  1. Stewart County Fans I went to see The Rebels play Westmoreland last Friday night. Came away from the game thinking that they are turning the corner. The boys need to keep playing hard. It can get discouraging, but they had their moments against Westmoreland. I would like to see Stewart County get back to the days of glory like when Herman Wallace was Quarterbacking the Rebels or when Keith Allen was leading them to the Beer Barrel Bowl. It can and will happen. The Sophmore class was undefeated as eighth graders at Dover Elementary (I think). The Coach has some young talent to build upon. New School, new stadium, new coach, new attitude, who knows where this will lead them.
  2. Speedy 79, i am so sorry that you are upset about the refs at your game Friday night. The fact is you got spanked for the second year in a row... Golden Tate #23 has a thing about destroying your team. 4 Touchdowns -- yeah, I think I saw the refs throw Golden on their shoulder and run him into the end zone four times!!! Chuck Woolsley #24 pretty much had his way with your team as well. You guys have a good team and a great quarterback. You will go far in your disrict/region/classification. You just ran upon a better team Friday night so quit making excuses and whining. JPII, do not get cocky and overconfident. Knox Catholic is not Friendship Christian. Remeber last year!!! You have improved tremendously but to get on Catholic's level you have a ways to go. I do not expect to see -1 yards total offense in the paper on Saturday morning. If you go in cocky, I am afraid that is exactly what I will see.. Get tough, get mean, get prepared, fight the good battle, and maybe just maybe, we will get those refs that carry Golden on their shoulders to call the game. Good luck to both teams.. Catholic, you guys were so much fun to watch last year. Much success to you this year (except maybe Friday night, just kiddin') Pope 57 people, I know I told you guys I was retiring my key board from Coach T but cry baby, excuse making, whining about last Friday night is not tolerable.

    FRA

No one need question FRA's schedule. I saw them play Tuesday night and was very impressed. I have seen most schools in and around Metro to include BGA, MBA, Hendersonville several times, BA, Father Ryan, Clarksville, Hillsboro, and the list can go on and on... FRA is as good as any and better than most. I would love to see a BGA VS FRA or a Hendersonville VS FRA. I believe that you guys will go far in the tourney. I do not know how Notre Dame beat you unless it was on their tiny field... The game is a completely different kind of game on Notre Dames field.
  4. Oh and must I say this again,,, This post was started to get a certain HHS defenders Dad's attention... The post has taken on legs and crawled from the bottom of the ocean... I am just glad TB knew better than to let Nick 27 drag him into the big black pot.... and TB you are crazy if for one minute you think TJ is better than the red headed mangler and one up.... Do not let FEVERCOACH make you weak minded by believing that the best four 89 players went to H'ville.. It may be true but you had better not believe it. I personally think there are only two 89'rs better than the rest and there are about six split between the two schools that are relatively even. One JPII freshman defender said he would just grab Daniel's jersey and hold on all night.. hahaha
  5. Fevercoach, You show your maturity and wisdom. I agree with most everything that you state. You should come see a JPII game. I think that you would enjoy one of their games. One thing, JPII has been playing a back line of Hatfield, Martin, Maynard, and Spradlin, Joe Liyanna has been playing goal. It has been a heck of a back line. Joe was playing stopper and fullback letting either Trey or Greg to go to the front. All combinations worked well. GK has been a real problem. Joe is doing a great job but we miss him in the field. Keller has been injured all season. He was OK for a couple of games but injured his opposite knee against Tullahoma. If one reads the original post--there was never an argument over wether H'ville would beat JPII, it was pretty clear that the consensus was that they would win. I do think that Kellers and Camerons senior year that it would be a good game. The following year would be a good competative game. JPII plays good team ball just like their girls. They are just a step slow and a little bit weak. BGA and FRA just overpowered them. I would love to see a FRA and Hendersonville game...Think it would be good. FRA impressed more than BGA.
  6. Father Ryan is an example of don't take a team too lightly 'cause of their early season record... I saw Ryan play last Tuesday and they were so much better than I had expected because of their early season loss to Hendersonville.. I will give them their props.. They are palying very good right now... The tournament is just around the corner.

    JP2

Thanks for the info captain and I do believe that the trip plays a big part in the game. Was not aware of the eight games on so tight of a schedule but was aware that you had come through the biggest part of your district schedule...quite successfully I might add... we were hoping that you would overlook us somewhat..We know our game was not so important to you but was very important to us as an experience factor...Once again --thanks--Good Luck with the upcoming tournament... I hope you go far
  8. Fellas, You do me proud... A certain couple of FANS started this with all of you knuckleheads in mind. I say knuckleheads with love in my heart. It took us long enough to get you guys fighting over this but you finally fell into the big black pot that we have been stirring. Enough of the exagerating on both sides. I know enough soccer and enough about all of the players at both schools to tell all of you that this has gone on long enough and it is time to stop this thread. The FANS are people who are old enough to know better than to get this going but we sure had fun doing it. We even played both sides of the fence for awhile. This was started with the intention of getting a certain HHS freshman's Dad going. He was just to smart for our trickery and guessed who we were right away and laughed at us. You guys need to relax and knock off the insults. It is getting a little to personal for my taste and besides JPII just snaked the last piece of our puzzle from HHS. (This line is for you big un-- I hope that you can be comfortable reading it) We have an ALL-STAR coming in next year from HHS. So There Take that!!! By the way... Xander is the best player in the State and no -- I do not think he would of come to JPII. Yes H'ville has tremendous talent...if you knuckleheads read the original thread it stated that JPII would learn a few things from H'ville. Truthfully though, I wish that in two years The Sumner County schools would schedule The Pope because it would allow some FRIENDS to play against one another and supply some great competition for the POPE instead of driving to Chattanooga over and over and over. By the way H'ville 4 goals better this year but the gap will close as the boys all get older and better.
  9. Nice sportsmanship cadillac... I am a JPII fan (extreme) and did not see the play in question.. I do believe that you guys came into the second half with alot more intensity than JPII. You earned the win. I felt like we were able to stay competative in the first half. Second half was tipped in your favor as the score indicates. If the ref calls a foul in the box--and a PK is awarded--then a foul was committed. Whining about the call will not change the outcome.. We need to learn to pull up our socks and get back after it!!! Things like bad calls will always happen.
  10. JPII has a very nice field... I think you will enjoy playing on it... as far as if they are impressive---well they can be but are very young and inconsistent. Tullahoma should win the game if they come to play. JPII has not been finishing. JPII started out the season strong against some weak opponents. As the competition has gotten better, they have as of yet not pulled off the upset that they need for confidence. Good luck tomorrow and lets hope the rain stays away.
  11. I know this is the boys section but the freshman who made the biggest impact was Taren Brown from H'ville. She started for the State Runner - up H'ville team this past Fall. She is TJ Brown's twin sister. Taren is going to look good in Citadel Blue when college time comes around
  12. Nouri is back on the team as of the last team meeting with Manny... Whatever problems there were have been worked out.
  13. I can't believe no none from Beech, Station Camp, Gallatin, Hendersonville, or White House will step up and try to explain why none of them will schedule JPII.
  14. The team that has all of these different freshmen is TNFC 89 Premier. They are going to be loaded this Spring!!! Nouri from Mcallie Daniel and TJ from Hendersonville Emilio from Grace Ryan and Taylor from JPII Aaron from Page (I think) Grant Snyder from Hendersonville (I think he quit H'ville and is transferring to JPII) They have all started for their varsity teams and all of their varsity teams are posting winning seasons against good competition. This team has players from Father Ryan as well. TJ plays ODP on the 88 team. Aaron and Daniel play ODP for the 89's as well as Emilio. Ryan plays football in the fall but plays club ball in the fall when he can.
  15. Often, the question is asked on this site about who the best players are wether it is Seniors, Freshmen, Middle TN, etc. I have been watching the kids who make up the Freshmen class since they were U-9 select. Without out a doubt the very best Freshman in the state is Daniel Kelly from Hendersonville. Daniel starts for H'ville as a Freshman and H'ville is a team that everyone better watch come state tourney time. Daniel has been invited to play on the ODP National team in Italy this summer. TJ Brown and Sutton Cash are outstanding H'ville freshmen as well. Some Freshmen who do not get any attention at all are JPII freshmen. Anthony Montigony(spelling), Derick Boone, Ryan Maynard, Chris Mann, Taylor Crawley, Clint Kratzer, and Patrick Koeters. Anthony, Derrick, and Ryan are starters on the varsity team that is currently and quietly 5-2-2. They beat a tough Warren County team, beat USN, tied USN and BA. Chris contributes alot along with Clint and Taylor. All of these boys have played either for Fever or TNFC and several have a State Championship behind them. Daniel, TJ, and Sutton have clubbed with most of these boys.
  16. Pope John Paull II is a second year school in Hendersonville, Sumner County, and in their first year of varsity soccer. JPII has a hard time filling their schedule from year to year on both the boys and girls schedule. Sumner county schools, Hendersonville, Beech, Station Camp, White House will not play JPII. The reason for this is not known. JPII would probably beat White House and Station Camp, would compete with Beech and Gallatin, and learn a whole lot from Hendersonville (haha) if you catch my drift. The boys on the JPII squad are boys that have played club ball for Fever, TNFC, and the Gallatin team for years. They have friendships with these kids from the Sumner County Schools and would love to play them. It seems like their is a hidden conspiracy against JPII because a private school moved into Sumner County and Hendersonville. I know the parents and coaches at Hendersonville and know there is no conspiracy there. Hendersonville is waiting for JPII to mature as a program before playing them and I believe they eventually will. Hendersonville would not have to push themselves to compete and Coach Plumber believes in a tough schedule. Next year JPII will be able to compete (not beat) Hendersonville. The rest of the schools need to play their new neighbor. If there is a reason that the Sumner County schools will not play JPII-will someone please just state the reason
  17. I saw the Warren County vs. JPII Soccer game and felt the results were as they should have been. JP II clearly controlled the ball much more effectively than Warren County. Warren County's midfielders did hold the ball too long on a couple of opportunities causing their up top guys to get off sides. Shot quality goes to JPII with quantity going to Warren County. JPII is a young team that is going to be excellent next year. They are a season away. JPII does not have a Senior Class this year. They start four juniors, four sophmores, and three freshmen. Against Warren County, one Junior starter and one Sophmore starter was out. JPII has good depth, they are skilled but small. As to the scheduling problems. It is not so much a problem of finding games, it is more that NO Sumner County teams, Hendersonville, Beech, Station Camp, Gallatin, White House , or Portland will play JPII. The reason for this is not known. JPII could probably play with Gallatin and Beech, would beat Station Camp and White House, and learn a whole lot (haha) from Hendersonville if you know what I mean. LETS PLAY THE GAME
