  1. REDSMAN is right about GHS. It's easy to say it, but until you stand in those shoes you'll never understand it.....uphill doesn't even scratch the surface
  2. The tiebreaker was from Gallatin beating Station Camp which gave Gallatin the best record against the south. We will give credit where credit is due. Jacob Beaty has thrown the ball extremely well but it has taken an entire team to win each game. Good luck to all teams in the tournament!
  3. Am I reading this right?!?! Are you saying that Friendship would/could compete with Mount Juliet? Please tell me I'm reading this wrong....
  4. This post was quite comical when I read it. First of all, yes both teams are 1-0, if they had a lose they'd be sitting at home. Secondly, it was very obvious this post was from a very giddy Station Camp fan. I mean, I guess I can't blame you, if it was my first time to win a playoff game I'd be excited to. Thirdly, I definitely agree with spreadeagle. Station Camp's wins came against teams that had a combine 13-37 record (6 of those were Antioch). Enjoy your first win Station Camp because you'll go home with an "L" Friday night. Beech Bucs - 35 Station Camp Bison - 7
  5. Gallatin High School is looking for a home game April 30th. If interested contact Coach Mickey Armstrong at mickey.armstrong@sumnerschools.org
  6. Had a similar situation happen this year, with the exact opposite reaction taking place, and was told by 4 TSSAA umpires on site that the distance the catcher is from home is irrelevant if there is a collision/close play. My biggest problem is not the 3rd baseman, its to me what looked like a coach coming from the Houston dugout. And lastly, I am really hoping that Midtnblu you're not an umpire, because if you don't know that rule you are definitely an ignoramus.
  7. Hats off to Austyn Dyer who threw a great game, but I also have to applaud Gallatin for winning 2 elimination games over Hendersonville and Lebanon.
  8. Ok, its my understanding that Beech, Gallatin, and Hendersonville are all tied at 4-2 on the North side of the district....anyone know how the tie breaker is decided?
  9. I think Hendersonville and Gallatin are tied and Beech is one game back. 4-4 is the best district record on that side I think. Does anyone know the district win/lose records for ALL the district teams?
  10. glock...I didn't quote the rule book, just put it in different words. They both mean the same thing. Not ALLOWING yourself to get hit means you make an effort to get out of the way.
  11. Gallatin 2-1 over Hendersonville last night. Game two tonight at Gallatin. Anyone know the Lebanon vs. Wilson Central score or the Station Camp vs. Mt. Juliet game?
  12. By rule, regardless if there is a batters box or not, the batter has to make an effort to get out of the way. Of course this is a judgement call on the umpires part so good luck with that. But my question is why would it be in question if there is a batter's box or not? I've never heard of a tournament game NOT having a batter's box.
  13. Anyone know about the district scores from last night?
  14. Restart or a mutual coaches decision to continue...assuming this is a TSSAA sanctioned event
  15. Gallatin over Wilson Central 8-3
  16. After district play has begun, is there a clear front-runner in both the North and the South sides of the district?
  17. We have had this happen twice in the last week. This past Tuesday there was a bat in question and both umpires agreed that if it had BESR stamped on it then it was legal, regardless of the type, shape, or size of the stamp. No more than two days later I had two different umpires tell me they had no clue what was legal or illegal. Yesterday, while having a conversation in between games, an ump told me that he was going by "if it has BESR or BBCOR then its LEGAL, no questions." I then asked about the Easton Comps and he said if it has BESR or BBCOR then its LEGAL. So my question is, what are the umpires being told? Anything?
  18. I was informed last night while attending the Wilson Co. Invitational that Lebanon is 0-7. Is there any truth to that statement and how did they do last night against Hume-Fogg?
  19. Here is where you're wrong. You have to have hold of something for it to be taken away from you. Wilson Central was TIED with Gallatin and would have gone to a 3rd OT. You can't predict who wins or loses if the game does not continue. DUH
  20. If we are going to point at flaws I think I will point one out. The Dictionary defines "impeccable" as faultless; flawless; or irreproachable. I don't think the amount of profanity that was used by the WCHS fans/students qualifies you are "impeccable." If we are going to teach are children/students anything that should be that that type of language is never appropriate. And for sortsfan2222, he didn't hit an officer, he hit a hanging EXIT sign.
  21. I will also join in with "Eda" by saying welcome to Coacht. First thing is that it is very obvious you have no clue how this website works considering you posted the same message 5 times. Secondly, it is VERY obvious that you are a parent. And lastly, it is even more obvious that you have never officiated anything. Had you ever officiated any type of sport you would know that an official or officials never have a perfect game. They make mistakes and no one is overlooking that the call that was made was a mistake. However, as a parent you have to teach your son how to win and lose with character (regardless of the situation). The things that transpired after the game are much deeper than a high school basketball game. And as a parent for you to point the finger at others is not only disturbing but flat out irritating. Apparently we do need to spend more time talking about the players. And as for your Organized Cowards statement, I can agree with that without a problem.
  22. I would believe you that its just a cover up, but you joined CoachT a week ago and all your post are about Beech. So nice try youngster, you are without a doubt from beech, and there is no covering that up. As for the game, it is funny how people point fingers at others when they have no involvement in the game. To point the finger at Gallatin police is truly ridiculous and childish. But I am pretty sure I saw a "Wilson Co." office place a Wilson Central student in handcuffs and likewise saw plenty of Gallatin fans escorted out by Gallatin police. I understand it is an emotional game for all involved, and over all it was a terrific game that just had a crazy ending.
  23. First of all that was one of the best games of the entire season, no exceptions. I got to see every team in the district play twice this year and it was obvious that the best two teams were in the championship. I will agree that the shot was beyond questionable but how in the world can you "BUCSBUCSBUCS", wonder where you're from, say that Gallatin got a little home cooking? I guess your next complaint is that Hendersonville got the same "home cooking" as they laid the wood to you guys. For any district tournament referees are brought in from out of town, so to say it was home cooking is absurd. It was clearly something that should have been discussed amongst the officials, but when fans storm (from both sides) not too many referees will stand around and correct a possible wrong call.
  24. If you don't mind me asking why would you put Hendersonville as a competitor after losing 80% of their starters and then say Gallatin is the worst in the district after losing just 2 players? Just curious what your basing your info on?
  25. District 9-AAA could be one of the more exciting districts to watch this year. I was very fortunate to get to see several different district games this past season, and to be honest, anyone could win it this year. Just a thought.....
