Noragarm, I agree with you 100%. I know that Coach Greene has been asked about players by collegiate coaches. He has degraded players that have gone on to be successful at the collegiate level. He has not been instrumental in helping players move on. He is more concerned with himself than with the development of these young men as not just ball players, but individuals. He continually belittles these players with profanity and name calling. This is neither collegiate or professional baseball. These are still kids! There are parents of players that have been instrumental in developing this program. The booster club has done a tremendous job in raising money to get this program to where it is today. Those funds may have to be depleted to hire an attorney to right this situation. The funds are for the betterment of the Blackman program. I don't know where Mrs. Duvall stands on this. She is the athletic director. She was also at Coffee County with Coach Greene. She needs to do what is right or she may find herself caught up in something that she doesn't want to be involved with. Dr. Nixon is out of town for the week. He has been notified. He is hoping that Mrs. Duvall will handle it before he gets home. If Coach Green was smart (it's evident that he isn't), he would gracefully walk away. He is a competitor. That is why these things have happened. He just doesn't want to lose, but losing is part of playing the game. Remember, this is a game and every game must have a winner and a loser. He has lost and now it is time to move on with his life. He has a problem and I hope that he addresses it. He has a very nice girlfriend that I'm sure will stick by his side and help him through.

Rsuh22, This is not a player issue! There is coach that has assaulted players. This is a crime. There is a no tolerance automatic 5 day out of school suspension for fighting. That is for students. We are talking about a teacher here. TSSAA will be notified about the situation as well as law enforcement. The players are not wanting to quit. They have no choice but to walk away from an abusive situation. There are former players that have gone on to play college ball that will be glad to testify about the abuse that they suffered under Coach Greene. It is eveident that Coach Brewer can't stand Coach Greene, but he will not say anything about him because he is better than that. All I can say is that IF GREENE TRIES TO STAY, HE WILL FACE CHARGES!!!!!!!

I don't think any parent will allow their child to play for this coach if they know the whole story. Parents from Rossview saw Coach Greene choaking a player and shaking another. The previous night he threatend a player. Coach Greene had a team walk off the field when he was at Coffee County because of his actions. This man has a serious problem. He doesn't need to be in coaching or teaching. He told the players today that he would leave if that is what they wanted. They all said that they would not play if he stayed. He needs to follow through on what he said. If he doesn't, there will probably be charges filed against him and he will never coach again. It may also cost him his teaching job.

The first change will be replacing Doug Greene. He assaulted 2 players last night and is out at Blackman. He will try to come back, but it will never be allowed. About time he was was finally found out.

Blackman has good coaching. Unfortunately, the good coaches are assistants and they don't make decisions. Get rid of Greene and this team will win games. Enough said!!!!!!!

Add Jeremy Slayden to that list. He graduated in 2001, but was part of that era.

Buddy is from Murfreesboro. Went to Riverdale. Graduated I think in 77 or 78. I have a hard time remembering that far back.

There are a lot of great programs in TN that have produced some great college and professional players, so it's hard to narrow that down. IMO the top 5 coaches in the state are Tommy Farr - Farragut, Randy Harrell - Jackson North Side, Joe George - Marshall County, Buddy Powers - Riverdale, and Coach McArter from Houston. I didn't say they were the most loved by players or parents, just the best at what they do.

9AAA is playing the best ball right now. Price did have the loss for Blackman, but not without help from his defense. I believe there were a total of 12 errors in the first 2 games. I don't know how Blackman will play with anyone unless they can find players to play defense. I feel for Price and House. They are 2 outstanding pitchers that lost 7 quality players to graduation. I also know that the coach tried to bunt with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th. Figure that one out.

I know Morris is only a junior. His dad is pitching coach at Motlow, so I'm sure that is where he will go after graduation. I know they lost Griffin to graduation form last year's squad. Who else do they have that is noteable senior?

The tournament in Rutherford County this weekend will have planty of tallent. Who are the top senior RHP and LHP that have not commited to a college yet? I know of a few colleges that will be in attendence. Just want to know who they will be looking for?

Well, it's just like last year. Tallent is there, but the (head) coaching isn't. What will Blackman do when they lose this group of seniors. This is part of the first team at Blackman. Price and House have been 1 & 2 since their freshman year. They do have a couple of other pitchers in McDaniel and Nell, but they are seniors also.

It was stated earlier in this forum that Coach Greene won a state title at his previous school. Coach Greene at Blackman has never won a state title. He coached Blackman to a 3 way tie in district 7 last year due only to tallent that he had. It was not his coaching. He has had great pitching out of David Price and Michael House over the past 3 years. He lost 7 seniors from last years team that could have easily been playing in the state tournament, but didn't make it due to coaching. David and Michael will carry the load again this year. After these 2 pitchers leave, Coach Greene's coaching ability will finally show. There are 4 teams in Murfreesboro in AAA. Coach Greene is the 4th best coach in Murfreesboro only by default. He has excellent assistants, but they don't make the calls. If Coach Brewer were the head coach, this team could go a long way. I hope for the boys that will still be here next year that Coach Greene will leave. I don't see any college team trying to lure him unless they are looking for a JV coach at a juco.
