  1. That wasnt a slam at all towards FCS, they are obviously better than Trousdale Co. It is not like Grace hasnt seen competition like this before. Two years ago they traveled to play DCA during their State Championship year, and I would say that years DCA team is better than this years FCS team.
  2. What about the fact he shoots better than most guards? He runs the floor better than most big men. And a coach from the University of Georgia said that Carter (during his sophmore year) was more skilled than ANY of the post players on Georgia's team. Sounds to me like he has a little more going than just his size.
  3. I would rather play FCS than Trousdale. Trousdale is still probably ticked about that 2004 substate loss in basketball when a team from Grace traveled to shock the Jackets. (not to mention TC view toward private schools)
  4. You sir are very ignorant. I was around the whole situation. The kid was leaving Berean after his freshman year. He was looking at Hixson and Grace. I can assure you Grace has made no violation. Coach Matheiss wouldnt even talk to the kids parents without a guidance councilor with him (which is a TSSAA rule.) Grace's athletic program is one of utmost integrity. We are talking about the same program whose own AD turned in a rules violation on a volleyball player who played in a YMCA pick-up game during the year causing them to forfeit all their games. Would anyone have ever found out about this? no, but they still did the right thing. Your uneducated and ignorant comments towards Grace are not welcome here.
  5. Grace has a good young quarter back in josh blake but i heard he broke his thumb on his nonthrowing hand last week, so if he doesnt play that will be a really though break for Grace. Grace has some solid players at some of the skill positions, but I doubt they will be able to hang in with FCS for 4 quarters. I dont think it will be a blowout at the half, but I could be wrong.
  6. Most every team has "historically" dominated Grace except for the last 4 or so years.
  7. Yes, Skogen is the head coach. Well the team has played together for a while so I dont think there are going to be problems within the team. Now seth is without a doubt their best player, but I dont view him and the real "leader" type. I could be wrong. I heard that they are still running the same exact plays. But anytime you lose a coach like Wadley it cant help things.
  8. Congrats to both teams. Temple on their first region title, and Grace on their first playoff apperance. Does anyone know the status of Josh Blake? I heard he broke his thumb before the half and thats why he didnt come back out for the second half. They will need him next week.
  9. You obviously arent very educated with grace, they have reloaded quite nicely. Their backcourt will be young, but very talented and will get much better as the year goes on. Add that with the most size in the front court in class A, you atleast are a region contender. I dont know who will win when this three teams play its too early to tell, I just wouldnt be suprised if there was some spilts in the regular season series. All three teams have great home atmospheres where it is hard to go in and win.
  10. Is he a legit 6'8? I remember last year he was listed taller than he really was. You really dont think Grace is a contender? I mean you can make statements like that about anyone. Take UNC for example in college, They will start a couple of freshman are they contenders?
  11. You must not visit the basketball board quite often. Its actually worse.
  12. CSAS is a mystery to me. I really have no idea how good they will be. The lost Martell. I dont buy into the you will be better with out him stuff. Yes he was kinda lazy, but he was 6'7 long arms decent shooter and could block shots. Anytime you lose a player like that especially in class A you cant convince me that it isnt going to hurt anything. Did CSAS lose that other 6'5 guy or is he back? I dont remember his name, maybe Brian something??? I know they have some good young guards (Cobb can play) but are they ready to step up and get them to the next level. The only thing that is really keeping me from totally buying in to CSAS is last year I heard all about CSAS before the year and they went to Grace and got waxed by like 25 at the begining of the season. All of that said, I think they are a MAJOR region contendar, they are deadly playing at home. I have them in my Class A top 10. As I have said before, to me it is a three team race with CSAS Grace and Temple.
  13. He will not be used in the post at the next level. He will play outside like a pick and pop type player. And I think he runs the floor extremely well for a kid his size.
  14. 1. Temple- return pretty much everyone from a good team. 2. Grace- State runner-up lost 4 starters but have reloaded to take another run for state T-3. Silverdale- should be improved, just not there T-3. 21st Century- Their coach seems to be doing alot with the talent they have. 5. CCA- Walter Williams went to Howard which pretty much screwed them. 6. Copper Basin- They may should be 5th I dont know.
  15. One guard played varsity as an 8th grader for the state runner-up team last year. The other plays the highest level AAU ball so he is not stranger to some good competition. Im not expecting these kids to come out of the gates on fire, but they will do alright ore atleast better than what most people on here think.
  16. I cant really tell you their starting lineup because I dont think they know there starting lineup. McMasters and the 6'8 transfer (who can really play) will start. They other three are kinda up for grabs. They have a couple of really athletic and talented freshman guards who I think will start, but what do I know. The only thing that would keep them from starting is their youth but I say throw them in there, take your beatings early and they'll be ready come tourny time. And that 5th starting spot could go to a number of players. I agree, it will be a three team race.
  17. Grace wont be able to score like they did last year, but they sould play some insane D.
  18. You wanna bet??? Seriously I would give cosby 20:1 odds on winning the gold ball. And dude settle down. Its just flat out ignorant giving your number out and wanting to fight people over a high school basketball message board. Count to 10, smoke a cigarette, chew some tabacco, or whatever yall do over there in Cosby.
  19. What do you mean when you say Whitwell is going to be good? A .500 season? Trip to the region tournament? A district title?
  20. Sir Lee is a very good player and I see him play all the time, but he is not the best player to come out of the city in the last 5 or 6 years.
  21. It would be hard for the Miami heat to win at CSAS. I think Grace Temple and CSAS will all spilt this year.
  22. I dont think it was Grace people who said anything about recruiting. Neither school recruits.
  23. If you graduated in the 80's hmmm lets see.... yeah, that would make you one of (if not the) most immature grown person I have ever incountered in my life.
  24. That may be true... Grace Academy was started by Grace Baptist Chuch. And the church has some roots that come from Temple.
