Michael McElhaney of Santa Fe laid down a bunt with runners at 2nd and 3rd down 1st base line and both runners scored...no errors were committed ont he play either. Although he did catch them off guard since he runs a 6.0 40.

I hate to say this but if Collinwood just puts the bat on the ball then they should win. If that junior group has improved any over last year then Collinwood will definately be a tough team to play.

Santa Fe beats Hampshire 14-3. After the first inning the score was 5-0. After 2 the score was 11-0. I believe in the 4th Hampshire made it 11-1. Then after the 5th Santa Fe wins 14-3. Justin Phelps started the game for Santa Fe. In the first inning he gave up 1 hit and struck out 3. The hit was an infield hit to 3rd. I believe he struck out 3 in the 2nd as well. He pitched through the 4th inning. I dont believe he gave up more than 3 hits. Josh McCord came in to pitch the 5th. Hampshire got 2 hits and I think he struck out 2. Even though Santa Fe won this game by 11 its a little misleading. Hampshire changed pitchers after the 2nd inning and they ended up striking out the side in the 3rd. The pitcher Hampshire brought in threw a little bit harder than the first...which still was under 70...however he was a little wild which actually worked out for him. The first pitcher was giving Santa Fe a lot of meat. Santa Fe's fielding was horrible. I believe that out of six or 7 balls that were put in play Santa Fe committed 4 errors or so. The coaching was pretty impressive by Santa Fe...something you wouldnt hear last year. I noticed that the coaches and players have actually come prepared to play baseball mentally. There were some nice plays called that actually worked on the offensive side. The addition of Cameron Simms and Austin Collier really showed with the bats. These two guys didnt play last year. Cameron is a senior this year and Austin is a Junior. Cameron had at least 3 hits with some very nice line drives to the outfield. I didnt get to see him hit in the top of the 1st. I believe 2 of the hits were doubles...1 being a ground rule double. Austin hit the ball hard too. Santa Fe's hitting was A+++ in the 1st 2 innings...but for the game I'll give it a B Fielding was an F. They cant expect as many strikeouts against other teams as they had today. If a team puts 15 balls in play and they make errors on half or over half of them 14 runs isnt gonna be enough to win the game. Coaching was an A++. Rip Baxter did a really good job. Pitching was an A. Justin pitched a great game and had his way with basically every batter. McCord came in and did his job to close the game. Even though they scored 2 runs they only had 2 hits. They just put the ball in play more against Josh than they did against Justin which cause Santa Fe to actually have to field. Even though the fielding looked about like last year everything else about this team has improved. Santa Fe has matched its win total they have recorded the previous 2 years. I hope they get a few more.

Skelly can rack up the Ks. In his freshman year I dont know if he pitched a game where he didnt get double digit Ks. I agree that his control was nonexistant his freshman year. But he threw enough strikes where you couldnt afford to just stand there and take.

Improved his control...well thats no fun. He always use to make me look good making me dive for his 8 foot high fastball and 4 foot outside fastball...but hey people swung at it...a lot. I think he struck out 19 people one game as a freshman. Sadly I didnt get to catch him all the time because well...I was needed at other positions...many other positions.

Dont hate on short people...I swear a guy from Clifton was 4'10 and he jacked one off me. I couldnt pitch around him cus anything that was a strike was in his kill zone!!!

Metallica (Old Metallica not new), Slipknot or Linkin Park...anything that gets you in the mood to bust some heads.

HA Ben Skelly!!! I caught him with 1 eye closed...actually I did when he was a freshman because I lost my right contact before the game. I wonder how hard he throws now. He was throwing 75-80 then.

When your playing a team that only plays 2 or 3 quarters its hard to lose. WC will destroy you. Good job of hangin in there Forrest. You just have to wait Santa fe out sometimes. I dont think you can say no one gave Forrest a chance...but I know no one is for tomorrow's game.

I think he started late on the 1st game. You also have to refresh the page after each game or halftime I believe.

The game is at 9 o'clock. It will be over by 10:30 or so. Thats not too late. Everyone should be home before midnight. The only reason I can see people not going is if they have to get up at 5 am for work or something.
