  1. I'd manage like a mother if i thought I was gonna get cookie cake for it.. but seriously, Ian Salter is the Ali of the bench manager. Not only can he manage and goaltend but he also long-snaps for the footbal team... so don't be surprised if he pulls out some of that Bobby Bouche' stuff " that's some high quality H2o..." - Ian Salter
  2. I think that the sophomores at Ooltewah will have a big impact on the team this year. Daniel Feagans has become a bigger scoring threat w/ more playing time, and no one can deny the defensive presence of Craig Golden.
  3. Ooltewah will be there, Go Big Red!!!
  4. TDkid, it was us that got beat on in the first round last year. But the two key words there are: last year. This is an owls team that is just as nasty as anybody around, and we're not looking ahead to Central just yet. I know a few of the Central guys, and like them a lot, so I'm not gonna say anything derogatory about those guys. all I'monna say is: Go Big Red and beat Soddy!!!!
  5. Wait til next week to pick next weeks games.... One win at a time adds up to 15 in the end
  6. Don't know any of you Grace boys, but good luck nonetheless.
  7. Linebackers and safetys like myself in the Chattanooga area need to watch out for Dewayne Caldwell of Ooltewah this year. He's not the most powerful back in our stable this year (Marcus Williams) but he runs in the ballpark of a 4.2 or a 4.3, one of the fastest on our team. Also, Hunter Hydas, Kyler Burke, and Zack Woods will make a big impact on our team and the region. GO BIG RED!!
  8. Before I say this, I think Gerald Riggs was a great back, and Troy Fleming is probably the best, but I think Patrick Flanagan should be ranked in the top ten at least. He ended his career with more yards than Riggs (partly due to Riggs' injury, but nevertheless)I believe, and he carried Ooltewah to the state final four in 2001.
  9. stayNskool, I wondered when you were gonna come and rescue us!! Thanks and Zizou, youre not supposed to just forget a district championship, youre supposed to build on that towards the next step, which is Cleveland
  10. guys, have we forgotten Thursday night's game? Does anybody remember the Bus diving to stop Nic Coulter's shot? ( Id include Spence's goal, but that doesn't count b/c Soddy's goalie isnt that good. not trying to degrade him) Either way, you guys can never count out the Owls at home. As long as the defense can help out the Bus, and Matt Lowe and Spence can light the lamp, we can win this game and face McMinn for the region.
  11. Yeah man... and thanks for the vote
  12. Don't take that tone of voice w/ me boy... I don't have to see your pitchin, I can smell it!
  13. Ooltewah's team is loaded. I've seen these guys playin, they could be good. As long as they can keep Crowe off the mound.... j/k bud Doc, no love for Central??? LOL
  14. He does need to grow, but being fast and short, you'll never see him go by you...Speaking from experience. He does talk a lot and refs at the next level wont tolerate that but I still say all the sophomores will make an impact in the next 2 or 3 years
  15. So totally didn't know you JPII guys had a football team.... Good luck to yall this season!and what weight did Coffey wrestle, j/w?
  16. Guys, thanks for the love for the Region Championship Freshman since we can't get any at our own school... Either way, Ooltewah could make a run at the region this year, definitely when were juniors, and by the time I"m a senior, this team has state championship aspirations. Some notable Sophs who could make an impact for The Big Red: 1. Ryan Williams, WR - Speed, hands and mouth. What more could you want in a reciever. 2. Michael Welch, FB/LB - Getting run over by this guy never gets old, should be a good one 3. Jensen Morgan, QB - Not a lot of playing time this year, but in my eyes, the better quarterback. Better leadership skills and a more accurate arm. 4. Jeremy Woods, QB/FS - Good athlete, can throw the bomb, not as good in short game but a strong quarterback either way. 5. Sean Sanders, HB/LB - not as tall as Welch but hits like it. Strong (squats 350) and fast (4.6 40 I think). Not a fair combination for the 2nd string defense. 6. Marcus Turner, RB/LB - another big hitter, knee is a question mark but when he's on, look out. Those are in no specific order and I left guys out b/c there's not enough room for everybody
  17. Hawaiianpunch might just be Rachel's best friend (and I do know who you are, and you know me 2) but this girl can really do it. Why she got taken out of the 300 and put in to 4X100, I'm not sure. Either way, she is a great person and definitely the best athlete on our girls track team.
  18. justme, we don't have strong distance b/c all but Smith and Shane Potter are freshmen and not really used to high school track yet. I only ran one year in middle school, and the other three guys had no time between them. and yes, Adam didn't run anywhere near his best time in the Tuesday meet, maily b/c we all ran 4 miles the day before and no one was near their best. also, Sharpe did leave us scratching our heads in the 400, but the one that takes the cake was last night at GPS, the first and second leg of the 4X100 dropped the baton, something I've never seen them do. That was our only hope at the Optimist Relays, either way, Tony and Marcus need to bounce back if were going to have much hope for adding any more victories to our resume.
  19. yall know.... the OOLTEWAH freakin OWLS are makin a comeback this year... I know 3-7 impresses noone but maybe Heritage (j/k guys), but we have improved and our freshmen team won their region championship this year, so things look good over the next few years for us at the Nest!
  20. I'm always afraid theyre gonna try to eat me or som'n.
  21. Another great point by StayNskool. I know a lot of kids at Ooltewah could care less about school spirit. Which stinks b/c if we had more, we'd have more fun stuff like pep rallies and teacher-student games (Courtney - OMG Baker just hit a shot!!) and therefore miss more class... not that I condone missing class....
  22. Why not release the stats? As long as your coaches can keep the bighead away from his players, which I'm sure Coach Winchester can, why not let it show how good your team is? and OwlsGK30, you were always my hero man. Where's the love? lol
  23. basebasketfan, I'm by no means a soccer player or fanatic, but I know that soccer is more fun to watch and attempt to play in my case than baseball is. and when you were 10, it was still about chasing the ball around the field. I think your name would be more accurate if you added the word "ball" and took out "basebasket" I totally agree w/ Bus on this one, and on the Wings too.
  24. Weiss, why don't you wrestle any more man? I know you can (or could) play some ball, but you used to own ppl. on a mat. What happened? Doc- Calm down buddy! I'd love to watch Sanders beat some ppl. up, but not in retalliation for what's gonna happen to you! j/k and Clevelandbb, I hit better than you do !!!
  25. Props to the Bus for being adult for a change.... j/k buddy
