tigers are all annual qualifiers. The 16U SANDLOTT World Series will be in Tullahoma July 14-18. Several teams from all over the U.S. and even Canada will attend this event.

  12. If their is a high school showcase it is certainlly legal for students to showcase their talents but that is the ONLY way a student can workout with scouts.  If your friend did work out for a scout before he graduated that is certainly a violation of major league baseball policy. I will make sure tonight when the Brewers scout is in town tonight, I will ask him about these rules but I don't think they have changed.

This is news to me. I have set up a couple of individual workouts for players to work out for scouts and have never been informed of this. Please email me and let me know if this is really the case. I was told as long as they do it at their own costs and the said organization doesn't pay for the players travel, equipment, etc. I remember when Jeremy Slayden went to Chicago (I may be mistaken on the city) and worked out for that team on their field before the draft.
