I have an opinion on this and I think the coaches all went along with one coach because of "sour grapes" and I think everyone knows who that is and why it happened. Coach Brown deserved Coach of the Year because his girls were number 1 in the district and one of his players should have been MVP. There is not a coach in the district that would not have been happy to have had this very special young lady play for them. And not one of them would have turned her down. Coach White didn't turn down the Sleeper girl but no one is talking about that. I think this is quite petty of all the coaches that voted against him. Maybe some of you need to take a step back and re-evaluate your qualities as coaches. How do you expect your players to play with good sportsmanship when you don't exhibit those qualities yourself? But that's okay. If you can live with yourselves we can live without it. Our team still came out No. 1.

NOT RUDE! I watched as the awards were being given. Jackson County fans clapped their hands for every team that was announced. When Jackson County's girls were announced as the champions there were only 4 or 5 people who clapped. I would call that rude!

Way to go Laken. Everybody is pulling for you. Laken is a great athlete and a fantastic young lady. She is very deserving of this honor.

And I suppose you think Sleeper should have stayed in Smith County. Get real. You people need to get over it. Laken's parents and Laken made the decision that they thought was best for her.

Misty did transfer from Baxter but it doesn't make any difference where she came from. She and Laken both had reasons for transferring and we are glad that they made that decision. I can see why any play would want to play in Jackson County. Coach Brown is a great coach.

No one is lying about players being sick. Bradley Crowder has not played the last 2 games because of sickness. I was at the game and saw a few academy awards from Pickett County too.
