  1. Guys I apologize. I don't guess I stopped to think about what I said b4 I said it. and oldskool is exactly right. There is all that flat land back there where the band practices during the fall. if I win class president, I'll gang up the soccer guys and we'll talk to Mr. Foster about it. ( I"m tryin to make up for my mistake)
  2. I dunno who Hawaiianpunch is, but she's on the head. Ooltewah has some real real fast sprinters like Marcus Williams, Tony Lansden, Ian Marshall and E, Elliott Harris. THese 4 guys make up the 4 X 100 team, our best event. The guys are undefeated this season. We have some of the best relay teams and our boys hurdler, Mobley, can really git r done(even when we set the hurdles too high! Sorry about that buddy) Adam Smith leads the distance team, with a very quick 800 somethin like a 1:50. With the addition of Luke Gawthrop to our 4 by 800 team, we should be strong there as well. Go Big Red!
  3. Jeremy, you have to be crazy to think that yáll have the worst situation of sports teams at Ooltewah. The wrestlers had to beg, steal, and borrow a place to practice this year. and have you seen our uniforms lately? I thought mine was gonna unravel while i was on the mat. and I do apologize on behalf of our track team b/c our scheduling conflict allowed only 4 goals against Soddy, but either way, the wrestling room is far too small for our 50+ man squad and we still managed 2nd in the region and sent 13 wrestlers to State this year. I hate to fill you guys' thread w/ complaints about a different sport, but reading the stuff that yáll said made me think about the things we deal with during the season. and a thank you to crkjon for stating a fact: real men play football.
  4. I have seen these guys, and they can play. another strong freshman at the nest is Ryan "Hammer" Coburn, pitcher #31. This guy can sling it. He has a fastball in the 80's w/ decent control. Plus. he can swing the bat too. Watch out for this team in the next few years. Crowe, how come you never told me you pitched?? Owlsathlete, I am Fairbanks, and props to easton for knowing that! Who are you man? Don't look for an excuse to lose, Find a way to win - Coach Gilbert
  5. staynskool, you probly don't know me, b/c I'm just a freshman and I wrestle for Ooltewah, but anywhose... Nice work by the Owls in thier tie of Vestavia Hills. They are headed home now to their state championship tournament. They were 13-3 coming in and the Ooltewah gang hands them their first tie of the year. my source is Tonka, jsut in case you guys were wonderin... Go Big Red!!

  7. I think they guys who had Ooltewah at five were close. We have a lot of guys who can really hit the ball (Hunter Hydas, John Gregory) as well as strong pitching (Justin Higdon) to play with teams such as Central. but the factor we have is great coaching: Joe Wingate is one of the best in the area, hands down. I dunno about á region this year, but with our crop of freshman, look for the Owls definitely the next few years.
  8. I know none of you are gonna believe this, but I've seen it. Ryan Coburn, freshman pitcher for Ooltewah, throws a 85 fastball and good control. He can also hit the ball like crazy. I believe he had a .400+ average in select over the summer, I'll find out for sure. They call him the Hammer. Does that tell you anything? he's no Roger Clemens, but he's workin on it.. lol
  9. man, I need to check my sheet better next time! Robbs had a 17, which is average for a freshman? I'm not sure, I've never run a girls hurdles event, so please fill me in. thanks
  10. peacemaker, an 11.7 in 8th grade? YOu smoked me in 8th grade. lol
  11. Rwest, you are correct. It was Tony Lansden who ran the 9.85 in the 100, and it was part of our relay team (who did win the race)
  12. I'm just lookin forward to watchin the Bus do his thing, b/c I haven't been able to see it yet this season. From talkin to him and reading this thread, he has obviously improved. I'll see ya'll at the game! stayNskool, will you be in attendance?
  13. I'm just lookin forward to watchin the Bus do his thing, b/c I haven't been able to see it yet this season. From talkin to him and reading this thread, he has obviously improved. I'll see ya'll at the game! stayNskool, are you gonna be there? j/w
  14. Rachel Robbs from Ooltewah. she had a low 15 in the 110 at GPS tuesday, or som'n like that. And not only will she sail by you, she'll look better when she does it... lol
  15. I'm not sure on out school record but there's a kid on our team who'll be setting a few when he becomes eligible. Dewayne Caldwell ran somewhere around a high 9, low 10 (I think) in the 100 at the Allcomers Meet at GPS Tuesday. and he'll also be lighting up Ooltewah's football program next year.
  16. and Criss w/ a c-r-i-s-s
  17. Is Casey Johnston from Notre Dame playing varsity or JV? If he plays JV, he's got to be considered one of the best. He's not big, but he's quick and has ballcontrol for days. Could somebody fill me in on his status? thanks
  18. I've played against Casey J from ND (during our days at HMS. Burfur!!) and this kid has got skills. Also, Craig (Tonka) and Daniel (Cheech) should make Ooltewah contenders for the next few years. Craig is a good ballhandler and rarely is beaten one on one. Daniel is better at the mind game, but can also put the biscuit in the basket when needed.
  19. albert, Ooltewah's freshman are off the hinges this year. with Daniel Feagans leading the offensive charge. and Craig Golden & Kurt Schultz playing the D, we should have all kinds of new weapons in seasons to come!
  20. I'm running for Ooltewah tomorrow in the meet. Hopefully I'll be running 400, 800, and 4 by 8.
  21. Courtney, stick to tennis, b/c cheerleading is obviously not your game. Besides that, stayNskool, good point on the Birmingham team, but none of the players that I've talked to know anything. So hopefully the scoreboard will have big numbers on the home side and smaller numbers on the away side.....
  22. Lifesizebarbie, why do you emasculate our soccer team like that? anywhose, I'm looking forward to the matchup of the Owls and Vestavia(B-Ham) a week from Thursday. I just talked to Busman fresh off of his basketball game against Kobe Bryant and he said that he hadnt even seen the tapes on these guys yet. Theyre supposedly one of the best teams in Alabama, but since most Alabamans can't even spell the word soccer...... anyways, the game is at the Owls nest so all of you Big Red fans comeout and repazent our school!!! I kida wondered who that Daniel Feagans homo was too... lol j/k bud
  23. OK the only thing I know about SDHS is that Kyle James and John Lane rule the wrestling world, but I'll say this: Soddy is gonna have their hands full w/ the Owls this season. The fact that Coulter is jealous that he pales in comparison to Mr. Golden is a sad reason to get on here and bash OHS as a team. but it's cool, b/c the season shall decide the end of this story, as it should be!!! GO OWLS, and Craig Golden is my hero!!
  24. Again, The amazing skill of the Bus can carry Ooltewah far. I also heard about these two freshmen named Golden and Fagans. somebody give more info??
  25. Ladies and gentlemen, there is no question in my mind that Jeremy Williams is in the top ten in the state. He's quick, good size, only a sophomore, and he blocks everything within a 1/2 mile of the net.(just kiddin guys, don't blow up on me) I just thought I put this out b/c the Bus is one of my good buddies and he deserves some respect for what he does. Go Owls baby!!!
