    Red Cards

We had a player get red carded for asking the ref if he was blind, lol. No profanity, no physical display. Just the old blind ref thing. So yeah, the reds are out there. BTW, after the game the player apologized for losing his cool and even saying anything and the ref blew him off. So, as I said in an earlier post, you can get away with dirty or physical play but NEVER question the eyesight of a ref, lol!
  2. Red can also be shown for saying the ref is blind, lol. So no matter how frustrated from cheap shots you get, no matter how badly you are getting pulled, pushed, kicked, tripped, held during a match, never ever say the ref is blind. That gets you a straight red and a 2 game suspension! You are better off to retaliate with a cheap shot of your own and get a yellow, lol!

    Red Cards

Just a reminder that Red Cards are now a TWO game penalty and not one. And they are very subjective in TSSAA and can be given for less than the severe infractions many of us are used to. Be prepared to lose one eighth of your season guys.
  4. Is there anywhere to find statewide scoring stats for goals, assists, etc.? Do the larger papers (Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville) regularly post stats? I noticed a thread trying to gather those earlier in the season...how did that go? What is the highest individual goal total and assist total that people know of? Enjoy your summer everyone!!!

    red cards

I just came from district game between Sweetwater and McMinn Central where I saw a Sweetwater player get his second red card in less than 2 weeks for cursing the ref. I was 20 yards away and was impressed by the tirade of expletives, lol. What can he look forward to as far as punishment? Since the team lost and their season ended, will any suspensions carry to next season? It was a good game, but marred by 2 red cards to Sweetwater players for cursing at refs and players and one guy decided to wave bye by flipping off the ref too, lol. Some good players on Sweetwater but NO discipline. So what punishment, if any, can be handed out....
  6. I see some really good AYSO/rec teams forming, lol! That would skirt the club rule because its open signup...should be some great AYSO leagues coming up, lol!
  7. In some states, home schooled kids are allowed to play sports at public schools. What is the rule in Tennessee? Anyone have any idea?
  8. After seeing Loudon at the Sweetwater playday, I was struck by the terrible lack of composure, poor sportsmanship, contant dives, cheap shots and hot headedness of the Indians. I will venture that they will have trouble keeping 11 on the field for alot of games. I think they will see more cards than Hallmark this year. Congrats Rhea..a win is a win..enjoy!
  9. I played "back in the day" in that gym in Dover. It was not a pleasant place. Ditto for the old Cumberland City gym, where in places you had to stand on your toes when throwing the ball in because the seats were so close to the line. And who could forget seeing the steam plant construction guys having crap games in the back. And let's not leave out the not so good old days at Houston County(Erin). We had objects, verbal and physical, hurled at us while on court and when we left in our bus. There were some real interesting places to play back then, lol.
