GC and GP in the finals

District title rematch as the Lady Bucs and Commandos square off for the region title. Winner gets to host on Saturday, loser is on the road. Did the Bucs learn their lesson last week or will the Commandos even up the season series?
-
After losing by 20 plus just a couple of weeks ago, H'ville gets the W. Beech found out they are not good enough to just show up and win. By the time the Bucs decided to play it was a ballgame, and H'ville made the plays down the stretch. Hats off to them. That was a big game, because now Beech faces Hillsboro in a win or go home assuming they both take care of business in the first round rather than in the championship game where both would advance. Lets hope for an all district 12 region final.

Beech has played both Lincoln County and Coffee County earlier in the season. They beat LC and lost to CC, but it was early.
-
I know Beech rolled through District 12, who are the contenders from District 11? Can anyone give Beech a run for their money?

Not sure why my part of the response didnt post, but what I meant to say is that I watched our girls play both earlier this year. And, at least on those occasions, Coffee County was quite a bit better.

After seeing Lincoln County play a couple times this season now and seeing them fully dismantle a solid Lawrence County team I believe they might be the team to beat in that district over Coffee County.

Rockvale was very impressive tonight, suffocating defensively and great coaching. Look forward in seeing if they can make a run this postseason.
Their point guard is nice.

Coffee County looked pretty good when I say them over the holiday. Their post has size and can play. If you collapse to help with her they have guards that can make you pay.
-
Beech isn't good enough right now to continue to make the mistakes they have been making in the form of turnovers and penalties and win. If they can clean those things up they could be a formidable opponent for anyone. I just hope their youthfulness doesnt prevent them from reaching their potential. Im afraid that they may simply be a year away from being a good team.

I think the Eagles are capable but Bucs dont let it happen. Beech 31-17.

The west side of 5a/6a in terms of CoachT support is atrocious.
Cant be atrocious if it doesnt exist.

I think the Bucs' offense is a work in progress. They have big play ability, but I not sure they can put together long grind 'em out drives, which is normally their bread and butter, yet. The defense is legit. Ill go Bucs 21-10.

Beech/Hendersonville and I think Beech/Henry County is a good one.

What’s more shocking is adults talking crap about 15-18 year old girls. Grow up. They’ve beat the teams in front of them - Hendersonville, Beech, Brentwood and now Clarksville. Stop talking crap about them and give them credit for making a run.
I keep hearing people say (insert team name) had a bad game against GH. When youre saying this over and over maybe GH is playing a part in those teams having a bad game.

If I remember right the last game they played we were missing the starting guard Kaelyn Flowers....I know she has made a difference since her return averaging 12 pts and 3 rebounds per game. That has really helped to open the floor up and bring more dimension to the offense. Not likely but I would like to see a repeat of game one....
Kaelyn is a difference maker.

It’s a good matchup. I am sure both teams would have picked a different first round opponent but they will be ready. After facing each other twice already, they both know what’s coming. IMO it’s a 5-6 Pt game either way on most nights. Speed wise the Blaze have the edge. But Cookeville is a very good defensive team. They play man D without a lot of help and make you make tough shots. They mix in a Full or 3/4 court press to change the flow of the game sometimes but mainly a man to man defense. They have excellent rebounding guards and are rarely out rebounded in a game. Garcia has been the difference maker over the last month. If she can be a force offensively in the paint, I like our chances. But the sharp shooters could change the game on any night. The Cavs have multiple shooters but they can’t afford a cold shooting night like the last game they played in the glass house. In the most recent matchup with the Blaze, Cookeville shut down Monson (5 pts, 1-7 FG). They will need to do that again. Looking forward to round 3. Should be a dandy.
Its a shame its a first round match up.

Cookville did hand Blackman one of its two loses this year, so they are capable.

Big win by Green Hill tonight over Beech. All 9AAAA final. Round 4 Cavs vs GH for Region title Wednesday night. Regardless of this first three games I expect this one to be tight.
Yep, Green Hill was the better team last night. The Cavs looked really good against a solid Gallatin team.
-
Looks like all the higher seeds prevailed.
Gallatin and Cookville
Green Hill and Beech

The Cookeville girls are hands down the best team in the region. They have done well for sure, but let's not confuse our opinions for results. No one would be shocked to see Lebanon make a run and no one would be shocked to see Cookeville lose to Beech, Gallatin, or Hendersonville.
I would.

I agree with you, with Upperman being the eventual champ.
