  1. Why should officials for round 2 be any better than any other? The officials should always be neutral and know the rules.
  2. I was at that game last night and I have never seen people act like Clarkrange did. When the awards were being given everybody clapped for all the teams except when Jackson County received their championship award and the Clarkrange fans sitting behind the bench never clapped. That is poor sportsmanship and poor leadership on the coach's part.
  3. I don't see how you get Clay Co. in Region 4.
  4. Making the football team is easy because all you have to do is just keep trying and not quit. It needs dedication, brains, athleticism, heart and soul. Even if you have never played football beforeyou are here to see what it takes to learn. Being on the football team is not an easy thing to do but the rewards are worth it in the end. Being on the football team is something great because it shows leadership, courage, strength, and teamwork, and you are part of something special. The friendships and relationships you build on the team become a part of you for life. Your teammates become not only your friends, they will become your brothers. Treat your teammates and coaches with dignity and respect; you will get the same dignity and respect in return. Take criticism well, and use it as a challenge for you to do better. Make improvements through extra practice with friends or extra time in the weight room to improve your stamina. The better you make yourself, the better you show your improvement, the better your chances of making the team. Try hard and you will succeed. Never say no to yourself because if you believe you will achieve. Never say you don't know what up-downs or push ups or burpies are because you will just end up doing them A LOT! Take punishments like a man and don't come up with stupid excuses. You will make mistakes, learn from them. Don't use them as a crutch. When the play is over it is over, move on to the next one and improve on it. Believe in yourself, your coaches and your teammates. Start each game with a winning attitude. And last, encourage parents to become involved with your team and booster club.
  5. I wish they would stop just looking at who puts up the most points to be considered for the all tournament team. A great player might not put up a many points as some of the others but they can keep an opposing team's great player from scoring a lot. It would take a little more effort to pick a team by using this method but I think that would be a fair way of picking their team.
  6. Even though she didn't make the tournament team I think a round of applause should go to Hope Scantland.
  7. I don't know if it was poor sportsmanship or not since I was not at that particular game. However, I do know that coaches normally do not go out to receive the award. They let their players do that.
  8. I totally agree with Jackson County. You just can't please people. I personally like to see those Ws in the win column. We have gone too many years with a losing team and now you bad mouth the coaches! Games may not always be "pretty" but if you get the win then that is what counts and you start working on the mistakes made and get ready for the next week. We are more than likely on our way to a playoff game which has not happened in Jackson County for many years. I would hope people would get behind these players and coaches and pat them on the back for a job well done. I would like to see businesses show their support by if doing nothing more than putting up blue and white ribbons or putting something on their sign GO BIG BLUE FROM A DEDICATED JC FAN!
  9. It doesn't matter how long she played. The fact is she scored 3000 points! That is a feat in itself. She is a most deserving young lady who has worked hard. Congratulations Laken, you did it girl and we are all so proud of you. Some people could play 6 or 7 years and not score that many points but you did it!!!!!
  10. CONGRATULATIONS to Laken Leonard for being a Miss Basketball finalist. She is a most deserving young lady. I wish her well when she starts to MTSU.
  11. I don't know who you are but I sincerely think you are a horrible person. And we wander sometimes why our youth of today turn out the way they do. It is because of people such as yourself. Yes, the Blue Devils got beat but we sure went farther this year than we have in a long long time. These football players have worked hard this year and they deserve some respect. They don't need to be bad-mouthed by some "jerk" such as yourself. Players, I commend you for your hard work and dedication this year and a sincere thanks to the coaches who so willingly gave their time to try and make this program better.
  12. Childress doesn't know what he is talking about. They NEVER took the top 4 from each District. The took the top 2 from each District. Each Region had 2 Districts in it so it came out to 4 from each region. Then they went to the Region format where they took the top 4 but Districts had been eliminated. In Tennessee, a District has historically had a different meaning than a Region and was always a subdivision of a Region anytime they have been used. Edit: Childress is obviously NOT qualified for his current position. I wonder if he knows how long a football field is. Yes he is right. In the nineties they took the top 4 from each District because Jackson County went.

  14. Way to go Laken! You will make Jackson County proud by playing at MTSU. We will be right there to see you play.
  15. John Dryden, a British poet said, ""For they conquer who believe they can". Instead of being so negative, why not give them a chance. It is people like you that discourage young people. Instead of badmouthing them why don't you put your energy into something constructive like showing some support.
  16. Congratulations Lady Blue Devils. You went to Florida and got it done. We are so proud of you.
  17. Congratulations to Sean Loftis for being hired as the new Jackson County High School Football Coach. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  18. I didn't say Iwas his mom. I am just a JC fan and have been for years. I just think you have singled one player out and that is not right. This happened to be one game when his shots didn't fall. But if you watched other games during the season there were shots taken by other players that didn't fall. They are all good guys and have played hard to get to where they did and I just hate to hear remarks made about any of them from someone like you who thinks they know so much about the game. Try and play it and then post on here. These players were not even supposed to get out of the region but they defied all odds and won the region and then on to win the sectionals. You are not much of a fan and every player's mother should be on your back.
  19. So you think we should just stop shooting if we are missing shots! That particiular play that you keep referring to is leading the team in 3 point shots. I see why you don't play ball.
  20. Are you singling out one player or referring to all? I think it might have been that they were nervous. There were a lot of shots taken by all players that didn't go on. I for one am proud of them for making it this far.
  21. This is a wonderful post. And it is a true post. Charles Barklay said that "Being black or white isn't an accomplishment. What you do with your life - or what you accomplish with your life - dictates what you should be proud of". CSAS should be proud of what they accomplished this year but don't be mad at our team because we wanted the same accomplishments. Teams have been looking past us to the next game as if we didn't exist. We just stepped up to the plate and did our talking on the court when it really counted. Our players didn't have to post on CoachT. They knew in their hearts what they had to do and I for one am very proud of their ACCOMPLISHMENTS. I think it is time to put this to rest. The game is over and JC is on their way to the state tournament. Nothing anyone says will change that.
  22. I agree. Jackson County has always had a large fan base and we travel with our teams. It is hard to believe that others besides the baseball team wouldn't have come to watch.
