  1. How about that playcalling by Coach Brothers. JP2 has now lost two games in large part to the playcalling of Coach Brothers. Run the ball when down by two TD's in the fourth quarter, that's brilliant. Use the final timeout with 5 minutes left in the game, even better. Coach Chris Webber, I mean Brothers, got outcoached and never made the neccessary adjustments in the second half on defense and then didn't throw the ball, either Catignani doesn't have a strong enough arm, or Coach Brothers does not trust in him. Either way I would just like to point out that I was right and the game came down to playcalling and Catignani for JP2.
  2. Wow if I wasn't mistaken this thread was about The Goodpasture/JP2 game, not about JP2/Father Ryan. Why does Ryan always get brought into these issues is of no wonder to me. But either way let's just talk about this game not the suddenly mightly won all of two games Irish. There is one player who can win this game for JP2, and his last name is not Tate. Stephen Catignani can win or lose this game for Pope. He has to get the ball to Tate DOWNFIELD, something he has not done effectively in the three games so far this season with the exception of one play against Ryan. Catignani has to become a deep threat quarterback. Let Golden get in the open field and it should be a good game. If he doesn't get the ball downfield in the passing game, well I just hope Goodpasture doesn't run over Pope and it be on TV. There is one other concern with the JP2 team in regards to the last two games. Who is calling the plays on offense!!!!! Whoever it is, is not the person I saw the last two years because the offense has looked confused. They get something that works, Wesley running the ball in the first possession against Webb, then abandon it til the third quarter. I have faith in Coach Brothers, but make them actually stop something before abandoning it, then exploit the weaknesses of their attempt to stop it. That is why JP2 has been successful in the past. If Catignani and Brothers show up this week on the offensive side of the ball with playcalling and legitmate deep balls, then JP2 can win this game. If not, the school named after deceased Pope will need some devine intervention to pull this one out.
  3. all i can say is good lucka against Golden, he's guy that u can't believe until u actually see him and he's better than last yr by a lot from what i can see good luck.
  4. The Championship will come down to JPII and ECS with Knox Webb being close to those two. This will be a good game though but expect JPII do what JPII does and let Golden be golden. JPII is so much more expierienced this year than they were last yr that they will be very hard to beat. My biggest worry, which could be the biggest good ,is JPII down playing this game after the GIANT game against Father Ryan, of course they could feed off that game and hand out another 49-21 loss, but i doubt that big of a margin of victory. JPII is good and shouldn't be underestimated. They are State title contenders with that one intangible no one else has, Golden Tate, the biggest playmaker in the state. Remember Golden isn't JPII though, too many players with the ability to make good plays but Golden's pressence only enhances that factor. This should be a good game, watch out Spartans.
  5. WOW Ryan's academics are so great that Jp2 Students failing go to ryan to save their GPA's. Anyone from MBA wanna comment on Rehab.
  6. HHS will not have a winning season thanks to coaching.
  7. Jp2 went 7-3 last yr in the regular season so winning is becoming a tradition, quite the opposite of Ryan the last several years. This is only JP2's fourth year in existence and they have now assumed the leading rold in Catholic athletics in Nashville and BY FAR passed Ryan in academics (that wasn't hard) Jp2 also beat Greenbriar last week the 3a state runner up from last yr so destroying a Father Ryan team that is lucky to win 2 or 3 games on the D2 AAA level (hardest in the state) with Ryan's schedule being as hard as it is not surprising. Ryan has played sloppy this year, just ask Ravenwood who made them look just as bad in their scrimmage. This was no fluke, 49-21 is hard to be a fluke anyway. Ryan fans and players especially are really good at talking and excuses, of course their play of the last several years has made that almost a neccessity.
  8. The spitting thing by the way, I was a painted person and we were in the stands idiot please quit making things up.
  9. spitting no, that's made up BS. Ryan players were 30 feet from the JPII student section. They have felt light rain and thought it was spitting but please that never happened and they will swear up and down it did but that is a 100% lie
  10. Father Ryan please, JpII won fair and square, they didn't just win, they sent you home and back down to earth, you've got a lot of work to get anywhere near a winning record. JPII played great, and that's not just Golden. Crutcher, Glass, Poole, Catignani, that freshmen #22, Sneed, Coffey, Mantegani, Hardy, Konstadine, Rodgers, and Lovett all played good solid games. But then again I think 49-21 speaks for itself to a large degree. Take your little flashy cocky clapping pregame routine somewhere else and get your butt whooped and I hope Ryan win's A game this year, maybe you can beat BGA. Good Luck and I look forward to reading 9 more theards complaining about refs, and 1 player teams this year. Good Luck Father Ryan and learn to lose with class.
  11. Several names are being left out big time, Jack Belote, Jason Millard, Lexus Keonith, Johnathan Fly, Kyle Cothron, are several that haven't been mentioned. Jack Belote and Jason Millard are two of the best. Belote just won a 54 hole tourney on USJGT at Wyndyke in Memphis by 17 strokes (he was also 17 under par after 3 days). And Jason won Westfield this year shooting a 36 hole total of 5 under par on the very tough layout at Legacy of Springfield. Keonith is also VERY good and will be great. I have to agree though that Tyler Cassetty is if not the one of the best players in this state, he hits the ball a mile, and his wedge game is second to none all thanks to his hard work ethic and teaching pro Johnny Warren who has helped him go from real good to great in past 2 years.
  12. Let's remember a few things. 1. Has there ever been a REAL game between these two teams..... and the awnser is NO, so please quit referring to scrimmages against a school that was no where near full and no where near ready to play Father Ryan on a real game level 2. Fans..... Fans don't play the game the last time I checked and have little influence on the outcome of the game. All the talk here is just JP2FAN and Father Ryan fans bickering about past basketball games and other sports in which fans may have crossed the line in chants. 3. The past...... the past is the past. In high school as in collegiate sports players change every year in every sport. Judgeing on a performance from a year before doesn't usually work when it comes to collegiate or high school sports, the players change and in this case a coach has changed. Also maturity levels change and so does attitude. So do not bring up past events. Jp2 is a growing school still in infancy, Father Ryan is old with reputations, some good (A Winning Tradition) some bad (drugs, and the Father Rehab nickname) but both are entering this game 0-0 against the other in REAL football games, with new coaches and growing programs. Let's remember what is said on this website doesn't determine the outcome of the game, just post some predictions and avoid bashing the other school, and give REASONABLE explainations for your reasons not "well im a pope fan and i think pope will win by 100 because a pope's better than a priest" b.s. As for my prediction JP2 21 Father Ryan 17 Close game decided by big plays by JP2's big play players ( the Tate's, ya there's more than 1 this yr) All in all remember the schools share a bond in their religious affiliation and share a rivalry, don't make it a hatred.
  13. Before creating a "super 12" with the 4 previously mentioned teams from the middle ( USN,MBA, BGA, and fr ryan) let's not forget that BA and JP2 have been competitive over the last two years, Jp2 only having been in varsity sports the last two years, and BA beginning to not look to bad either. I don't think a "super 12" will work, there is always the poetential that there will teams in the super 12 not deserving of being there and teams outside that deserve to be there. With the East getting smaller I think it needs to be done away with. And a east and a west division, splitting the middle, be made. The east and the west would only be for regional purposes and during regular season any game against a DII opponent would count towards the seeding (so the middle teams still play each other instead of driving to memphis or chattanooga to play) Then an east and a west regional would be held and the top 4 would advance to the state tournament in nashville (moved because regionals would be in memphis and chattanooga)
  14. baidad, y does plummer have good teams year in and year out, not because he's a good coach, he has year in and year out had some of the best players in the state coming out of the old fever soccer program. Plummer simply doesn't play JP2 because he doesn't want to, he doesn't want to lose more players to the local private school. Yes some of those teams are required games but look at the two schedules back to back, Hendersonville's schedule is much easier than JP2's scedule.
  15. HINT: here's why HHS won't schedule JP2, could it be Coach Plummer? He did schedule many teams that are worse than Jp2; for example White house, Gallatin, Beech, Henry Co., Shelbyville central, Cleveland and to kick off the season they play Father Ryan a team very similar to JP2 in DII so your arguement there is wrong, sorry. It's a great mystery why HHS won't schedule a game against a school only 5 miles away. Could it be ole plummer won't schedule the teams from pope because he thinks the players at JP2 should be playing for him?
