With Hunters Lane and McGavock girls in that district it really doesn't matter. The Sumner Co. schools will all go to the region.

The order they finish in the regular season may play a part in how they do in the district tournament which will determine WHO they play in the region. So ya, it does matter.

  2. I guess the big game Friday night is between Hendersonville and Station Camp. If SC wins they wrap up second place, which comes with a bye and automatic region bid. If H'ville wins that creates a 3 way tie for second place.  Station Camp won the first matchup, but the Commandos are at home. What do we think?

Sounds like the opening of Liberty Creek is going to be a chapter in the book " How to screw up the opening of a school in 3 easy steps.

1.Making them play a varsity schedule in the first year with only young kids AND playing top tier schools Picking a terrible administration would be #3.

    2. Trying to pay a coach more than VERY established successful coaches in the county.

    3. Hiring an administration that would even consider doing 1 and 2.

    Recipe for failure.

Not as easy as you think. Staff is made according to number of students. You have to place the teachers already in the county first. THEN you can fill spots according to the number of additional students you have.

Say you currently have 1500 kids, but then 400 are moved to the new school. That means 400 students worth of teachers are changing schools with them.

You don't open a new school with a blank slate.

No, not blank but definitely more positions available than if it was an already established school.

Be tough if he doesn't know coaches in this area to bring in to help.

Advantage of having to staff a whole new school is there is room for the new coach to bring people with him. Not saying this will happen just that it would be easier in this situation than in most when a new coach is hired.

  7. Honestly, I dont think it matters.  If Beech plays well they are beating any of the three. If they dont play well any of the three could beat Beech.  I guess Hvlle worries me the most. They hoist alot of threes, so if they have a good shooting night they could be trouble. Station Camp is dangerous is Marissa goes off.  Gallatin was down a starter when we played, so it will also be interesting to see what difference that makes.

I mean no not really, curious to see the hendersonville, sc game tomorrow. Its a big time game for standings for those 2 teams. A lot at stake. Beech and Gallatin both win tomorrow beech will go to 5-0 gallatin to 3-2.....so if hville beats sc hville will be 4-1 sc move to 2-3

    beech

    hville

    gallatin

    sc

    metro 5,6

but if sc wins three teams would be 3-2 with wins against each other. hville beat gallatin, gallatin beat sc, and sc would beat hville tomorrow, will be a good one to watch.

A Station Camp win would be big for Beech as well, because like you stated everyone else would have at least two losses. This would give Beech a little cushion if they slip somewhere the second time through.

Well I guess that pretty much sums up this district...21 point win against what is supposed to be the number 2 team in the district. The district belongs to Beech, it was beech and lebanon for years flip a coin every game between those 2. Now lebanon is gone so it only makes sense for beech to win this pretty easily now. The question is will they let down one game against a sc or gallatin the second time around and someone sneak a win from them. They could just as easily beat everyone by 20. I didnt see the game but I know gallatin usually plays their starters all the way out even in blow outs, did both teams keep starters in the whole game?

Beech pulled their starters about halfway through the 4th and Gallatin did with about 2 minutes left.

Their only challenge in the district will be Gallatin, especially now after the tragedy they had. They are playing for more than everyone else. But they also play hard which gives a lot of teams trouble, Beech could split or lose or win both of those games. I dont really see anyone in the district beating these 2 teams, it will just be whoever wins these games finishes first and the other one second. Idk when they play but its gotta be coming up with as small of a district this is. It will be a great game.

Their first meeting is Tuesday night at Beech.

Beech is still the best team in this district and first or second in the county. Westmoreland gets the nod as 1 because they have beat them twice I believe...but theres no one else in the county thats on the level of either of those two teams in beech and westmoreland. Both those teams will win their districts.

Those are my thoughts as well. Beech has its flaws, but from what Ive seen they are still the best team in the district. They may not run the table but I think they finish on top.

  13. Well all the speculation ends tonight with the start of the district schedule.  I did find it interesting that Womble at Mainstreet Preps ranked Beech as the sixth best team in Sumner County. I know they have been inconsistant, but they have played a pretty tough schedule. Its hard to believe there are 5 teams better than them in the county.

I don’t think it has to be mistake free, but a good start will be critical. If they start well, I think they win. If they don’t, it could be like last time… BUT understand it’s a different “team” than that early season matchup. Having settled on a QB has had a huge impact on that young man’s confidence and has the rest of the team rallying behind him.

    I hope so.
