    All-Midstate

When does it come out, and who gets in? Let the debate begin!
  2. Smallball, I have seen all these kids play. And they are all the real deal. It's hard to make an all-state team, and I realize that, someone will always get left off. However, these are the kids that really made an impact on me. Who in this list would you challenge me on? P.S. I have not seen ever kid in the state play, that would be pretty tough to accomplish for anyone. But I would like to know who you would take off to add?
  3. I like this thread it comes out every year. This year I've had a chance to watch many of the players from around the state Here are the best i've seen at each postition. C- Shelton-Brentwood Ethan Bennett- Farragut IF- Will Blaylock-Brentwood Academy IF- Nick Delmonico- Farragut IF- Josh Lee- Independence IF-Kendall Keaton- Columbia OF-Tony Kemp- Centennial OF-Kyle Brouchu- Spring Hill OF-Tucker Tubbs-Collierville P-Robert Hansen- Beech P- Philip Phifer- Farragut P-Robbie Ray-Brentwood P-Luke Deaton- Bartlett I don't look at stats just talent. All these kids will play at the next level, some have already signed. The Vandy group is impressive I must say. Corbin did a great job with this TN class.
  4. IndyEagle9, I like your picks. Vandy is lucky to get both Lee and Kemp. I have watched everyone in the district this year for an entire series. Just saw Ravenwood vs, Centennial. Kemp is a game changer. He was 7 for 10 in the series, with NO help from his team. I believe the voting is done by the best player on the best team, so it won't be Kemp but it should. Lee is good in all phases of his game. Shelton benefits from a small park, with his homerun numbers. However, these are the best three canidates. The districts choice will be Shelton, they love homeruns. My Choice would be Kemp or Lee, (both are better prospects) don't know if shelton can handle tough pitching.
  5. behind the mask25.......You mentioned a few posts ago that Jake Little was a natural in Centerfield, and that you have never seen anyone close on a ball so close to the fence. If you truly like baseball and are a fan as I am, please go watch the Kemp kid from Centennial. He is the best I've seen at the position in a long while. I feel bad for him because of his terrible team. He's by far the best player in the district, and I've had a chance to watch everyone this year. So before you make outlandish comments please know what's out there.
  6. Who wins this award? In my mind's it's Kemp, Lee, Shelton, and Mookie from Overton. Any thoughts? State your case for one of these guys or someone I haven't thought of.
  7. So we are headed into Spring Break with a crazy 11-AAA season so far. Kemp vs. Lee was a hot topic to start the year. I wanna revisit it now. Who has played them so far? Who has impressed the most? Who is the better prospect? Let the debate begin!
  8. I heard over the weekend that Kemp will not play football this coming year to focus on his baseball career. Any truth to this? A friend of his told me this. If so Cougars may have no chance in 09!
  9. Please do not listen to the FORD WILSON comments, they are just trying to start things. Wilson is a nice kid. Small D I school maybe. There is a reason he has no offers and college coaches around the area have not even heard of him. It's funny some of them have been to see Josh Lee play (who plays on the same team) and still have no clue who he is. Why? Because he is not a stand out player. LEE and KEMP are. Good luck to both for District MVP. It's a two man race. No better shortstop no better outfielder! PERIOD
  10. Ford Wilson is a serviceable high school outfielder! That is about as far as it goes. He might sneak into a college program........MAYBE. Please don't compare Wilson to Kemp anymore on this message board. It makes no sense.
  11. Ok I'm getting sick of all the Ray throws 91 and Hillis throws 94. Look, they are 1 and 2 as far as pitchers go in the district. Hitting 91 and 94 means just that, you hit it once or twice. Doesn't mean they can throw that consistently because they can't. Both are good pitchers however both struggle with good command, especially Hillis. Bruin19 that was for you. IHSEAGLES10, all this LEE LEE LEE talk. Easy please. Lee is an outstanding player, but maybe not the best in the district. I would go Kemp #1 Lee #2. If you wanna talk offers, Kemp has verbally commited to East Carolina, offers from Vanderbilt, and LSU, just to name a few. If you wanna talk stats......Lee was around 390. 's both of his years in high school so far.....Kemp has hit .439 both years, along with leading in stolen bases. Both are amazing players and will do very well at the next level.
  12. WOW! I had no clue. Can Kemp carry the load or will their be help? Who does Franklin return? Lee and Ford?
  13. Will the Cougars have another Cinderella season? Who do they have coming back? Is Scales coming back? what about #4 and #7? Who are they? I only saw one game but they are fast. What does the rest of the region have? How will it shake out?
  14. Bobcat 10 I am not a brother dad or mom no relation to any player in this state. I would like to know if your honest opinion about Mr. Little is that he is both better than Mr. Kemp and also Mr. Lee?
